Doesn’t work at all. ### 2/5 — Paying the $5 should exempt your guests from ads *2021-04-11* My friends complained that they still had constant ads on their phones even though I paid for the upgrade. They’re not willing to pay $5 each to get rid of the ads, so they have refused to include GameApart in our weekly game night rotation because we have ad-free options that are either free or only require the host to pay. So now I’m out five bucks and we’ve just gone right back to Jackbox, Use Your Words, and Codenames only, which we’ve been playing for a year. Incidentally we’ve also repeatedly had issues with bugs, so really just all-around not a good experience. Customer service was receptive to the bug issues though. ### 2/5 — The ads are killing this app *2021-02-27* I don’t review a lot of games, so take it for what it’s worth. I don’t mind paying for an app, but I’m darn sure not gonna sit through ads coming and going into the game that you want me to play. I can understand the need to plant a couple into the free version. But to put so many in from the get go? It makes this unattractive from the start. And certainly not worth the five dollars that you want each of my players to pay in order to play the game. So much for family fun night across the tri-state area. **Developer response:** Hi there! Thanks for taking a minute to leave us your feedback. We've built our platform with the intent of ads being a necessary but unobtrusive part of the experience to subsidize the free version, and some of our games have no ads whatsoever. Anyone who choses a paid subscription should never be served ads at all. If you're willing to connect with us at concierge@gameapart.com we'd love to chat with you 1:1 and get more direct feedback on your experience to see there are opportunities to improve the user experience. ### 2/5 — Buggy :( *2020-12-31* This platform would have been a lot of fun if it weren’t so buggy. 7 gamers attempted to play GIFs Against Society, but players repeatedly got deleted from the game through no action of their own, only the game didn’t recognize that they had been deleted, which hung up play while the game waited for the (deleted) player to make a move—multiple times we had to kill the game and start over. We were all using iPhones, and the host had the game opened in Edge browser. Hopefully there will be some fixes, because game play was fun while it lasted. **Developer response:** Hi! Would you mind reaching out to us (help@gameapart.com or any social media channel) with the approximate date/time of your game so our team can dig into what happened? ### 5/5 — Best for lockdowns *2021-07-14* Best game app EVERER ### 5/5 — A new way to spend virtual time with friends *2021-07-05* We are all pretty sick of social distancing by now and zoom (or whatever you use) hangouts have become stale as small talk virtually isn’t as fun as in person- this app lets you play cards against humanity and other games with your friends while still chatting- it’s like having our usual game nights again! We also plan to use this when we are back to hanging out in person like jack box as something new and not high stakes to play ### 5/5 — Awesome way to spend time with family and friends! *2021-04-29* This app is amazing, it’s a great way to connect with friends and family during lockdown, and will be convenient to use after! Instead of driving over to a friend’s house, you can play GameApart from the comfort of your own home, and can have as many drinks as you want without having to worry about driving or catching an Uber! Connecting virtually is definitely going to be the norm from now on, and GameApart makes it super easy and fun! **Developer response:** Playing games with our friends but not having to GO anywhere is one of our fave things about this, too! The available games are so fun and I felt like everyone was over at my house for a game night.
