### 1/5 — Awful

*2021-08-23, version 7.0.8*

What a terrible disappointment! I couldn’t wait to remove this app ASAP!

### 1/5 — Hemmings app was great … this is not worth the download

*2021-08-20, version 7.0.8*

They went from great app to who or what is Hemings or Hemingway? Who cares?!

### 1/5 — New App

*2021-07-29, version 7.0.8*

This new App format is useless. I’m out! If there was a rating for “ no stars” this would get it!

### 1/5 — The app is dead - unsupported

*2020-08-16, version 7.0.8*

As the entire world goes digital, Hemmings seems to have decided to go backwards. The app is a dead end. Asks you to allow them to send you updates and there is nothing to the app - a single picture of an old car, and that’s it - nothing to click. It’s just dead.

### 1/5 — Used to be a Great App

*2020-03-08, version 7.0.8*

Won’t open, no longer works. I expect a whole lot more from Hemmings (like getting what I paid for).

### 1/5 — I love the magazine, but it doesn’t work

*2019-11-06, version 6.0*

I have an active subscription but can not download issues. Apple won’t refund, they just send me to Hemmings. Hemmings only answered one of my emails. They told me to click the cash button and to contact Apple if I wasn’t happy and wanted a refund. There isn’t a cash button but my emails saying so were ignored. Catch 22 with the companies pointing the fingers at each other.

I’m a long time customer and very disappointed in the almost total lack of support from Hemmings. This is a great magazine but I don’t recommend paying to not be able to read it :(

### 1/5 — Please Update

*2017-05-14, version 4.1.0*

This app needs an update to continue to work on future versions of IOS. All Hemmings apps NEED TO BE UPDATED!

### 3/5 — Classic Car sub app need updating

*2017-04-15, version 4.1.0*

Apple is sending alerts that this app should be updated in order to keep working.
Slowness in loading is frustrating; Top Gear, Consumer Reports load fast, so you can start reading much sooner.
John, subscriber for many years.

### 1/5 — Rip off

*2016-11-23, version 4.1.0*

I bought an issue in this app and got 6 pages...I want my $4 back!

### 1/5 — There could not be a worst app

*2016-02-03, version 4.1.0*

Never works.

### 1/5 — This application is garbage. Magazine is great...if I could actually read it

*2015-08-12, version 4.1.0*

I love the magazine, but please stop rolling out software that crashes! I am working to get my money back from a subscription that won't work with an iPad

### 1/5 — Quarter subscription

*2015-01-18*

I purchased a quarterly subscription and cannot access any magazines.
Do not waste your money.

### 1/5 — Love hate

*2014-11-27, version 4.1.0*

Love Hemmings. Hate this app. Its sole purpose is to sell publications. If you want to buy their publications, this app is for you.

### 2/5 — excellent magazine layout with annoying lockup

*2014-03-12, version 3.5.2*

other magazines should NOT use this as a sample

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Totally dysfunctional app.

*2024-09-28*

Wasted subscription. App simply does not work. Will not accept password.

### 1/5 — Got money to waste

*2024-05-09*

If you look at the reviews recent reviews are one star only because that is the lowest. Then look at revision history it shows the great interest Hemmings has in correcting the problem probably because they never review customer problems and they will never contact you about a reported problem. The combination of problems and lack of concern by Hemmings makes this a great place to throw money away

### 1/5 — Why just why

*2024-03-20*

After I bought the subscription I realized that I should have read the reviews first because y’all just did a bad job. I really wish there was a “NO STAR REWVIEW”.

### 1/5 — Hopeless

*2024-03-15*

Works well to bill, it has always been on time. As long as you don’t want to read it’s great. It will randomly will log you out and tell you your log in is incorrect, and you can waste time hopping for support just don’t expect any. Hemmings does not support and points to Apple who points to Hemmings. In other words the purchaser looses. This reviewer is now a former subscriber.

### 1/5 — Hopeless

*2024-02-16*

Works well to bill, as long as you don’t want to read, randomly will log you out and tell you your log in is incorrect, and you can waste time hopping for support just don’t expect any. Hemmings has lost a subscriber.

