### 3/5 — Unstable

*2025-09-01, version 6.2.2*

I paid for this app and this version has become very unstable. Constantly crashes after opening. I’m not keen to download and pay for a new app then have to add everything again. Please fix the stability of this paid app.

### 2/5 — Unable to search cards by type

*2024-12-14, version 6.2.1*

Search didnt work very well. Too many taps to add to deck

### 2/5 — Slow with the upgrade

*2024-04-28, version 6.2.1*

Ever since I bought the upgrade, the app has been awfully slow. The camera takes forever to lock on to the card, the app takes forever to show all the sets when I need to change it…
It was far more efficient before I bought the upgrade…

### 4/5 — Great for storage and scanning. Just wish it had a few quality of life features.

*2023-10-03, version 6.2.1*

A friend showed me this app and after I got it I’ve never looked back. The scanner and storage system is near perfect in my opinion. I have a broken camera and it still works.

My only wish is that I wish it had a feature where you could search your collection for cards that do certain things, like a scryfall search engine. Something that would allow me to search my entire inventory for certain effects rather than having to find cards online, learn their name, then see if I have them. If a feature like that came out, it would be an instant 5 stars.

### 3/5 — Price database doesn’t work anymore

*2023-08-31, version 6.2.1*

I understand that the developer has moved on to a new version of this app, but that was pretty recently and already things are starting to break in the old app. For example, most of my collection currently has price: ? Instead of a value, and over the last few days the number of cards with a price has continued to decline.

### 4/5 — Great app but lacks a few features

*2023-07-11, version 6.2.0*

Definitely worth the price for unlimited scanning and advanced CSV export. We have thousands of MtG cards so it saved a TON of time getting our cards categorised. There are a couple improvements that would cause me to five-star it: 1. A “select all” button when moving/deleting. You have to select each card one-by-one to move or delete. 2. Recognise the set symbol when scanning. It only gets the set right about 50% of the time, so you spend extra time after each scan searching and selecting the right set, which adds up tremendously when scanning a large amount of cards. I get that pre-6th edition there weren’t set symbols, so obviously not those. 3. Scan into different binders. All my scans go to Owned Cards, and although I can move cards into binders, they don’t actually move out of Owned Cards. It would be nice if they did, and it would be even nicer if I could scan directly into a binder. Still, I’d recco this app every time. A solid buy.

### 4/5 — No AUD pricing

*2023-04-20, version 6.2.0*

Love the app so far but I would like to see some more options around currencies. Specifically I miss the ability to just see the price, instead I have to convert it from USD to AUD outside the app. This is only a minor issue and for anyone considering the app I definitely recommend it.

### 3/5 — British Pound Currency missing

*2023-03-30, version 6.2.0*

Could the app be updated to support the British Pound currency?

Kind regards,

### 5/5 — Love it

*2023-01-18, version 6.2.0*

Best collection management app. Does everything I want.

### 5/5 — Exactly What I Was Looking For

*2023-01-08, version 6.2.0*

Decided to dig out the collection after a 13 year hiatus from MTG and needed a way to take inventory without spending a ton of time. This app does just that. Fast, efficient…no subscription required, no account needed…I control and manage my own data. The one time premiums are well worth it. 7000 scanned in so far and another 12000+ to go. Thank you for this great app!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App keeps crashing

*2025-08-10, version 6.2.2*

App keeps crashing when I open it sometimes it works sometimes it crashes I have to open it multiple times for it to work and then eventually it crashes and I have to open it again very disappointed

### 1/5 — SCAM

*2024-07-02, version 6.2.1*

I already purchased premium on this app for 8 dollars and now it’s asking for me to make the purchase again. Total scam and very slimy. The restore purchase button doesn’t work.

### 1/5 — Do Not Buy.

*2024-06-15, version 6.2.1*

The dev has abandoned this app and released a new one, basically throwing all previous purchasers of the “lifetime” feature upgrades under the bus.

### 1/5 — scam

*2024-06-02, version 6.2.1*

paid for lifetime...

"blah blah... development is costly... blah blah new features... blah blah... legacy still functions same..

### 1/5 — Sneaky theft.

*2024-04-02, version 6.2.1*

“Why my purchases from the Legacy app are not restored on the new app?”

“As mentioned above, the Legacy app will continue to work normally, as is, so your purchases are and will always be yours. With that being said, by AppStore rules purchases cannot be carried over between apps. In case the new app has value to you, items will need to be purchased separately.”

This is their way of stealing from you. I bought a lifetime version of the app then they make a new version of the app to get more purchases for new features and blame Apple. They could’ve just updated this one. So now I need to buy the “lifetime version” of the new app. Then they’ll make a new app with new features and want us to buy that too. Fool me once I guess. I won’t buy anything else from this developer. Thanks for lying about a lifetime
App. By the way the new app has lifetime feature you can buy.

Why not just charge more in the first place? At least I wouldn’t have to buy a new version. Buy a new “lifetime” purchase. And migrate all my previous work?

