I play the harp and it‘s ability to recognise low strings is astonishing. Harp always sounds perfect! You’re wrong *2022-03-21* Get an acoustic that’s out of tune, put your phone in front of you, start tuning. The visuals of this kind of allow you to half close your eyes to concentrate on the note pitch while being positively ‘guided’ to the correct pitch by a swathe of colour and movement. And I know it sounds like my headline title is contradicting what I’ve just said about ‘not using your eyes’ but here’s the thing, when I use this tuner it seems as though my ears get ‘positive reinforcement’ from the visuals so that they are actually doing more of the tuning now, far more quickly. The visual format is so refreshing compared to other tuning apps too. If only there was a way to have a drone playing at the same time it’d be perfect. If this developer ever finds a way to get this pre-loaded onto a future Snark tuner or something through some sort of partnership, I’ll be first in line to buy. I downloaded this app because they talked about just tuning vs. temperament tuning in youtube. However, my eyes get tired. It is weird and not easy to use. Is this supposed to be a toy. I just wasted $5.99. Worse than the free app. ### 2/5 — Low sensitivity *2024-02-14* Not sensitive enough to pick up an unamplified electric guitar at very close range in a silent room, even with the sensitivity switch on. Might be nice if it could also run as an AUv3 in a DAW, but as is it is completely useless for silent guitar practice. It seems to offer a special kind of accuracy when reaching the final calibration moments of tuning a note. Incredibly helpful for me as a trumpet player. This is all I need for intonation practice. I love the minimal design and the beautiful visuals. This tuner had the same effect on my guitar in the room. It's amazing what effect a tight tuning spec can have on complex chords, but the real test is hearing simple triads sound so sweet. The psychoacoustics actually come to mind (what did you just call me?) Helix tuner makes the popular clip on tuner sound... Well just saying well worth dealing with your phone. Automatic mode it's so simple.
