### 3/5 — Missing Magazine

*2025-04-12, version 26.0*

I would love this more if I received my copies in the mail. Where the online is nice being older when a copy doesn’t come to my house why am I not being sent that copy again?

### 3/5 — Bookmarks please

*2023-07-29, version 22.0*

I like having digital copies of HGTV and I love being able to click on a product and ZOOM to the website. Downloading issues to read offline in my downtime is fast and easy.
Unfortunately, there is no way to bookmark a page you want to refer back to. The software has all sorts of weird ways to try to save something you see in the app ( like a pair of scissors for “clipping” from a page or links to save it elsewhere in a limited manner), but those are just awkward and way too many steps. And it means saving stuff elsewhere (and I will never remember to look at it again).
A simple bookmark, like when I read digital books, would just be easier.
I find myself reading the magazine more often through my library’s app instead because I can bookmark pages. That just works better for me and it’s easier. One touch on the upper right hand corner and it’s done. They have a bookmark menu for the item you’re reading and it’s great for quick reference.
Please institute bookmarks!

### 4/5 — Lovely, needs a few tweaks

*2020-08-13, version 21.0*

I love having all the issues on hand. I’m always referring back to my favorite issues.
I do wish we could bookmark our favorite pages. It would take away the frustration of digging when you go back to those favorite bits.
Also, I agree with the others: the screen is way too touchy. Trying to move back and forth in a magazine becomes an exercise in angry yelling when it instead clicks out to whatever ad your fingers was vaguely near. I click on the ads all by myself. I don’t need the algorithm to trick me into it.

### 1/5 — So nonsubscribers get the magazine first now?

*2020-01-06, version 16.0*

Apparently HGTV subscribers are second rate since the print version is available in stores before we receive it here.

### 1/5 — Disappointed!!!!!🤬🤬🤬🤬

*2019-11-13, version 16.0*

I I have been a subscriber r for years n can not access mag on my phone!!!!!!

### 1/5 — Cannot view on my iPad, and horrible website log on process!

*2019-09-16, version 15.0*

This is the worst!

### 1/5 — Dishonest

*2019-06-30, version 6.1*

App locks you out of magazines before your subscription expires.

### 1/5 — Buyer Beware!

*2018-11-24, version 6.5.1*

Don't get involved with this. Buy it on the newsstand! After several years of subcribing I decided to take a break for a while and I have been trying for over a year to cancel this subscription and it just keeps showing up. I've tried canceling online and by calling Hearst Inc. and I've been assured that I'm cancelled then it shows up on my bill again. This is a nightmare and I regret the day I subscribed. I see the magazine everywhere, it would have been so easy to purchase a copy occasionally and not get stuck in this twilight zone.

### 1/5 — A good app has been ruined

*2018-09-27, version 11.0*

The black boxes at the top and bottom of each page have reduced the readable portion of each page to an unacceptable extent. They serve zero purpose except to frustrate.
Furthermore, updating my iPad Air 2 has resulted in an app that doesn’t work — again. The cover opens and that is it. Am I supposed to dump and reinstall again? I’m getting ready to cancel and dump for good.

### 4/5 — Glitches can’t swipe pages, crashes, awful

*2018-09-07, version 11.0*

This app used to work great. Now it constantly glitches. You can’t move between pages, it crashes, opening contents closes the magazine. Half the time I can’t get passed the cover.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Disappointing and frustrating

*2024-09-17, version 22.0*

I love the magazine but the app has a lot of issues. I often have to remove it and download it again and again but even then it has many glitches preventing viewing of the content.

### 1/5 — Terrible Interface

*2024-03-06, version 22.0*

It is difficult to load pictures

### 1/5 — Bad app with bad customer service

*2023-05-23, version 22.0*

I continuously have problems with this app. I write to the developers they give me a recommendation which does not work, and they never tell me what is wrong. Right now I cannot access my magazine, because when I click on it all that comes up is a blank page with boxes and little blue question marks inside. I have been trying to get this issue resolved for months. Yep you heard me months. And this happens all the time it happens every year. Something goes wrong with this app. I’m done.

### 1/5 — Ordered hard copy only getting online version

*2021-09-30, version 22.0*

I ordered hard copy but only getting online version which I can’t read. Old , almost 70, and very computer literate but can’t read HGTV online.

Please stop my online account and send me hard copy ASAP.

Thank you.

*2020-09-22, version 21.0*

Articles were terrific, but way tooo many ads

### 1/5 — Slow

*2020-09-18, version 21.0*

The app is a LOT slower than other APS. It is so slow that it is useless. Do NOT pay for this.

### 1/5 — App doesn’t work

*2020-05-09, version 18.0*

I love HGTV magazine but this app is super buggy and I can’t access all of the content in the magazine. I bought a year subscription and it has been a headache. MAZ magazine doesn’t feel the need to fix their app to make sure it works. Waste of money!!!

### 1/5 — Hgtv

*2020-01-09, version 16.0*

I lost all my previously paid subscription magazine and cannot get any new months in current subscription unless I pay for each.