### 1/5 — Just makes you keep paying

*2024-04-02, version 6.2.1*

Bought the app, then an update locked the import/export features behind an additional paywall. After this they stopped supporting the app and released a “new version” that you yet again have to pay for. Good app, but steer clear unless you like to have to keep shelling out as they lock new features behind more and more money

### 1/5 — Cash grab by developer

*2023-08-31, version 6.2.1*

Good years ago but has been outstripped by competitors in accuracy, speed and features. The developer was willing to take your cash for it but has abandoned it to make a “newer” app you have to pay for again. There are better alternatives out there.

### 1/5 — Cash Grab

*2023-08-21, version 6.2.1*

Dev has retired this app so they can sell you the same IAP again in the new one.

### 1/5 — Dev cannot be trusted

*2023-08-18, version 6.2.1*

Claims once-off ‘lifetime access’ to features, then drops support, replaces with a new version, and refuses to honour previous purchases.

### 1/5 — Sorting is completely broken

*2023-07-08, version 6.2.0*

The scanner works, but the sorting options are complete gibberish. Sort by rarity? Ok! Obviously the order by rarity is common, mythic, rare, uncommon… what??? The rarity sort is literally by the *alphabetical* order of the names of the rarities. Complete nonsense. Same with things like sorting by color. Definitely not WUBRG order.

Go ahead and use this to scan your cards easily, but then for your own sanity immediately export them to another app where you have ways to manage your collection which actually make sense.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2024-03-12, version 6.2.1*

I don’t know what I’d do without this app. I have over 11 thousand cards and this makes it a breeze to search through them.

### 5/5 — Perfect app

*2023-08-20, version 6.2.1*

I love it !!!!!

### 5/5 — Beautiful MTG card scanner

*2023-07-11, version 6.2.0*

Amazing job with this app. It is just beautiful!

### 5/5 — Easily the best scanning app out there

*2023-07-01, version 6.2.0*

I've used Helvault for years now, and I've tested just about every scanner for iOS and desktop. This is the one. I don't often spend money on apps, but I bought both the lifetime scanner and the advanced CSV export, and don't regret it one bit. I use the app at least once a week, and highly recommend it to anyone on iOS that comes asking about scanners.

### 5/5 — If you own more that 1000 Magic cards, this is a no brainer.

*2023-06-11, version 6.2.0*

What a time saver! Literally just went though 3 boxes of Dominaria and what would have taken me all day took me a few hours. And that’s because my son and I were looking through and playing the Card Pack Game… (both open a pack, scan in the top card, which ever card is worth more wins.)

Really can’t say enough about this program. Worth every penny for what it does.

### 5/5 — Incredible App with Amazing Scanner

*2023-05-04, version 6.2.0*

I have a massive collection and inputting everything would have been a nightmare but this app is super easy to use, extremely responsive,a very good search option for new cards and your collection and it lets me make different binders to organize my collection however the most convenient part is that this app has a scanner that is just amazing because it’s incredibly fast and it’s very sensitive so getting it to work on a card in a binder (without taking it out) works 99% on the first try (sometimes the card is a little weird so the app has trouble). I cannot recommend this app enough and it’s absolutely worth it.

### 5/5 — Excellent.

*2023-04-15, version 6.2.0*

Simple, easy and practical. Also easy 5 stars for being accessible through the font scaling option in iOS. Thank you for doing that. Even The big apps haven’t done this and it makes a huge difference for me, allowing me to actually see the cars stats. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Awesome app Best out there for MTG collectors.

*2023-02-16, version 6.2.0*

I love this app. There are a few things I wish it could do that haven’t been made possible yet but it keeps getting better. Would love to see a price trending up or down and amount and would love to be able to add proxy’s that I have without them being displayed as part of the overall “real” collection.

### 5/5 — Best Card Scanner Out There!!!!

*2023-01-30, version 6.2.0*

I’ve scanned nearly 20,000 cards so far. This thing rocks. Cannot recommend enough. I’ve tried all the apps, this is by far the best.

### 5/5 — Best MTG card scanner on the App Store!!!

*2023-01-20, version 6.2.0*

This app is a must have for anyone collecting MTG cards. The scanner is fast and very accurate (it’s even scanned cards with a lot of glare!). The way I can separate everything out by the box is great! I have scanned over 3500 cards so far and I’m still going strong.

There is a feature to search cards by the text on them such as “first strike” or “flying.”

A few features I’d like to see added:

- Negative and Positive searches such as:
          Positive: double
          Negative: strike
This would help me find something that maybe doubled the power of a creature or double mana
Oh! And the ability for more than one positive search such as “flying” and “lifelink”

- A tutorial or maybe a how-to section within the app for people new to the app. I learned I was scanning some cards wrong when I first started but it wasn’t hard to fix.

- An extra area similar to binder or lists but specifically for decks where I could set a card as my commander or commanders. Binder works well for it but I’d still like the extra section.

Again this IS the best MTG card scanner on the App Store! This list of stuff I’d like to see does not deter me from using this app at all! I know this is a developer that cares about his product and his customers and he’s not out to nickel and dime you to death with monthly or yearly fees. Try this app out and ask him questions if you have any. He’s a very friendly and helpful person to talk to. Thank you for reading my review!
