I’ve never felt compelled to write a review for an app - but this one I feel like I need to in order to provide a warning to users… there is no clean ending, answers, etc. That said, within 10 mins I was able to figure out the majority of the storyline. If you’re a big true crime person, this will be a bit predictable for you.

The story is unrealistic no matter how you interpret it and it’s too short. It leaves you wondering “is that all?”. It’s not challenging in any way and it just falls flat. I like the idea but the story didn’t live up to expectations. If they used the same idea for a better mystery I’d definitely give it another go.

This game no doubt took some time to make and it was a fun concept. However after a while it just got old. You can only see the first five entries of the search term so if you get something with 6 or more then you have to narrow it down. There were a series of questions that were just yes and no answers and that was all that was there and I have no idea how anyone got to watch those. So many of the clips were just pointless clips to watch. There is nothing that says congratulations you solved the case or something somewhat rewarding that says you put her in jail and allows you to state your case against her. Games need some finally and something to let you know you actually solved things right. If there were more putting things together or prompts to type things you solved that would be great. 

You can put things into a cue and the database was nice to show what videos you haven’t seen. It would have been nice if you could just click on the database once you watched a video and watch things in sequential order instead of finding a website online that helps you with that. 

Clicking everytime on the keyword search was not pleasant no command+a to type again. Fun concept but needed more. Not very rewarding at all once you spent all that time watching the videos. 

Basically instead of just watching all the videos in order and figuring things out you have to type a word or phrase and put it together. Cool for about an hour maybe two but after that just repetitive and unpleasant with out makers. There are no clues or anything to help you if you get stuck and can’t find some videos either. It is not like it is practical either that you would have to search like that to watch videos from a database. 

I would do a game like this again if they gave you rewards, helped you search other things to solve stuff and made it more interactive then just typing words to find videos in a database. Thankfully it wasn’t too expensive but not worth the time and knowing what I know now I wouldn’t have started the game.

Ma compagne et moi avons était déçu. Pas de fin, pas de grande révélation, juste des clips à chercher via des mots clés jusqu’à que tu sois satisfait. Je préfère regarder des vidéos de true crime. Appeler cela un jeu… je dirais plus un jouet.

As others have said, there is no real ending. I wish I read the reviews before spending money but I didn’t want to come across spoilers. This could’ve been really cool but there is no closure. In the end, you’ve watched a bunch of videos and come up with an idea of what happened but you don’t get the satisfaction of finding out for sure.

As a big adventure game fan I was quite looking forward to playing this. I think perhaps this game has been too hyped up. The writing and story are very hacky, and I think people must have just been so dazzled by the presentation and nonlinear unfolding that they assumed the writing was good? It’s not, it’s very soap opera-y and has nothing much to say about the themes it tries to evoke. The character at one point says “aren’t these all just stories anyways?” which I think we’re meant to consider some kind of profound thesis statement for the game? All well and good, but the game isn’t terribly interested in exploring why people lie to each other and themselves beyond a sutface level “idk this chick’s crazy lol.” Disappointing! Runs great and the search function was a fun hook. Sadly loses its luster when it becomes clear your interpretation/understanding of the footage do not factor into any mechanical aspect.

I came to this after finding ‘Telling lies’ an excellent game building on this one. I enjoyed it and quickly over a few days covered all of the storyline. I have to say that I can back to reviews to check if I was missing any further info/clips but feel reassured now I got the story straight. I feel that the other game built on this. Personally I had everything on subtitle and didnt know there was music so lol! Perhaps it helped as her acting seemed fine to me for the character

Maybe I did something wrong but how the game works is you write something and it will show you the first videos first. Too bad there’s a collection of video’s near the end where they all say yes but they won’t show since it shows the first and too bad there is literally no other word in that sentence. But that’s all they say so literally no matter what you do, you will never win. I think this a glitch only on mobile since writing “yes” doe’s nothing on mobile. I wasted 4 hours on a game you can’t even @00%

Really creative idea. Could have been more thrilling on the whole, but was still great fun. Frankly, I don’t know why so many people here seem to have a problem with the acting - it was absolutely fine.

Das Setup an sich ist schon einzigartig und clever gemacht. Es macht Spaß immer wieder neue Clops zu finden, aber mich hat total gestört, dass es einfach keine finale Lösung gibt. Es ist komplett offen und das fande ich ein wenig schade. Es sicherlich genau so vom Entwickler gewollt, fehlt mir allerdings etwas.

The concept is decent enough but the game just seems to be a very basic search tool with little or no intelligence built in. If the exact word isn’t entered, then no manner of synonyms will help you. This effectively ruined the gameplay for me and seemed at odds with the point of the game itself. At one point there are a series of yes/no answers which are pointless. I suppose the idea was a blind alley, but it was poor. 

Acting was odd and over-egged. That song?? :rolls eyes:

All this aside what really finished this off for me was the lack of a conclusive ending (ironic pun not intended!). I presume this vaguery was meant to keep the idea of multiple endings alive, but this was supposed to unravel a story, HER story; not a subjective interpretation of what could have happened. And the prospect of a sequel $$$. 

