Ok. Update is completely unusable. Error messages dominate and certainly can’t be used as intended. I’ll actively book vans with another company now. Do better Hertz. Setting up your account is very time consuming. You can’t upload your documents from your photo album, so had to go home so I could scan them. In your agreement you can’t return the van with less than 25% fuel, my van was well into the red! Back was also very dusty, not ideal when picking up a carpet. Lastly, rental was £20, including insurance, Hertz have charged me £40 and have no idea why. That makes this very expensive, it’s only £80 to rent this size van for 24 hours. Contacted them again waited long and they told they haven't got any other options because no other van available,so they have to cancel the booking, I finally locked the van and gone to home at 12:35. live chats talking too mich time to get the reply I have taken off from work for my house moving, I got some friends to help with moving,, they have wasted everyone's time. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2026-07-11, version 5.16.2* We completed all the steps to verify our identity, the app shows everything is verified but the booking fails to start. Customer service won’t respond to our messages. How is that going to work? Support did not understand the issue and could not help at all. I have rent cars many times but this was by faaaar the worst experience. Cant even log in ### 1/5 — Schlechtes Unternehmen und Support *2026-07-07* Ich habe Wochen im Voraus einen Transporter gemietet und dieser wurde mir auch bestätigt, am Tag der Abholung war der Transporter nirgends zu finden, also habe ich in der App geschaut und dort wurde er 33Km entfernt angezeigt. Also bin ich hin gefahren um nicht in die no-show-fee zu geraten. Doch als ich dort angekommen bin musste ich feststellen dass der Transporter bereits defekt und in der Werkstatt war! Ohne eine Information, ich habe das erst erfahren als ich dem Support geschrieben habe. Einen Ersatz habe ich natürlich so spontan an einem Samstag auch nicht mehr von Hertz bekommen. Ich hatte Glück und habe noch bei einem anderen Unternehmen Ersatz bekommen können, der logischerweise auch teurer war. Ich musste erstmal Wochen mit dem Support kämpfen um die Differenz die ich extra gezahlt habe zu bekommen und Sie weigern sich aktuell immer noch mir meine Kilometer zu erstatten die ich zum kaputten Transporter hin und zurück gefahren bin. After wasting an afternoon trying to rent a van online with all sorts of difficulties, I saw a Hertz van on the road advertising the instant var hire service. I gave it a go and it turned out to be the perfect experience. Super easy and accessible, five stars in all respects.
