### 4/5 — Helpful

*2026-05-17, version 1.12.5*

The HEY Calendar app is very helpful, especially on the computer. The ability to add to weekly tasks that can then add to specific days is great. I also love that you can you can label days without adding a calendar item and add a background to the day. I use these features mostly as a journal. It would be great to have more flexibility on how I see my weekly tasks, their order, and a full month view. It would also be nice to assign tasks to a day without having to add it as an event.

### 3/5 — A lot of great ideas!

*2025-05-28, version 1.11.1*

TL;DR
- This is a deeply, well-thought-out calendar system with a slight learning curve but absolutely worth a try.
- With Hey Mail, the price is worth it

Here’s how I think it could improve on iOS:
- Rework how event names are displayed in week view. Too much of the event title is cut off to be helpful.

Feature request:
- Calendly-esque scheduling

### 5/5 — SO GOOD

*2024-12-26, version 1.9.0*

Me likely

### 2/5 — New dark icons?!

*2024-10-28, version 1.8.0*

Get us some well-wanted dark app icons and please oh please remove the black background in the light theme!! Act soon 37signals 😊

### 5/5 — Preferred calendar

*2024-10-21, version 1.8.0*

It’s my preferred calendar. Theresa unnecessary features, but the layout and is so much more intuitive then any I’ve used in the past

### 4/5 — Left Google Workspace for Hey

*2024-10-04, version 1.8.0*

I cut the cord last week from Google Workspace - I literally left 30k emails behind, and my calendar (although I had a backup on my iPad). I’m getting used to Hey Calendar the past two weeks. It’s interesting. It forces me to slow down and really thing what I am planning, instead of dumping all my tasks on it. I would say that the only thing that is missing is a task list specific to Hey - their other product Basecamp (which we use) is good, but that is for projects. I need a personal task list too. Other than that it has great features and the interface is very cool. I especially like how they created a timeline of the day from left to right. It better shows me if I am staying up to date with my appointments.

### 5/5 — Huge Time Saver

*2024-09-15, version 1.7.7*

Don’t have to deal with all of the interruptions

### 5/5 — Enjoying as I learn hey calendar

*2024-07-07, version 1.7.6*

The 4-stars are for intuitive guides with instructions to link other calendars.m ensuring I am not missing important meetings.
Navigating hey calendar is as with everything.
However, I haven’t found how to invite others to meetings.

### 3/5 — It’s different in a good way; isolated in a bad way

*2024-06-30, version 1.7.6*

Okay so I completely understand wanting to build for yourself, not for other platforms. However, it’s pretty limiting to have a calendar app that doesn’t sync with the other major services. I have the same critique of Notion Calendar :/

### 2/5 — Half-Done Features, & Little Support

*2024-06-22, version 1.7.6*

I’m not impressed with the Hey Calendar yet. I’m confident that it will improve over time but i’m not really sold on using it yet. I’m less willing to use it compared to traditional OS calendar applications. Why is there no Month view for example? That seems obvious. Why is time tracking divorced from events? That seems like lazy design. I sent off a couple of feedback emails about features that feel half-finished and got pretty bland “Hey Mail doesn’t do that” responses. Yeah, I know. That’s what I said. Still waiting for greatness but this ain’t it yet.

### 2/5 — Innovative thinking again!

*2024-06-14, version 1.7.6*

UPDATE #2: sadly for this update I had to knock a star off. We still don’t have 2-way integration or syncing and we still don’t a good location set where we can view maps and set travel times etc. I wanted to replace the outdated Apple option but I use locations and travel times all the time so for me the Hey calendar still lacks the functionality I would personally want. For me it’s still not a viable replacement for Apple calendar. There are also a few issues with ics files and invites syncing but the developers have been great in supporting my queries. Just not there yet for me ! UPDATE : really poor and slow syncing issues are the big let down for this app, so disappointing all worked well until I went to link my Apple calendar so, so slow to sync events across so updated my review. It needs a few other things sorting like map integration for event locations and the back background on the week view is not in tune with the rest of the app. Most important is the ability to read and write to other calendars. All being said a great calendar to go with best email out there

### 3/5 — Not ready to replace iCloud

*2024-06-02*

I rely on iCloud and have for many years, for not only my own calendars, but my families, calendars, which we share four of them. In order for this application to be considered by me as a full replacement, the following issues that I have at minimum will need to be addressed:

- offline support. That’s the bad side of having an electron web app is I can’t even create or modify entries while off-line, I just get an error that the Internet is down and to retry. Bad. I would like to be able to use full functionality without synchronization until my connection comes back, then make all the changes.

