I wanted to support it by buying the $1.99 no ads plus gems purchase. I want to be the necromancer not fight them. You should also make the other creatures and factions playable. Hell, make them DLC. I’ll buy them separately. But the elf faction, orc faction, beast folk and all the other factions should be playable and interchangeable. Make it so we can mix soldiers too. Like, elves, zombies, gnolls, pixies. I’d rather make a custom army like the old game. ### 5/5 — Not what I thought *2020-10-12, version 1.0.6* This is definitely not what I thought is was going to be but still lots of fun. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Terribly unbalanced and choppy *2023-11-05, version 1.1.5* The nostalgic value is the only thing going for this app; the slow yep difficult to pause gameplay feels slow yet chaotic somehow. You can’t play through the easier levels with new heroes so you have to slam your head against the wall on new heroes. Lightning for some reason shocks your own troops and the trial and error gameplay feels less like a rewarding experience and more like an insulting one. Also why do wraiths/wights full heal when they kill your units that are on autopilot? It’s frustrating losing due to something you have no control over. It’s not really clear how magic works and you have to pretty much figure that out on your own. Also, the selection of troops is arbitrary it seems. Additionally, I’ve been fighting battles, trying to advance beyond the first five shields, and I’m not sure how to get stars to appear on the shield after winning countless battles. After several victories, I reach a point where I cannot seem to defeat their forces no matter what I do or whatever unit I select or whatever spell I use. Some armies just seem to be too hard to overcome.It gets frustrating trying to play some thing only to find that you can’t advance very far ### 3/5 — Angel *2023-10-10, version 1.1.5* I use to play the PC version of this game so I’m not quite use to iPhone version. Bit different from the original game still enjoyable though although I do prefer the pc game more so.
