But again...don't plan to be at the hospital, airport or your sister in-laws when your starting to download the issues. ### 2/5 — Digital problems *2014-04-14* I enjoy reading my subscriptions digitally but have had a recurring problem with the downloads on various publications. I will do a total download to my iPad and start to read from the beginning when I reach a certain page of the publication and the following page(s) are gray with a spinning wheel equivalent to a Windows hourglass. This is terribly annoying. Contacting the HMN technical support has been less than helpful solving this problem. My "solution" is to delete the digital magazine and then download it again. I have cleaned out the memory on my device and that was not the problem. I like the digital subscriptions but may not renew them when they expire. ### 1/5 — Sloooooowwwww! *2014-02-15* I'll repeat what others have already said; it takes a very, VERY long time to download one issue (12 minutes for the March 2014 issue with a full strength wifi signal!). but to add insult to injury it processes each page after the download which makes reading the magazine almost painful. The reason for it now is I have contacted them 4 times over the last year with no response. They have hundreds of dollars in magazines of mine I can’t get to. So if you want an app that will take care of you get the ZINIO magazine app. I wish I had switched all my buying of Hemmings magazines to them a long time ago. Great support team at ZINIO. A couple of hours to 24 and they have your problem fix. This is a JUNK app don’t get it and buy magazines through it. ### 1/5 — Don’t waste your time and money *2023-02-19* After many attempts to justify the quirky apps and repeated inability to access the online service I am paying for, I have finally pulled the plug. It beyond frustrating for it to constantly allow you to preview the first few pages then ask you to subscribe to continue. I then go to Apple to check my scripts for the 5th time and realize I have already paid. Hemmings go to Motor Trend and copy their process. Enough already. ### 1/5 — Great content, dreadful app *2019-02-01* Hemmings is a great publication...in print. The app hangs up when loading and sometimes does not load at all. If, and when it starts, browsing through an issue can be painfully slow. Navigating through an issue is more difficult than previous versions as some options have been removed. Big pain because it also looses your place when it erases the issue each time. Called customer service and they were no help. Entertaining. Cant say enough nice things about Hemmings, the magazine. Hemmings the iPad app. Well, it could be my iPad 2, but other periodicals that I have load well, don't quit for no apparent reason, and download issues very well. Hemmings the app takes a while to download each issue, but that could be the enormous file. But once an issue is downloaded, accessing it should be instantaneous, like my other periodicals. But it's not. It's feels like its accessing the Internet again (?) for the issue, which is as far as I know sitting in my iPad. Takes a while to open up each downloaded issue. Also, Hemmings the iPad app quits for no reason while I am flipping thru the 500+ pages of this wonderful periodical. I still gave Hemmings a 4 star rating.
