In Arabic the word for fish is clearly written as “samak”, but the app pronounced it as “sam”. I found similar issues in Spanish, German, and Mandarin. The audio is from a machine translation source so it doesn’t sound very natural in many spots as well. If trusting the accuracy of what you’re learning is a big point for you, especially given the $30 to $150 price range, maybe check out something else. If you’re an Anki user and you are fine with machine pronunciations, then this provides variety beyond just flipping cards. ### 2/5 — Confused *2024-10-11* I didn’t know how to get answers other than to leave a review. So I downloaded the hello Talk app first and accidentally purchased the hello words plus subscription for 1 year; which I know you can’t refund or switch them so I’ve been trying to figure out how to use the subscription that I paid for. But when I downloaded hello words, it prompts me to pay for the subscription I already paid for. So basically I paid for something I’m not even able to use. So if you can fix this issue and tell me how to use what I paid for, I can and will definitely leave a real review about the app, if you can tell me how I can use it. **Developer response:** Thanks for letting us know this. If it still doesn't work, email us at hellowords@hellotalk.com. ### 2/5 — doesn't work *2024-08-31* i use hellotalk's version of hellowords daily and i love it! so i tried getting the actual app. it keep bugging and kicking me off mid lesson even if i still have time left? i can't get through three words without having to reload. also even as i'm getting it right it plays the incorrect sound, so i look stupid. 2 stars though because the hellotalk version is amazing and so so helpful **Developer response:** We apologize for the issues you're experiencing now. It seems to be a copy of the Drops app, which functions better than this one. Multiple choice, matching, spelling given all the correct characters in a scrambled order, drag and select the right characters kinda like how you might unlock your phone, and probably something I'm forgetting. My only gripe is that the amount of time before the app prompts you with the correct answer or character is way too short. I'm seeing the word for the first time, give me more than 2 seconds to try and recognize it. **Developer response:** Greetings,meow-kapow! L’interface buge et je me retrouve bloquée quand il faut reconstituer un mot, parce que la partie droite est impossible à déplacer.
