WHY NILA

The average time from the first perimenopause symptom to diagnosis is still 4.6 years. In that gap: dismissed appointments, wrong diagnoses, symptoms written off as anxiety or stress, and a lot of people quietly convinced they're making it up. Nila was founded by Erin Beattie, a communicator and cancer survivor based in Victoria, BC, who built her first community for new mothers in 2003 because nothing adequate existed. Twenty years later, she did it again. The name Nila means moon, a nod to the lunar rhythm that mirrors the menstrual cycle, and to the auntie or older sister who's been through it and tells you what no one else will.