- recurring meetings. I am very limited in this regard, and I cannot create a meeting for say, the third Thursday of every month. The odd thing is when I imported .ics events from my iCloud calendars that had those recurred times, they did come over, but they are not edible, so it is possible it’s just not implemented.

- Integration with Apple Watch. This is a complete non-starter for me without a complication and application.

- Overall some nice ideas, but needs a lot of work.

### 5/5 — The calendar I’ve always wanted

*2024-05-31, version 1.7.5*

It’s the best calendar. I know this because I’ve used other calendars and they are not the best. This calendar is #1 and then probably #2.

### 2/5 — Can’t edit calendars

*2024-05-27, version 1.7.4*

How is it possible to release a calendar app that isn’t able to edit calendar events from non-app-based existing calendars? This is a wild lack of functionality that I don’t think I’ve ever seen from a calendar app and essentially makes this a useless product for anyone on the google workspace, Apple calendar, or other provider’s email services looking for an all-in-one manager. Really disappointing and unusable until this major feature hole is addressed.

### 4/5 — Using as my primary calendar

*2024-05-22, version 1.7.2*

Overall, it’s a great app. My favorite part is the “sometimes this week” feature. I didn’t think I’d use it at first, but now I really love it.

My only dislike is the inability to write to apple or gmail calendars (especially apple). If the developers could somehow get apple to let them add that functionality, it’d be 5 stars.

### 2/5 — Going offline …

*2024-05-16, version 1.7.0*

I canceled my subscription while planning a trip to a location where internet would be spotty when I got there & while traveling.

I feel uncomfortable not knowing if I can access emails related to travel on a plane with no internet. I love HEY but I’ve been stung once and now print emails or save as a PDF.

But HEY Calendar schedules might also suffer from this. I literally do not want to test and validate that I’ll need internet to see an itinerary or events in general.

This isn’t a feature that hasn’t been implemented, it’s a flaw.

### 4/5 — Please Add...

*2024-05-16, version 1.7.0*

Calendar is getting better and better BUT please add an option for event repeat to occur on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th [insert day of week] of the month. For example, "repeat every 1st Friday of the month." This missing item is my one reason it's not 5 stars.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — iPhone 16 Pro: text at bottom of login screen cut off

*2025-07-20, version 1.11.5*

On iPhone 16 Pro, the line under "Don't have an account?" is cut off. I can't scroll down to see it. I can't read what it says and clicking the tops of the letters just barely hit-able brings me to a calendar?? What is that text supposed to say? I don't have an account so it's relevant information for me.

### 1/5 — Why does every job to be done take so much effort?!

*2024-12-20, version 1.9.0*

I need to be able to manage Google Calendar events, and it’s too slow to navigate. I also want more control over tasks!

### 1/5 — Get the basics right

*2024-04-26*

Drag and drop appointment, be flexible quickly and sync with other email clients

### 1/5 — App still bad

*2024-04-26, version 1.6.1*

Notifications don’t work at all. The notify x mins before settings don’t update when I change them. Calendars with many events make the app slow to a crawl even on my iPhone 15 pro.

### 1/5 — Too buggy & bad support

*2024-04-16, version 1.6.0*

Was waiting for a long time for calendar feature but was disappointed when it was launched as it is too buggy. Contact with support team didn’t help apart from some fancy thank you email.

Product documentation is pathetic and it’s impossible to figure out some features, a lot of bells and whistles but not a great product.

### 1/5 — Basic For the $

*2024-03-09, version 1.3.0*

UX and features are basic at best, not groundbreaking. Suite of apps isn’t worth the cost price.

### 1/5 — Not Many Features, Buggy

*2024-02-01, version 1.0.2*

Edit: today, I received notifications for events from two weeks ago, as if they were happening today. After tapping one of the notifications, that app got stuck. None of the buttons responded. One star now since even the basic features hey calendar does have don’t work right.

