### 4/5 — Good God

*2021-03-05*

Don’t subscribe to pocketmags, 5 mins and still waiting to load...will try to unsubscribe from this shambles

### 4/5 — Print much better

*2018-12-03*

The print magazine is beautiful. The digital version is clumsy at best.

### 4/5 — Overall Very Good

*2016-09-27*

For the most part, Hi-Fi+ gives the reader good, unbiased, and fair reviews on many brands of hi-fi components. However, they often miss mentioning a multitude of lesser known manufacturers who make great audio products. In this regard, they are hardly any better than TAS, but much better than Stereophile, which has declined to a point of becoming practically worthless. There's plenty of room for improvement, but Hi-Fi+ is well worth reading.

### 3/5 — Rate this App

*2014-02-18*

I'm only writing this review in the hope the 'rate this app' pop-up will go away and let me read the great magazine I had previously purchased.

### 5/5 — Funktioniert!

*2013-07-20*

Die App funktioniert bei mir ohne Probleme. Die Inhalte entsprechen exakt der Druckversion. Für unterwegs und als Alternative zum importierten Printprodukt sehr zu empfehlen.

### 3/5 — HiFiplus difficult to read online

*2013-07-16*

The Mix of text and advertising makes it difficult to read the magazine on the iPad.

### 4/5 — Wish App was same standard as mag

*2013-06-28*

Really like HiFi+ and enjoy the content and writers. Wish the app was better and more reliable.

### 5/5 — Excellent way to read the mag and keep copies handy

*2013-06-12*

Not only is the mag easy to read but I can carry as many back issues with me as I like. Splendid.
No crashes from the latest versions

### 5/5 — Informativ

*2013-06-06*

Für HiFi und Musikfreunde eine echte Alternative zu deutschsprachigen Magazinen - Empfehlung! Gut les- und nutzbar. Würde mir nur noch einen größeren Musikteil wünschen.

### 5/5 — Fair price

*2013-06-05*

Good mag at a good price. I wish more mags used this model

### 5/5 — Great app

*2013-06-04, version 4.9.10*

Always has some of the best equipment available and often reviews kit which I wouldn't have heard off without them.

Equipment tends to be on the expensive end but mainly because it is the best.

### 2/5 — Mediocre

*2013-04-09*

Download times are bad!

### 5/5 — Great HiFi app

*2013-03-18*

Great HiFi app and a truly great magazine!

### 3/5 — Stead App

*2013-02-16*

Enjoy using the App. Not had quite the same issues with it crashing as others users so cannot complain too much. Nothing remarkable tbh but not sure what extra to expect from a digi mag. Keep up with the bug fixes.

### 4/5 — Good app

*2013-02-05*

Basically no wood is used to write awsome articles on high end hifi. The app can be slow but articles require you to read at slow pace instead of U S mags which throw alot of specs at you. Hi Fi plus is more personal about music and the developement of highend audio.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Crap

*2016-02-29*

Paid up until Oct. 2016 and can't get my issues on my new iPad pro. Never had any luck with PocketMags support. Stick with Zinio.

### 1/5 — Subscription problems

*2013-06-06*

After my initial download, haven't been able to receive any more issues on a 1 year sub. Doesn't appear to be a fix with this bunch. Hard to say what the mag is like with only 1 magazine downloaded.

### 1/5 — Awful app

*2013-02-09*

Couldn't agree more with the previous review. The app keeps on crashing and this never happens with other apps I have. It is now impossible for me to open up this app and to retrieve previous editions I bought. This is a pity given the magazine is good quality. So as said by the previous reviewer get your act together with this app!!!

### 1/5 — Great Magazine, awful app.

*2013-02-05*

The magazine is a firm favourite of mine, covering manufacturers you will not see elsewhere.
The problem is the app, which falls over on a regular basis. Pages freeze, won't expand, or leave the bottom of the page not visible.
This is not just with this magazine, as I currently am being asked to pay for another magazine, even though my subscription with that publication does not run out until January 2014!
Come on Pixel Mags, get your act together or I will go back to the paper version!

