The reviews would tell you it is. But their execution, customer service and overall quality of speed is far from desirable. My BIGGEST complaint is absolutely having NO WARNING before my data speed is throttled. I’m throttled so much I can’t even use my phone to pay for more high speed data. That has left me in some very vulnerable situations in rural areas. This is my last month. I had a tech issue with one for over six months, and I reached out every single month. And every single month, they assured me that it was resolved. Yet every single month one of my family members lines would cut out just a few days before his cycle would end. According to their own rules and the pop ups on my phone we have a 3 day grace period where they retry the payment within 24 hours. Instead of giving me the 3 day grace period they shut my service off as soon the payment didn’t go through. SAME DAY. They said you have to update your payment which I did and it still did not take the payment. I’m not upset about that but why is my service off especially when you won’t let me pay. This is why people don’t gravitate to these lesser known services. I can’t even get a representative to help. I’ll be looking for new service for this line, my other line and my mom’s line that I convinced her to get. You lost a valuable customer. I’ve been with you since you were giving crypto for mapping out the area. Helium doesn’t throttle; it completely blocks use of personal wifi. The phone becomes useless. No human customer support. It takes days to resolve issues. Before signing up, have a long conversation with AI about the reasons people LEAVE Helium, and you’ll understand. ### 1/5 — Annoying *2026-07-16, version 4.2.6* I have already had this issue once where it saved the wrong card on file or it isn’t the right one. Fine I can get past this, but as soon as the payment doesn’t go through it throttles my internet immediately so I can’t actually solve the issue by myself and make my payment. Then on top of that to change my billing details I have to contact support instead of being able to change the info by myself. At least give me half an hour to actually fix the issue instead of just not giving me warning I don’t even need a whole day just a couple minutes so I can change the details. Maps when I’m downtown, mobile passes on the go, streaming my playlists on the bus, firing off emails between errands. It did exactly what I needed: kept me connected when Wi-Fi ghosted me. No bill, no drama, just vibes. Leveling Up to Air Plan: Same Energy, More Peace of Mind I jumped to the Air Plan hoping for some next-level connectivity magic. Spoiler: the magic was already there. Service feels just as solid as it did on free. Calls come through crisp. Texts send fast. My Spotify doesn’t buffer. And can we talk about the superpower of having cell service? • Maps when you take a wrong turn and your sense of direction says "good luck" • Mobile passes so you’re not that person holding up the line • Calls + texts for when email feels like too much of a wait • Data on the go because internet is life’s best tool Ever have old time stamp service? Support told me to check with my cellular carrier and that nothing changes on the free plan. Honestly? The Air plans your chance. To me?Change unnoticed. However, My calls are clear, connections are fast, and I haven’t had a single "can you hear me now" moment. If that’s outdated, then outdated is the new premium. The Vibe Check The Air Plan didn’t reinvent my phone life. Helium nailed the basics: give people service for the moments Wi-Fi can’t cover. I upgraded for the safety net, and it’s convenient, reliable. If you’re a Wi-Fi-first human who just needs backup for real life, Helium gets it. Free plan slaps. Air Plan keeps the same energy with the added flex of unlimited calls and texts when you’re not home. Bottom line: Your phone is basically a supercomputer in your pocket, but only if it works when you step outside. Helium makes sure it does. No stress, no crazy bill, just service when you need it.
