But I would say that having some other terrain hexes would be very beneficial. The camera is odd, and doesnt let me easily see everything at once like i should be able to. 2. There are not enough tiles, and it’s pretty limiting. A tile for cliffs would be nice (but not necessary) and more then one type of settlement, too. (On the assumption gold is a settlement) a good and evil type of settlement, like villages and towns and then outposts and lairs and stuff. 3. Add a fill tool. Please. Please, i’m begging you. Filling in a 64 x 64 map with a single tile is rough, and i make maps by filling everything in with water and then adding in islands and things afterwards, making this issue especially prevalent. ### 4/5 — Great for what it is *2019-08-22, version 1.2* If you’d add towns and roads, I’d happily toss you money! ### 3/5 — Nett. Es gibt auf dem Handy keine Konkurrenz aber auf PCs findet man viel bessere Programme dieser Art, wie z.B. den Map Editor von Civ 5. I don’t think that anybody need this App. But you can create your own world. I like Chicken. No way to change colors for solid swaths of land, no markers for cities or terrain (swamps, desert, jungle, etc.) and the map tends to jump around while I’m painting ocean tiles. But a great way to make a barebones environment to convey where your adventures are and where they can go. I would like to see more options for color (pallette selection for the Blue tile, maybe?) perhaps that can be more beneficial to creating more delineated areas of influence or landmass. ### 4/5 — Pretty good *2019-01-07, version 1.2* Pros: aww yeah maps. Tiles are distinctly different colors and easily distinguishable icons. Can change maps dimensions and tile alignment. Very solid. Cons: cannot get the map centered or to scroll. Would also like a tile or two to denote settlements. My main problem is that I can’t get the hex map in the place I want it. Every time I try to move it to the middle of my screen it jumps to a corner then when I try to make the hexes fit the screen it zooms in too far... My other complaint/feedback for the devs is that there is not enough options for filling hexes. I’d like some symbols that can be put into hexes to represent towns, castles, dungeons, caves ect... overall I can’t be too mad at a free product. See if you can use it for your world building. If you don’t like it and have access to a PC, try hexographer. ### 3/5 — too many features missing *2025-02-28, version 1.2* the feature it has — putting colored symbols in a hex grid — is excellent… but too few symbols, no labeling, no population… it has traditional swamp, coniferous forest, desert, hill, mountain, and water symbols. It would be better if there was an undo button, as you can sometimes mess your map up while trying to move around the image. Could also use an export to PDF or PNG. It would also be cool to have a way to highlight tiles to mark cities, villages, paths, or like quest locations and nation borders. ### 5/5 — Wow *2019-05-16, version 1.2* I’m currently designing a hex based war sim and I’ve been having trouble generating a perfect (and easy to use) hex tessalate. I used HexTML on browser and tried a couple of different apps and they functioned, but with great difficultly and low quality. I finished this map (a recreation of the previously created ones) in about 10 minutes (and it has over 3000 tiles). Fairy wonderful app, I would suggest adding support to export entire map to camera roll as an HD image, bc i ended up having to edit the map together in R4VE, a photo app. Other than that minor inconvenience this app is absolutely phenomenal in its simplicity and consistent quality. ### 5/5 — Simple But Free *2018-07-12, version 1.2* This app is a little short on features, but hey, it’s free, and that’s more than can be said for most of the other map-making apps.
