## What is Hengefinder?

Ever seen a sunset perfectly framed by a long street stretching to the horizon? Or the moon appearing to rest atop a skyscraper? These moments are called henges, and Hengefinder helps you find exactly when and where they happen.

ROAD ALIGNMENTS
Find streets where the sun or moon rises or sets directly down the road, like the famous Manhattanhenge. Tap any location on the map and Hengefinder instantly calculates the next date and time a celestial alignment will occur along that road. Works for both sunrise/sunset and moonrise/moonset.

SAURON HENGES
Discover the moment when the sun or moon appears to sit directly on top of a building, like the Eye of Sauron atop Barad-dûr. Pin any building on the map, enter its height, and Hengefinder draws an arc showing every spot you can stand to witness this striking visual effect, along with the exact time it will happen.

PLAN THE PERFECT SHOT
Select any date up to a year ahead to plan for the perfect photo opportunity, or explore what alignments are happening today. Adjust bearings manually by dragging the direction arrow, and browse through an entire year of Henges with the date slider.