### 1/5 — Does not work!

*2012-06-23, version 4.1.7*

Magazine appears to have all empty pages!!

### 1/5 — Should be much better

*2012-06-15*

The content has never been in question, I have been buying the paper version since issue 20. After 60 issues I thought I'd give the app a try. Unfortunately I have been disappointed. It is a pure replication of the print version with a very poor interface. Dynamic resizing of text to match the layout of the pages is non-existent, one can merely zoom, and this is a very poor experience as the reaction is slow so you frequently zoom beyond the point you wish to reach. It does not utilise the display of the new iPad so a full page shot is unreadable. Come on, should be way better than this.

### 1/5 — Update it

*2012-04-18*

Can't view cover

### 1/5 — /do not want

*2012-03-20*

Hi>Fi+ is my favorite print mag for audio, but this digital implementation is sub-par, at best. It has a really horrible, low-res page turning animation that cannot be disabled in settings. Please, either use the iBooks page-turning or add the ability to disable your current version. The UX in the app feels very non-Apple; slow, imprecise, and sloppy. The total deal-breaker here, though, is the resolution of the text at default zoom level. I'm on an iPad with better resolution than my 60" TV and the text is blurry?!? Really? I rarely give such a low rating, but this lack of polish is unacceptable. I would steer well clear of any Newstand magazine that is produced by Pocketmags. They're rubbish.

### 1/5 — Rubbish app

*2012-03-16*

Hifi+ is a great magazine. But this app is awful. The way the pages flick is cheap, pointless and becomes increasingly annoying and the PDFs are not clear enough. Zinio and kindle are infinitely better. Don waste your money on this rubbish. What's more after 4 issues it wouldn't give me any new issues despite having subscribed for a year! Utter garbage.

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2012-01-24*

I was excited to be able to read this hifi rag on me iPad. Unfortunately it's almost impossible to read the font...you have to zoom in on every page just to see the writing clearly. They obviously are lazy and don't care about the end user. BOOOO!!!!!!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Calling all Audiophiles

*2025-01-17*

Great audiophile magazine good reviews and excellent pictures of gear.
📺

**Developer response:** Thank you for the review!

### 5/5 — The content matters

*2021-04-01*

I don’t like reading anything over my iPad. It’s a compromise, there’s nothing better than holding the mag in hand and smell the prints. But it’s hard to subscribe print version in my country. And I just like the stories and reviews of Hi Fi+ so much that I have to settle for the digital version. The contents are too good to let go.

### 5/5 — Good

*2016-12-21*

A good read. An easy app to use and save purchased mags unlike the other Hi-Fi mags which make it hard to find downloads. Also this mag is cheaper than the rest.

### 5/5 — Enjoyable

*2016-12-02*

Fantastic news and reviews on everything Hifi, I like to keep in the loop on whats new and this is the best

### 5/5 — Excellent Read

*2016-11-25*

HiFi+ looks at interesting kit and I especially like their themed approach to grouping reviews which allows you to compare the approach of manufacturers at differing price levels. Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — Just as good as the print issue.

*2014-10-18*

I was always trying to get this magazine in the US. Not always worked. Now with this app, I read it every month. It is just like the real thing.

### 5/5 — HiFi+

*2014-01-19*

I am being forced to write this review as selecting 'Try Later' or 'No Thanks' does not allow me access to my library. Shame on you PocketRags!

### 5/5 — Great Customer Service

*2013-09-03*

I had some problems when I subscribed, but Customer Service spent several emails helping me sort it out.
Since then, the app has worked flawlessly.

### 5/5 — Excellent magazine and app.

*2013-09-01*

Easy to use and as good as having the magazine in your hand, recommended!

### 5/5 — Pretty good now

*2013-08-07*

After a faltering start, the current app works well now even with my 'old' iPad. Magazine content is of course excellent as always. highly recommended.....and saves paper ;)