Original review: The app is lackluster. You can’t add a shared Apple Calendar. Many of the highlighted features feel gimmicky. It’s undercooked. It’s two stars for now. If it felt more mature, then three. If it was more mature and worked with other calendars properly, five stars. One big positive (that is not related to the app) - HEY support. I wrote in with a question and they were so helpful. 5 stars for support, 2 stars for the app in its current state.

### 1/5 — Frustrating

*2024-01-20, version 1.0.1*

Why can events only be assigned to 15 minute increments? What if I have an event running from 13:10 to 13:50? What kind of calendar app is incapable of representing this novel concept?

Why do sequential events STACK on top of each other so you can’t see them?

Why is there no way to quickly jump to a specific month or year? Why are we forced to scroll WEEK BY WEEK?

I’m going straight back to apple’s calendar

### 1/5 — Appointments don’t appear on calendar

*2024-01-19, version 1.0.1*

I added both reoccurring and one time appointments to the calendar. Where are the? I don’t see them on my phone app. I understand that features like transit time may come later, but I would expect to see appointments on the calendar? The drop down times are on the half hour and changing to more precise times is a little clunky.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t Work

*2024-01-18, version 1.0.1*

I always want to check out calendar apps. But I can’t log in with Google. Or log in at all. No directions on what you’re supposed log in with or a sign up page. All I see is This Day in Apple or something. FAQ said to copy and paste (really!) a link to individual Google Calendars but it doesn’t allow a paste option. Worthless 🤷‍♂️

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Best Calendar App on the Market

*2026-04-14, version 1.12.5*

I’ve used quite a few over the years. Because of all the features, which are constantly improving and expanding, this is the best. Period.

### 5/5 — All the tools in one place

*2026-03-22, version 1.12.4*

All the right parts that I need in my calendar, plus simple to dos that keep me focused, as well as tools for tracking habits, logs, and more.

### 5/5 — I now like managing my time

*2026-03-17, version 1.12.4*

I used to struggle keeping my time organized as I always had sync issues and didn’t quite trust the system - even though it was Apple

Now with Hey email and calendar it all just works - I love it - I feel good accepting commitments and planing my day

Highly recommended

### 5/5 — Enjoying more and more

*2026-02-03, version 1.12.1*

I’ve been a HEY email customer since launch, but didn’t really “get” the calendar app. It wasn’t as sleek looking as Apple calendar, and not as functional as Google calendar. But I persevered, and honestly I’m now a total convert. Adding images to days of the week helps me get perspective on what’s coming up. The countdown timer to events is useful for that too. I also love the weekly to-dos tab that rolls over. So good for jotting stuff down that you haven’t been able to get to. The habit tracking is perfect for what I need. Downloaded Atomic Habits own app and it was way too complex. The journal is there so I now use it. And the iOS widgets are great. What else can say. If you’ve got HEY email, use it!!

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2025-10-05, version 1.11.10*

Totally unique and beautiful way to approach daily planning and the calendar. Well done!

### 5/5 — Smoothest & easiest email experience

*2025-09-25, version 1.11.8*

I absolutely love Hey calendar & email. It is 100% worth paying for because it gives me the kind of control over my email that I long wanted and searched for and the kind of calendar experience that I wanted but could never find. I’ve been using it for a couple of years now and it so suits my needs that I don’t even look at what else is available - It’s that good!

### 5/5 — | i use it for the timetracker

*2025-08-22, version 1.11.6*

comes bundled w/ hey email

### 5/5 — Love everything basecamp does

*2025-05-20, version 1.11.1*

Great calendar and even better email

### 5/5 — Different. You’ll come back to it.

*2025-05-10, version 1.11.1*

Different. You’ll come back to it.

### 5/5 — In love with this calendar

*2025-03-26, version 1.11.0*

There's a subtle genius to the "day view", which bookends my appointments and plans between fields of starry night sky.

I'm gently reminded of my connection to the natural cycle of day & night as the "line of the present" moves across the events I've planned. The visuals are particularly striking in dark mode.

Thanks for building this beautiful and useful tool!
