The game is overall very polished and fun for a little while but I had to stop because there was nothing keeping me attached to game. It lacks personality for me. While the characters are cool, they aren’t super attractive or distinct in the way I like. That being said, the game is probably great for people who aren’t as picky as I am. 🤷🏽I’ll be playing Epic Seven instead. ### 4/5 — Characters costume instead of duplication. *2021-09-14, version 1.2.267* Hello! I’ve been playing this game religiously every day for few months now. I really enjoying the content and always look forward to the next summoning banner. However, Instead of featuring an existing character in the game (like Hwaryun), and adding just different niche to it(ghost bride Hwaryun) Why don’t we make those into a costume instead? when you equipped the costume, Hwaryun becomes ghost bride Hwaryun, for example. Its like having a brand new character to play and strategize with. It would feel a lot more rewarding and more fun for F2P players as well. But with that the games become a little monotonous and uneventful. We also need a way to trade coins or level up material for upgrade material. With the introduction of passive awakening it take way to long to level up characters. But most importantly just add something like a free for all where you can vs a computer with the character you’ve collected so far. ### 4/5 — New update complaints *2021-07-30, version 1.2.259* I don’t know if I’m happy or mad about the new update. I’ve put a lot of my resources into awakening most of my hero’s, and now with this new system for awakening them, I have to do it all over again?! What makes no sense is that I don’t even get those resources that I’ve used before the update, back after the update. I’m glad that the awakening system was a lot more simpler than before, but it makes no sense to awaken them again. What also made me mad was that all of my hero’s artifacts were removed! I don’t remember which one was for who now! I’ve been a player ever since the game debuted, but this new update is a big disappointment to me. ### 4/5 — Kind of Pay to win *2021-06-15, version 1.2.252* I liked this game lots in the beginning with even devoting countless of hours, to get as far as I could, but then you hit this road block. You need better character and that’s not much of an issue but it is when events come in and the costumes give slight advantages over certain actions. We can say Crusader Mira Yoo she has two costumes which give her a slight advantage over other elements with her costumes. ### 4/5 — More selections *2021-02-08, version 1.2.222* This game is a masterpiece. From the art to the characters. It is amazing. But I believe that they should add in or replace some of the random SS hero ticket to a pick ticket because it take a lot to get some heros developed and it will help other less fortunate players able get some of the meta dominating units. It could change the random ticket at the end of the month at least. Or even create a returning user login event. ### 4/5 — Very very fun game *2020-08-03, version 1.2.167* I came in to this game with high expectations and to be honest, they weren’t quiet met at first. But as the game has updated and new mechanics have been added, the game has become more fun and the more tedious parts of the game have become quicker and easier to perform and complete. This game appealed to me as an avid Webtoon reader and I loved seeing the absolutely stunning artworks of characters I’ve come to love. The sole reason this review is not five stars is because of the rampant issue of the game crashing. My internet is perfectly capable of handling a mobile game, yet the game crashes without fail several times a day, despite my device containing more than sufficient storage. If this issue can be fixed, then I have no doubt in my mind that Hero Cantare will be the best mobile game I have ever played. ### 4/5 — A really good game. Plain and simple. *2020-07-14, version 1.2.166* It is an idle game, where you can craft and collect your loot after X amount of time. However, unlike most of them, it has a story and has voice actors during the cutscenes. Obviously these cutscenes are not like animated, but it is still very impressive. If you’re a webcomic fan and you have not tried this game out, give it a try. It’s really addicting and fun. ### 5/5 — Yay Anime Game with My Anime ^-^ 5*! *2020-07-08, version 1.2.164* Goes great alongside CrunchyRolls latest Anime releases ÒvÓ! If you’re not watching those you’ll miss out on a lot of the background story of the characters that makes them so loveable! The story is very well planned out, the manga/storyboard design is very nice. As a webtoons game I always figured it would be worth it story wise. Like most games you can inspect the summon banners. However, the images used are grainy and warped. Adding names to the images would be helpful. Gameplay is the usual sit back and watch your hero fight. I have not found any endless modes yet, hopefully they are there since watching the same thing endlessly can be dull. -overheating got fixed uwu ### 5/5 — Noblesse tower 35 a joke? *2020-07-07, version 1.2.164* Did you mean to make noblesse tower 35 harder because if that was a nerf I would hate to see your idea of a buff to content. Lots of good things with this gacha however there is a huge problem with balance. Basically cmira is god tier, insane damage and insane survivability. If units are designed like this it just shows the devs either don’t know what they are doing or the game is going to have absurd power creep. ### 5/5 — Very well done *2020-07-01, version 1.2.164* I’ve been playing Hero Cantare for about 2 weeks and it’s been a really great experience. I’m a huge fan to the Gacha genre and this game is the perfect example of one when it’s done right. Between it’s easy to understand yet engaging and surprisingly