### 1/5 — Stillsucks

*2023-12-13*

I thought these old reviews of one star and how it was no good would’ve been fixed by now, so I signed up foolishly because all I’m getting is a picture of the newest mag with no ability to get into it and read it. I might as well just wait for the magazinerather than play with this foolishly bad Classic Car app. I’m canceling.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2022-04-25, version 7.0.8*

I’ve lost count of how many times this app has stopped working. No support.

### 1/5 — D.O.A.

*2022-02-01, version 7.0.8*

No fuss, no muss. No kicking or screaming. Unlike the Dylan Thomas poem, Hemmings just quietly rolled over and died. It was a sad death - No one came. (To print you HAVE TO rate it.)

### 1/5 — Dead again

*2022-01-12, version 7.0.8*

Like clock work the app has once again block use. Support is non existent, you pay and maybe you will be able to read, I have fought this buggy and unsupported app for the last time. Requested a refund which is not expected as is any reply from “customer support”

### 1/5 — Dead

*2021-10-22, version 7.0.8*

This app is dead. Don’t bother uploading it.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2016-09-25, version 4.1.0*

If you are a subscriber to Hemmings Classic Car magazine and you opt for the digital subscription this app is awesome.
I can download complete issues, zoom in the articles and photos and enjoy my editions like never before.
Not sure why others have difficulties but it works on my iPad2 and iPad4. The resolution is outstanding.

### 5/5 — Works great

*2016-08-17, version 4.1.0*

Works great on my Air 2. Issues download quickly and display quickly as well. I can flip thru pages as speedily as I could with a paper magazine. I can choose whether to download issues or not and whether to retain them on my iPad or delete once I've read them. So what more do I need? The rest of the Hemmings magazine apps work equally well.

### 5/5 — Digital edition is great!

*2014-07-02, version 3.5.2*

Saves $$, clutter and time.

### 5/5 — As good as it gets

*2014-01-16, version 3.5.2*

Having absorbed my older brother's "Motor Trend"s as automobile reading material and then quickly adding subscriptions to "Car & Driver" along with "Road & Track" all 5 years before I had my drivers license ("Car Life"came later but stopped publishing all too soon), it was apparent to my family & friends that I was infatuated with 4 wheeled vehicles. 50 years later and still infatuated, I'm looking for that special '69 Charger to replace the one that was stolen in '74 and/or a '66 or '67 Riviera because they are drop dead gorgeous and the epitome of the '60s personal luxury cars. "Hemming's Classic Car" is like those cars: the best of its genre; has a great group of writers and puts out a magazine that's always well worth the money. And the delivery with the app is quick and complete. My only wish is for more. Perhaps more material per issue or more issues per year by having some special edition issues on makes and/or types such as "Postwar Woodies" or "Mopar Wagons, 1955 to 1975" or something like "The 1967 to 1974 Muscle Car (Ponycar, Corvette/Cobra, etc.) Wars".

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2013-09-17, version 3.5.2*

Ipad format is fantastic.

### 5/5 — John Clements

*2013-08-17*

I have been a print, now digital subscriber for 5 years or so and have always been delighted with their excellence.

I would like to see foreign vehicles featured occasionally.

Meaning, when there is a "Fords of 1967" article say, include details of what was available in Australia, Europe, United Kingdom, Asia, South America, and South Africa, we had some interesting cars also.

Hemmings should attempt to boost their circulation internationally, here in Australia their publications are available only through a Western Australian Motoring Bookshop, when they should be distributed nationally in newsagents and gas stations etc where car folks can see and purchase them.

I heard of them through the Studebaker Drivers Club Forum, went to their website and subscribed, no way I'd ever have heard of them otherwise.

I recommend their publications highly and would encourage people to subscribe.

### 5/5 — Great Magazine

*2013-06-14, version 3.5.2*

This digital copy is wonderful, I look forward to getting this more than the print version. It's much easier to access these and store instead of years of bulky magazines.

### 5/5 — Great Magazine

*2013-05-19, version 3.5.2*

I look forward to both the digital copy on the road and the hardcopy at home. Never have to miss an issure is an outstanding feature... Content is even better and the pix are good enough to frame.

### 5/5 — Great articles.

*2013-03-06, version 3.1.0*

Been reading the print version for many years digital version is just as good.

### 5/5 — Hemming's Classic Car

*2013-01-20, version 3.1.0*
