## What is Hemera?

A journal that stays yours. Hemera keeps your entries, photos and memories on your iPhone and in your own iCloud. No account, no ads, no tracking. And no subscription.

SWITCH WITH YOUR WHOLE ARCHIVE
• Import your journal export (zip): entries, photos, videos, tags, location and weather
• Your photos stay the originals, bit for bit
• Thousands of entries and many gigabytes? Pause the import and pick up where you left off

WRITE TOGETHER
• Share your journal with one other person, like your partner
• You both read, write and edit, with equal rights
• Working on the same entry at the same time? No text gets lost

LOOK BACK
• On This Day: what you wrote on this date in earlier years, also as a widget on your Home Screen and Lock Screen
• Search your whole journal in an instant, with filters for tags, photos, favorites and years
• Tags, favorites, location and weather with every entry

WRITE
• Photos sit right in your text, where they belong
• Headings, bold, italics, lists and checklists
• Writing suggestions based on the photos, places and workouts of your day (where available)
• Nothing gets lost: your text is saved as you type
• Start a new entry from the Lock Screen, Control Center or with Siri

PRIVATE AND YOURS
• Lock your journal with Face ID
• No account needed: your devices sync through your own iCloud
• We collect nothing: no ads, no tracking, no analytics
• Export your entire journal with all original photos and videos, whenever you like

Hemera is free, with no subscription.

Write down today what you want to remember tomorrow.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.3 — 2026-10-19

• Sharper photos: when you open an entry, Hemera downloads the original photos from iCloud, so they're sharp when you open them or zoom in.
• New in Settings: choose how much space downloaded originals may use, or clear them. Your originals always stay in iCloud.
• With Optimize iPhone Storage, small photos are no longer compressed a second time.
• The weather source now appears as a single quiet line below the entry.

### 1.2 — 2026-10-15

• Hemera is now available in 18 languages, including German, French, Spanish and Japanese.
• Photos from another day? Hemera asks whether to use their date.
• The first line of a new entry automatically becomes its title.
• Sharing now shows who you share your journal with.
• Fix: typing below photos made the text jump to the top.
• Fix: the menu on iOS 26 and the Participants screen work as they should.

### 1.1 — 2026-10-14

• Map: see your entries on a map and find memories by place.
• Photos the way you're used to: swipe down to close, pinch to zoom, and share or save them to Photos.
• Optimize iPhone Storage: originals stay in iCloud, with a lighter version on your iPhone.
• Location and weather are added to new entries automatically.
• Add videos, rename and delete tags, and shake to undo.
• A calmer editor with a single bar above the keyboard.
• Fix: a photo could disappear if you typed right after it.