in depth gameplay, and it’s f2p format which holds true to the name it’s a well oiled machine that runs like it’s intended. Also if you’re a fan of the WEBTOON a it uses as it’s base it’s even better. ### 5/5 — One of the most fun mobile games I’ve seen yet *2020-06-28, version 1.2.164* I see potential in this game, even though it is already developed with amazing L2D and animations. The gameplay is decent for a mobile game, turn-based attacks with bits of RNG rolled in here and there. I’m surprised by the amount of effort put into the art, with a lot of characters being animated. Are there issues with the game? Not any major ones that I know of other than the fact that you know, gacha. It gives you a choice of SS rank right at the beginning, so you already know it’s F2P friendly. You can spend money to get more in-game stuff, but it’s really optional and gives major benefits for a small price. Now, when it comes to the attacking animations, there are some really underwhelming attacks that have poor animation, but it’s decent for the most part. Other than that, gorgeous art and animations outside of combat. ### 5/5 — All favorite manhua in one place *2020-06-28, version 1.2.164* Fun game and beautiful artwork. Game is quite pay to win if you want to succeed as many quests such as noblesse collab and hero pass must be completed in limited periods of time which is impossible for regular players as the requirements are high. For example the noblesse collab can only be completed with noblesse heroes which we just pulled but now must have fully geared. Impossible for average players. ### 4/5 — It’s great but it needs work *2020-06-24, version 1.2.164* I really like how the game is going so far the artwork is wonderful, the story is interesting, and it’s not a P2W so that also great. The only issue that I have is about the hero information because truthfully I would like to click a character and see what Webtoon comic series it comes from and what type are they healer, tank, attack etc. I understand that I can just click the hero’s skill to figure that out but I feel like that would be easier? That and perhaps something that can help explain to a player on what to do like how to raise a characters rank from A to SS I’m honestly not sure if I can do that, what is needed to upgrade materials where to find the materials etc, and how to do other things like that maybe but otherwise the game is amazing! **Developer response:** Hello Static Boi, thank for your review. This game has simple combat mechanics that doesn’t complicate the formula for competitive pvp. What propels combat and makes it challenging and refreshing is the diverse lovable characters of the game. I can’t help but compare this to Epic Seven and to me I would say this is better because of the f2p aspect and the gacha system. My only negative criticism would be that getting resources for building characters is a pain and repeating hard mode is limited to 10 times a day which I’m not okay with. If I wasn’t limited to farming in hard mode I could have more resources to build and try new characters and explore more characters instead of just sticking to the meta. Again I appreciate all the love that went into this game and I hope to continue contributing to this game...THANK YOU! ### 5/5 — Lots of fun *2020-06-23, version 1.2.164* Insanely fun and always something to do. Game mechanics are very straightforward. The unit shards are interchangeable which is a huge plus. The gear is farmable on a daily basis and has an upgrade system so old gear is never wasted as it can be used to make new and best gear. PvP and pve toons are very different in the meta so choose carefully on what you want to focus on first. Overall this is a solid game for veterans and newcomers, especially newcomers. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Extremely dumb update *2021-07-27, version 1.2.259* I had to give this a one star after the latest update where they decided to change the awakening tree which already existed in a different layout. While I could ignore the foolishness of an unnecessary graphic change what I cannot overlook is that decided to reset all characters existing awakening so now I have to go through countless characters, since I own nearly everyone, and redo all there awakenings for no reason at all... Meanwhile the units that we use for arena get destroyed because they are weakened until we login and notice that the game messed up our previously developed characters. Wasted time... unnecessary... extremely frustrating for a game that is losing people daily. ### 1/5 — I need an explanation *2020-07-28, version 1.2.167* Look i want to say first that i know its rng and luck, but i came here to say that this summoning system is worse than that. I did not mind doing 4-6 summons for my new hero BUT THIS TIME I DID 10 10 PULLS IN A ROW INCLUDING PITY AND NEVER EVER GOT THE NEWEST UNIT IN THIS RECENT BANNER. 10 times in a row and i did not get anything. Now do not give me that excuse that you just didnt hit that 2% or whatever cause thats not true, this is the first time ever this has happened to me and i want to know why didnt i get the unit at pity. Whats worse is that i only spent money once and the rest was my grinding in this game for so long and it is all gone now. Downloaded the game and hopped into the tutorial. Everything looks great so far until I reached the battle tutorial part. That’s when it crashes. Every single time I have tried to get through and it crashes at the same part. Yes, I’ve cleared up space and restarted my phone. What more do I need to do I need to do EDIT: did everything suggested. Still can’t get past the tutorial part. And it seems a couple others are having the same issues as I am. ### 2/5 — I Love webtoons *2021-01-19, version 1.2.222* This game has a lot of potential however the company decides to waste on looking good in stead