## What is Hero911?

This application is restricted only to active law enforcement officers in good standing of a federal, state or local law enforcement agency, or a retired officer in good standing, as defined in accordance with 18 USC § 926C, a “qualified retired law enforcement officer.”

The Hero Network™ is a voluntary, nonprofit foundation of federal, state and local law enforcement officers.  The Hero Network™  forms a Social Protection Network™ dedicated to reducing law enforcement response time to active school shooting incidents.

When installed, the app will alert officers of an active school shooting emergency.  The alerts are sent to all on duty and off duty officers who are in close proximity to the incident. 

The app alerts the officers, displays a mapped location of the school, reports how many uniformed and plain clothes officers have acknowledged the alert AND provides a timer from the onset of the initial alert.

The app is part of a system that simultaneously calls the appropriate 911 call center.

ALL federal, state and local law enforcement officers, including certified retirees, are encouraged to download the app and join the Hero Network™ today!  

You must certify that you are a law enforcement officer during the signup process.  Your signup will be fully vetted before your app will be activated. 

Impersonating a law enforcement officer is punishable to the extent of a felony violation.

Please be aware that continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Basically there’s nothing else like it!   The ability for SchoolGuard app “panic button” and go straight to the cop, on duty, off duty, retired, reserve, if they have the Hero911 app is amazing.

There are Breaking News apps that provide significantly better reports of noteworthy incidents almost immediately after. There are times I don’t receive updates until 12 hrs later if at all using this app. It’s fairly useless.

This app hasn’t covered a shooting since September and doesn’t give adequate notification.
There was a school shooting 3 hours prior to me writing this, no notification, not is it on their page when you click on the US icon at the bottom.

I am a Fed LEO and a Guard member.
The DoD pays for me to have the Dataminer First Alert app, it’s available to others.
Far better sources with numerous setting options.
I have on occasion received notifications prior to dispatched units arriving on scene.

Everyone understand that timely notifications is paramount in active shooter incidents, Hero911 need to step up its game

I have an IPhone 13 Pro Max with the current IOS updates. Now when I click on Hero911 after having it since it came out it just closes immediately.  I went to check because I have not received any messages or update in awhile. I click on the app it goes to the Home Screen and immediately closes.

Just did the update. Once it completed I tried to open the app and it immediately crashed and disappeared. This now occurs every time I try to open the app. Because I did the update I now can no longer open the app. Please help. The app worked fine prior to the update.

I don’t receive notifications until late, or not at all. I tried to log in and it asks for my badge number, but we don’t use them! So now what? I’ve been a member for several years but I don’t find this useful at all especially since there is no “contact us” email to resolve issues like mine.

I can no longer log in! The system does not recognize my phone nor my email!!

So far I find this completely useless and inoperative.

I got this app after my police academy instructor recommended it, saying it was a must for first responders and how you had to be “authorized” to download it. Highly disappointed as I barely receive any alerts of major incidents and usually find out via Facebook news before this ever even goes off. Even when it does go off, it doesn’t provide any detail into the alert. Not worth keeping and don’t bother downloading.

I also am just disappointed that when I receive a notice of an incident that I have to search other sources for information. Even with the new text messaging system, all I get when I click on the hyperlink is the Hero 911 page with a banner saying "info not found."

Fortunately I have not had to test the active shooter notification. With that said, I pray that it works more efficiently and the information portion of this app.

I hope someone at Hero 911 is listening!  Thank you anyways for an excellent concept, and what I hope is the beginning stages of a great app.

I like this App, of course it could be better, but it is a good start.in 39 yrs I’ve been shot at 11 times, with the youngest being 10 yrs old at the time on Sept 3, 2004.  We kept that little 10 yr old locked up until his 21 st birthday, then once released he’s been arrested on felony charges in SE Michigan.
