## What is Hidden Towers?

Hidden Towers is a mobile strategy board game where players explore a hidden grid, reveal towers, claim territory, upgrade defenses, and race to control the board.

Create a game, invite other players with a room code, and compete in turn-based matches across multiple game modes. Each move matters: reveal hidden tiles, capture towers, defend your upgrades, invade enemy territory, and build your score before your opponents take the lead.

Game modes include Classic, Poison Gas, and Not-So-Hidden Towers, each with different rules and strategies. Play with other people across devices, challenge the AI in solo mode, view your league progress, and use your Player Pass for tournament-style play.

*2026-05-28*

I played this game with my family and we loved it, though it was a bit difficult for the kiddos. Oh and I wish it was available for more than 4 players. Otherwise, great app!

### 2.1.0 — 2026-06-05

Version 2.1.0 brings more personality, atmosphere, and polish to Hidden Towers.

This update adds profile customization, giving players more ways to make their Player Pass feel personal.

Spectator Mode is also here, allowing players to watch games without joining as an active player. It is a great way to follow tournament matches, watch friends play, or keep up with a game in progress.

Hidden Towers now includes sound effects and music, making matches feel more alive as you reveal tiles, claim towers, make moves, and compete for victory.

This version also includes bug fixes, performance improvements, and general polish across the app for a smoother experience.

### 2.0.1 — 2026-06-02

Version 2.0.1 includes a fix for Player Pass 2.0.

This update fixes an issue where Player Pass 2.0 could show empty overview stats or fail to load correctly, even when recent match history was available.

Player stats, wins, losses, win rate, badges, and recent matches should now display more reliably.

### 2.0 — 2026-06-02

Version 2.0 is a major Hidden Towers update with new game modes, player progression, push notifications, and big gameplay improvements.

This update adds two new ways to play: Blackout and Eclipse.

In Blackout Mode, all rules from Classic still apply, but revealed tiles vanish again after being ignored for 3 turns.

In Eclipse Mode, all rules from Blackout still apply, but hidden tiles shift every 10 moves, making the board even harder to predict.

Version 2.0 also adds turn notifications, so players can be alerted when it is their turn.

Player Pass 2.0 is here with player stats, badges, titles, and recent match history. You can now track your games played, wins, losses, win rate, towers owned, tiles revealed, and mode-specific wins.

Daily Challenge has been added, giving players a rotating solo challenge against AI.

Game endings have been improved with better recap screens, final rankings, and clearer match results.

Rooms now support easier invite sharing, and regular games now support rematches with the same players and mode.

This update also improves tournaments, including better QR camera support, manual Player ID entry, smoother tournament game joining, final results navigation, and better tournament flow.

Poison Gas has been rebalanced for 3-player and 4-player games, logout confirmations have been improved, menus are cleaner during active rooms/games/tournaments, and Not-So-Hidden Towers has been removed.

Version 2.0 also includes general bug fixes, balance changes, and polish across the app.
