### 4/5 — App Is Lacking

*2024-12-01, version 7.2.10*

Ignore my previous note about not being able to make the text large with a gesture as in a browser. I can do that now. However, it still would be better if I could tap on an item in Contents & the app take me there. Navigation is lacking.

Some of this I mentioned years ago & nothing has changed.

The magazine however is the best of its kind.

### 4/5 — Hi-fi magazine

*2021-01-10*

Very informative magazine about hi-fi subjects being devices or albums.

### 2/5 — App keeps on crashing

*2019-11-20, version 6.0.0*

Every time I open the app it crashes and then even after a few tries before it opens properly. Why? None of my other apps do this.

### 4/5 — Works Well

*2018-10-13, version 6.0.0*

The app works well on my 2018 iPad. Would be better if I could tap on an item in Contents & the app take me there. Navigation is lacking.

### 4/5 — Pocket Mag app

*2016-07-24, version 4.9.89*

This works better than using the online version from Hifi News. The index, scrolling and zooming is better. There is one issue, using the online mag you can see any issue in the archive, with this app you can only see the issues that you have downloaded from the date you subscribe, you have to pay for back copies.

### 5/5 — Great magazine

*2016-03-06, version 4.9.89*

This is hands down the best audio magazine I read. Great equipment reviews and great record reviews. I look forward to every new issue.

### 5/5 — Still the best

*2016-03-06, version 4.9.89*

Have been reading ( and subscribing) since 1977. Have an iTunes subscription these days. Still Love it as it saves waiting for the mail in the weird and wonderful places I have lived around the globe. For me it is still the best main stream hi fi mag out there.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2016-03-06, version 4.9.89*

Best hifi mag on the market

### 5/5 — Love this magazine

*2016-03-05, version 4.9.89*

Always look forward to the next issue. App works well, downloads quicker with the new update.

### 2/5 — OK for back issues, can't print articles, poor value

*2015-03-20, version 4.9.35*

Title says it all really. I don't have a subscription, so can't comment on the issues that others have noted, but it works OK for buying back issues or new issues individually, which I have done whilst laid up after surgery. The problem is, you can't print out articles of interest, so if you can't file away paper copies of individual articles (unless I've missed something?).

Compared with buying a paper copy, then, this is poor value for money.

### 5/5 — First rate

*2015-03-17, version 4.9.71*

Easy to use. A nice way to read less common magazines.

### 5/5 — Doesn't work

*2014-12-10, version 4.9.54*

I have been a subscriber for a number of years but an 'update' about 4-5 months has stopped the app recognising I have subscription. Apple / Hi-Fi News is happily collecting my money every month but seem unable to sort this out...

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Version 6.0.0 no longer works

*2020-11-02, version 6.0.0*

On iPad Pro. Have tried removing and reinstalling a number of times with no success. Please advise.

### 1/5 — Simply Doesn’t Work

*2020-10-24, version 6.0.0*

What can I say. The app claims I have a network problem and won’t let me purchase any issues

### 1/5 — IOS 14 drains battery

*2020-10-24, version 6.0.0*

On IOS 14 the app constantly pops up an error cannot connect to network and also drains the battery of my iPad Pro 11 inch rapidly. This is probably caused by some issues constantly trying to update and show the spinner perpetually. This occurs for the last 8 issues or so Mar 2020 onwards.

Selecting restore purchases from settings pops up a selection dialogue but none of the buttons worked.

I just renewed my subscription after having it on hold for a year and would like to read the magazine

### 1/5 — Lost sync with AppStore

*2020-09-08, version 6.0.0*

It used to work OK, but now it refuses to sync with the AppStore so I can’t purchase any new editions.

### 1/5 — I Can’t buy & download March 2020 issue

*2020-02-15, version 6.0.0*

I Can’t buy & download March 2020 issue

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2016-01-03, version 4.9.71*

Great magazine, but this app does not work! Save your money and buy the paper version.

### 1/5 — .

*2015-02-03, version 4.9.71*

New a app total stuff up, lost access to all my issues and it' disappeared from my newsstand

### 1/5 — Ein tolles Magazin, leider funktioniert die App sehr unbefriedigend.

*2014-11-29*

Meine Abos werden nicht mehr angezeigt, meine gekauften Ausgaben können nicht geladen werden....

### 1/5 — Doesn't work

*2014-10-03, version 4.9.54*

EVERY month I have to email the administrators to get my magazine despite my annual subscription on direct debit. Really don't bother...
And Apple why do I need a bloody nickname to write a review.

### 1/5 — Multiple issues.

*2014-05-19, version 4.9.48*

Previous versions of this app worked well but I'm unable to download the latest copy of the magazine since updating to version 4.9.48. Also, neither the Restore Purchases nor the Login features work despite being able to log into the web site. Better testing of updates is required.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Februar 2025 Version kaputt

*2025-01-20*

Die Februar 2025 Version wird nicht angezeigt und kann nicht heruntergeladen werden. Bitte reparieren

### 5/5 — Great writers

*2023-11-06, version 7.2.2*

Great magazine for Audiophiles read ‘‘em and weep!

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2022-08-28, version 7.0.34*

Excellent magazine first class Album and HiFi reviews, brilliant app very easy to navigate.

### 5/5 — The best audio magazine

*2021-02-15, version 6.4.0*

Excellent articles and reviews that I find more enjoyable and informative than the two major publications from the US.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2021-01-12, version 6.4.0*

Easy to use app. All your paid for issues are easily accessed and if you are missing any, just pay and download. What can go wrong? Ideal way of keeping all your favourite Hi-Fi content in one place.

### 5/5 — Content is the key

*2021-01-11, version 6.4.0*

I love the content of this mag. In my country digital print is the only option. So the app is the only way.

### 5/5 — A great magazine

*2018-10-11, version 6.0.0*

I really look forward to receiving my copy each month. Living in Australia I receive a digital copy which works well on my iPad.

Seeing the new models and upgrades which occur each year and reading the reviews is something I look forward to. I especially enjoy the music reviews as I have discovered a number of new artists over the last two years.

Keep up the good work.

### 5/5 — Trustworthy Reviews

*2018-09-11*

This is the only audiophile magazine I fully trust. The no-nonsense reviews do not sound like ad copy, although the price points for the equipment under review do seem to be climbing out of the reasonably affordable range.

### 5/5 — HFN&RR A Great Read

*2017-11-25, version 4.9.89*

This is a great read, with some really interesting and thought-provoking articles alongside the usual reviews/rubber stamping of selected hi-end brands. Highly recommended...

### 5/5 — Hi-Fi News and record review

*2016-12-21, version 4.9.89*

I love this distinctive yellow covered magazine that I discovered sometime around 1965/66 and that it has forced me against my will to spend thousands of pounds/bucks on this all consuming hobby that entails endless upgrading to achieve audio Nirvana.
