## What is Hifz Quran?

Hifz Quran is for people who want to memorize the Quran, not only read it.

Pick any ayah or passage and repeat it the way that works for you. Set how many times each ayah plays, set how many passes of the whole group, chain the ayat so each new one joins to everything before it, and leave a gap to recite along. That repetition is how memorizing actually happens, and the app is built around it.

When you are ready, recite from memory. The app follows your voice on the exact page of the Madina mushaf, reveals each word as you say it, and marks anything you skip or get wrong. You choose what to review: tap the ayah, passage, or weak spot you want to go over again.

CHOOSE AND REPEAT

Pick any ayah or passage. Per ayah and whole group counts, chained sabaq drills, a pause to recite along, ten reciters, and adjustable speed. Works offline after the first play and keeps going with the screen locked.

THE REAL MADINA MUSHAF

Every page matches the printed mushaf, same layout and same fonts, so page 47 here is page 47 in print. Remembering where a word sits on the page is part of hifz. Madina, tajweed colored, and Indopak scripts are included.

RECITE TO TEST YOURSELF

Recognition tuned for Quranic Arabic follows your voice and reveals each word. It catches skipped and substituted words, and it takes fast recitation, isti'adhah, and natural pauses in stride.

YOUR WEAK SPOTS

Every slip is remembered and listed, and each one is a tap away from reciting it again.

PRIVATE BY DEFAULT

By default, recognition runs on your iPhone with a built in model, and your voice is used only to follow along as you recite. It is never recorded or stored. There is no account, no subscription, no ads, and no analytics. Your progress backs up to your own iCloud and moves to your next phone.

FREE

Hifz Quran is free and has no in app purchases.

WITH THANKS

The mushaf text, layout, and fonts come from the King Fahd Glorious Quran Printing Complex and the Quranic Universal Library. The recitations are by well known reciters. Hifz Quran is a companion for your daily practice and not a replacement for a qualified teacher.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.7 — 2026-08-27

THE INDO-PAK MUSHAF. Every surah heading recut from the print, complete and clean, and the basmalah now runs the full width of the page the way the book sets it.

TAJWEED COLOURS ON INDO-PAK. Switch them on under View. Each colour marks a rule of recitation, and the legend explains every one.

THE CLASSIC MADINA PRINT. The 1405H mushaf, the one a generation memorised from, alongside the current one. Its own pages and its own line breaks.

ISLAMIC DATES. A new widget in three sizes: today in both calendars, and the year drawn to scale with the moon at tonight's real phase.

ISTIKHARAH. What you type now appears in the Arabic as well as the translation. It stays on your phone.

### 1.6 — 2026-08-25

A new Dua tab.
- Morning and evening adhkar, one card at a time. Tap to count. The app saves how far you got.
- A library of duas for daily moments: sleep, food, home, travel, worry, illness, rain, family and more.
- Search any dua by name or meaning.
- Istikharah has its own page. Type what you are deciding, and your words appear inside the meaning.
- Most duas can be played out loud. Quran duas play in your own reciter's voice.

Also in this update:
- Listen to any surah in the reader.
- A Qibla compass shows which way to face.
- Prayer time widgets for your home screen.
- A small note on Fridays that opens Surah al-Kahf.
- The app now counts the pages you read.
- Many small fixes.

### 1.5 — 2026-08-18

Adhan functionality added.

The Salah tab now opens on the six times, and extra details if needed.

Mushaf improvements.

Prayer time automatically updates.

Other stability and bug fixes.

### 1.4 — 2026-08-14

New:
Prayer times. A new tab with prayer times for your city, a countdown to the next prayer, and optional reminders. Swipe between days and mark prayers as prayed. The background shows the calculated position of the sun and moon for your city. Choose from 34,000 cities or use your location.

The Indopak mushaf. All 610 pages of the 15 line Quran read across South Asia, with the same line breaks and page numbers as the printed book, plus the surah headers and margin marks from the print.

New artwork. Each surah card now has its own design, 114 in total, with 30 more for the juz list.

Fixes:
Memorization progress is no longer lost if its file on disk is damaged.
If audio fails to play or the connection drops during a drill, playback stops and shows a message instead of freezing.
Playback buttons now have VoiceOver labels.

### 1.3 — 2026-08-11