After such a good idea began, this turned out to be an overpriced letdown.

Очень скучный геймплей. Сюжет никак не развивается: ты просто смотришь видеофрагменты, подбирая ключевые слова, и всё. Нет механики, предполагающей ведение блокнота следователя, и нет очевидного намёка, нужно ли тебе проходить игру с листочком и ручкой, записывая детали, или не нужно: чётко поставленной задачи нет. Нет подсказок, и на однообразные действия не хочется тратить время: вместо подбора очередного ключевого слова в один момент я просто решила прочитать сюжет в интернете. 
С одной стороны, можно почувствовать себя реальным следопытом, который пытается восстановить цепь событий, имея в распоряжении только архив видеозаписей без какой-либо классификации, с другой - это всё-таки игра, и я захожу в игры не для того, чтобы там было «всё как в жизни».

O “jogo” é 90 minutos de um filme picotado (com interpretação ruim) em trechos de 10 à 30 segundos, que o “jogador” tem que ficar procurando numa engine e assistindo fora de ordem se quiser entender a estória.
Em menos de 10 minutos eu já estava entediado.
Pra disfarçar a chatice do jogo os “fãs” e a “crítica” gostam de dizer que é um jogo único e inovador.
Não, não é inovador. Jogos do mesmo estilo já foram feitos há mais de 20 anos. Alguns exemplos são evidence: the last ritual, phantasmagoria e night trap.
Simplesmente reciclaram algo que não deu certo no passado e vendem como inovação. Porque se não fizer parecer algo intelectual ninguém vai pagar por um vídeo picotado que pode ser assistido na ordem certa no yt.

This game was presented as one of the best games for iOs and it had to be baught. So thought: Why not? I bought the game and I was completly disappointed. This game is so unnatural and feels like a game within a game, like those mini games you could play in gta san andreas while beeing in CJ's home. I cannot recommend this game at all.

Bought this game about 3 years ago and still waiting for support for proper landscape orientation - listed on the official website as a “known issue” and “a fix is in progress” for the last 3 years. The app version history shows the last update was 6 years ago. Can we please get a fix for this or can I please get my money back?

Seriously, why can’t I flip the screen? The whole reason I bought this game at all was so I could use with with my iPad keyboard (so I’m not struggling to tap each letter one...by...one on my touch screen), but evidently the game won’t rotate 180 degrees, even with my screen rotate unlocked.

VERY basic function that just isn’t there. I wish I could refund this.

Est ce que quelqu’un a eu un problème en téléchargeant ce jeu ? Il vient de cramer mon iPad Pro en quelques minutes il y a eu surchauffe l’iPad s’est déformé et ne charge plus. Je n’ai même pas commencé à jouer, l’écran d’accueil du jeu se met à l’envers lorsque je l’ouvre, ça déclenche un bruit dans mon iPad une sorte de vrombissement, l’iPad chauffe très vite et je ne peux pas quitter le jeu. Help please.

There is just one word to describe the creativity of developer - Genius. Way in which Her story unravels is fascinating. Doesn’t matter if you uncover it earlier who the killer is and then try to understand by going backwards or understanding the setup from beginning. It will keep you hooked till the end. Enjoyed living the life of a detective in this simulated world.

Kudos to the dev for raising the bar of adventure/thriller game and yet to have a competitor even after 6 years!

まだプレイ途中ですがとても面白いです。
6年前のゲームですが今遊んでも新鮮さを感じる唯一無二のゲームだと思います。
それだけにiOSばんは日本語訳未対応なのが残念でたまりません。
知らずにダウンロードして落ち込みました笑
ただ言語の壁があっても伝わってくるこのゲームの魅力に、翻訳サイトにお世話になりつつ夢中でプレイしています。
内容は「女性の身に何があったのか800以上あるビデオクリップを見て推察するゲーム」だけど、言葉じゃこの面白さは伝わらないと思う。
考察するのが好きな人におすすめのゲームです。
日本人のかたへ、遊ぶならぜひ日本語に対応しているSteamのパソコンばんを。

制作スタッフのかたへ。
I hope there will be a iOS version with Japanese translation!

Ich musste mir erstmal eine Mind-Map installieren in der ich parallel alle Infos zu Personen, Tathergang etc aufgeschrieben habe.

Am Ende war es dann etwas zu kurz... ich habe allerdings mit Sicherheit nicht alle Videos gesehen. Aber das Konzept ist natürlich genial.

Had to write a review. No perks to doing so like other games. I finished yesterday but I won’t really be done with this story for the rest of my life. People have been debating different pieces of it for five years. Yes the setup is unconventional in a world where everyone is used to being inundated with tasks and puzzles, but the simplicity of it only increases the mental challenge. Try it!

Talvez o melhor do jogo não seja sua história, mas sim a sua quebra dos padrões ordinários dos jogos. Uma nova perspectiva a ser explorada, apresentada de forma cativante e instigadora. Você não consegue parar de jogar até ter acabado o jogo.