of actually fixing the game. I really don’t get reward for doing anything in the game there’s nothing different we have world boss but we still get the same rewards what’s the point of putting it in when we don’t get anything different. Hero Cantare has a huge character pool and only 15 maybe 20 are viable. Why would you give A rank hero EX and not give SS hero a EX how does that make sense and if your going to do that at least fix the characters you do have instead of putting out new ones. The story and advent boss cpu are ridiculous hard i never played a game where if leveled up my entire team and still put the right gear on them i still can’t beat them unless i cheese it my friends stop playing the game for this reason and tbh I’m about to stop playing it. I don’t even know why I’m saying this I’m deleting the game ### 2/5 — Account *2020-07-12, version 1.2.164* I’m not sure if their customers service are bad or what but I try contacting them about my account that I accidentally reset when I was trying to logout from it. All I want to know if they can recover the account back or roll over it since I did spend some money on it and I don’t want to lose all my stuff from there. What they sent me was that they made me a new account and I have to make a password for it but how my question here is why do I need a password? Can they recover the account back or can they not? ### 2/5 — Summon banners and combat system *2020-06-11, version 1.2.161* Who thought 2 characters under 1 banner is ok? I went hard body on Crusader Mira Yoo only to pity and end up getting April whatever her face is. So, on top of having to pity now some salt is being tossed into the wound. Thanks game very cool. As for the combat system. You get chips which I then combine to use different moves. While I admit it’s a fresh take on a combat system, but it feels way to RNG in my opinion. I’m trying to raise a team and only have 1 good unit. Opening stones sounded English but in game nope. Gacha rates are supper bad. Lower than a lot of others. Graphics good, it has servers so it’s kind of crappy. It’s one of those cash grabbing things if you don’t win in one server go to the next to spend more. They release this during a cov19 and trying to milk people money that they need. Shows you what this company’s all about. Neat, they have voice in English. Great game but it’s still a gacha and the rates look super low for a 5 star character compared to other gacha. ### 3/5 — Review for free to play players *2020-06-04, version 1.2.159* Great game with nice graphics. Battle system reminds me of FGO card system. Re-roll friendly with nice characters. Semi free to play friendly if it was not sheer pay to win. Story goes from let’s play from 5-0 to warframe scaling in 12-0. The gotchas are fair with a banner pull after 10 pulls on a banner. My review after 7 days playing and a power level of 200k. Advice if you get a selected character ticket get the healer if you are free to play. Play for fun and enjoy a nice game but you will not be competitive period. The graphics are nice, the battle system is a little unique, the UI isn’t cluttered. The main issue I have is hero information. This is a hero collector drawing from various webtoons, so why is there no compendium or any backstory or description of these characters? There’s not even citations to the webtoons they come from so if a player was interested in a character enough to want to read their story there’s no way to find that out in-game. This game is an advertisement for webtoons, so it should at least give us a brief description of the characters and what webtoons they are from. It’s fun to play and also has an interesting plot. Another thing I want to say is that one dude says this company is to money grabby. I disagree because I played multiple other gaccha games that are much more money grabby. You can play this totally free to play and you’ll be good. Do you see other gaccha games that let you reroll without any effort? I don’t think so. Also I am really mad that iOS can’t use codes. The characters, game modes, idle rewards system for the story quests, and everything else is amazing. The voice acting is spectacular. I feel like I really know these characters just through the game alone. The only thing I wish was in the game, was a brief bio about the characters and their history from their respective series. However I tried to switch servers so I can have another account to play with my friends on that server and it glitches every time and makes me do the tutorial and freezes every time!! I can play normal on my main account but it always freezes my other account and I’d like to run two accounts at once but if it keeps freezing I cannot do so! I wish that you are able to reset characters. This game is heavily dependent on resource management. However, I just wish that you are able to reset character that you have spent a lot of resources on. There have been many moments where I got a better character but didn’t have the resources to level them up. I understand that this could ruin the whole grindy aspect of the game. Although, that doesn’t need to be the case. Maybe the devs could implement a system to where you have a limited number of resets. The way they create character and their skill really fit in the storyline from manhwa. Especially the gacha, they have a really high rate. I have never feel disappoint when summon for the unit I like in pick-up cube. The game also have many way to gain the resources that u need without paying any money. They have a lot of events where u can get a free SS unit if u participate. There are still some bug but that not a real problem for me. Overall it really great and the best thing is since it a game collaborate from different manhwa u can play with your favorite character. I alway love when game collab and now there actually a game with all characters being collab.
