Give me a cheaper dumb pot and I will be able to cook more efficiently. The software developer should be condemned to one month of attempting to do real cooking with this app. ### 3/5 — Left me down the rabbit hole Hestan Cue! Why? *2024-12-29* I’m beyond disappointed at the lack of support in this product. I purchased three pots and the smart probe. When things don’t work it’s a complete waste of time. You get all the ingredients and everybody standing around you ready to see the magic happened and you can’t get your device to connect. Why come up with such an innovative product and then completely supporting it and improving it. There hasn’t been no update to this app in a full year at this time in 2024. I feel cheated. Any help I also see you haven’t updated this app in 8 months. (which would be way more accurate than the inaccurate slide control on the cooktop). Oh wait, you have to buy your induction cookware $$$$$. You could easily update the app allowing this. ### 1/5 — Beware… *2023-12-22* When it works, it’s wonderful. I’ve made the most superb ribeye steaks using my Bluetooth-enabled pan. But I’ve had it over a year and the app is definitely glitchy. Worse, it stopped working completely now (cannot log in, cannot create an account, cannot open the app past the intro screen)… I tried to report it here and it says the Developer doesn’t allow that feature. When I tried to go to their website for App Support, their server/website cannot be found. Effectively, my pan is bricked and the recipes I saved are totally inaccessible. ### 1/5 — Can’t login or Create account *2023-11-22, version 3.1.23* Just as with the other complaints, I can’t login or create an account by using any means possible. Now, not so much. *2023-08-01* The Cue system is app-based, which means that if the app isn’t working, you can’t use the recipes. They say you can use your own on Control Mode, but what about when you can’t even sign in? The only option is to use them by changing the temperature on the base. You have induction, but NOTHING MORE! By the way, the app isn’t working, so if you’re considering buying the cookware, DON’T. ### 1/5 — Can’t log in *2023-06-06, version 3.1.21* We have tried on two different devices now, using multiple different methods and all it says is that it can’t sign in. Nice system when it works. I have enjoyed using it for fried eggs, scallops, and lots of other great dishes. The app has not been updated in quite a while and now it simply does not work. It said that I didn’t have Bluetooth sharing on (I do) and then that Wi-Fi needs to be connected (it is). It logged me out, won’t let me sign back on and the recipes don’t load. I tried submitting a support ticket but no luck. The biggest problem? I can’t even manually use this as a normal induction system because the app is down. We own two cooktops now and several pans. Every few months though they change something that breaks the app. This time all devices say "bluetooth not authorized" (it is). Im sure they'll fix it or we'll figure it out. I just wish their development team would prioritize caution rather than rolling out whatever features they decided to develop. So user has to be connected to internet, Bluetooth On, AND company server has to be on and working. Except their entire signup process is broken so you cant and your cookware is just a really expensive pot with no smart features ### 1/5 — Useless *2025-11-19, version 3.1.23* We received this pan free with the purchase of a GE Induction cooktop oven. After a long delay, we received the pan. Evidently you need this app to use the pan. It states in the pan instructions not to use this pan in a non Cue enabled oven. Ok, odd, but the app doesn’t work. I have not been able to log in. My wife got to a start screen but that was it. App locked up. Or, thousands more on a Cue supported induction oven. I have been cooking and baking for decades. It is now super easy to add my Cafe Induction Cooktop! Your staff has been very supportive as well when I email. All I all, the app has a ton of recipes and is very well designed. ### 5/5 — Love it! *2021-08-05* This cookware and app have taught me so much more about proper preparations, time, and temperatures that I thought an app could. Only wish it worked in landscape mode, and let me navigate around recipe steps more freely. **Developer response:** So happy to hear you are enjoying the Cue! Your feedback helps us improve and refine the Cue, please keep it coming! ### 5/5 — Almost perfect—Five stars except for. . . (Update below) *2019-10-19, version 2.0.34* . . . When the app crashes. This system is not a gimmick or ploy, it’s the real deal. The recipes are excellent, the instructions clear and easy to follow. The temperatures it sets are perfect for the steps involved in the recipes selected. Almost every meal I have cooked with it has been prepared to perfection, and I am quite experienced and skilled in the kitchen. If you have kitchen skills, this will step up your game, and if you don’t it will give you game. The only reason I haven’t given the app and the Hestan Cue cooking system 5 stars is that the app can crash, and if it does there is no simple recovery path. This is a serious problem if the app crashes during the cooking phase of a steak or pork chop, because while you can restart and skip ahead to that step, the timer is reset to the beginning. In fact, the ONLY dishes that did not turn out absolutely cooked to perfection were those I had to restart the process on, because of the notable lack of a reliable recovery procedure. You can advance to the stage it crashed on, buut then must guess at the right point to interrupt and start over, because letting it run the full cycle will overcook the dish. I would recommend the Hestan Cue system and app for anybody, because when it works, it works like no other kitchen tool on the market, but would caution anybody to be wary off app crashes and the possibility that the app may leave you in the lurch mid-cooking if the application happens to crash. If the company manages to solve the crash and recovery problem, this is a five star product that’s missing only additional recipes and a way to create new ones. I am optimistic that the company will be expanding its recipe book, and hopeful that they will address the “what if the app is interrupted in the middle?” Problem. Those are the only things holding the Hestan Cue cooking system back from being the greatest cooking system on the market. UPDATE: I am bumping my review to five stars, because my sole issues have been addressed. The app now crashes or locks up rarely, and when it does it detects there was a cook in process and offers you. “Resume cooking” option that picks up where you left off. Hands down, the most used product in my kitchen. The real test came with scallops—notoriously difficult to cook, because the window between raw and rubber is among the tightest in cooking. I’ve always done them well, but with the Hestan Cue they are perfect every time. I look forward to expanding my Hestan Cue cookware collection, and am looking forward to the planned saucepan. My dream home would have the full cooktop. Kudos to the Hestan Cue team for addressing this, They have made greatness even greater. ### 5/5 — Love it! *2019-09-20, version 2.0.29* I have been using the Cue for a while now and I love it. I never thought temperature control would make cooking so easy and the recipes are a great source inspiration as well as educational material! I have never been that good at cooking but ever since I got the Cue for Christmas, I just can’t stop cooking at home and the results are truly delicious ### 5/5 — High Quality Cookware *2018-12-23* The cookware was worth the money. High quality pan made of stainless steel. You can use metal utensils without scratching it. Unfortunately, you can’t use it in the dishwasher. There are countless recipes in the app and they have all come out perfectly. I have had some connectivity issues and discovered some app bugs, but the customer support has always been very helpful and gets me back cooking ASAP. I would recommend this product to anyone who likes cooking and making delicious meals. **Developer response:** We're always happy to help if there's any problem! We've heard feedback about the generation 1 pans (not being dishwasher safe, etc) and have recently released generation 2 which are! I think your Cue experience will be even better with the new version cookware. :) ### 5/5 — I’ve never made food this good *2018-12-23* I received this as a gift and couldn’t be happier. The app provides a huge variety of recipes and they always come out great with the help of the smart pan! It makes food mindless and delicious every time.
