From any angle you analyze it’s thorough, thoughtful, and high quality. However, the app is full of bugs and glitches (or perhaps unfriendly UI). It needs many revisions. How they present the information is just fine. It’s the functionality of the app that falls short. Absolutely littered with glitches. I will keep using it to support the organization though, for the time being. ### 2/5 — Ok but unnecessary - and no subscription warning after trial *2025-08-27, version 1.45* You can get this content in other ways. And I despise apps/companies that don’t send subscription reminders before they charge after free trials. It’s a shoddy tactic to boost profit. Nothing more nothing less. ### 2/5 — Doesn’t work very well *2025-05-13, version 1.40* The episodes are all here (for a price) and the content is as advertised- but the app is terrible. Lots of fast forwarding and rewinding to get back to your place where you left off, videos don’t sync with the sound, and there are all sorts of hosts, not just the HP team, which is fine, but not what I was after. Won’t renew, will keep listening to the free versions. ### 2/5 — Video interface is awful *2025-04-12, version 1.38* Just interacting with the playback screen is woeful. ### 2/5 — Frustrating User Experience *2024-11-21, version 1.33* 5* content, but 2* app. The user experience isn’t good. As a really basic example, they removed the ability to download audio files only so if you want to listen to the audio you have to download a huge video file then lock the screen and just listen. But you can’t do anything else while listening because as soon as you take a call for example, the app skips back 10 minutes or to the start of the episode when resuming. I have used social media to report issues with the app and thought I was going crazy because the comments disappeared. After taking a screenshot to make sure a genuine and fair comment about improvement being necessary was definitely posted, I checked back and found it had again been deleted. ### 3/5 — Weird onboarding *2024-10-07, version 1.32* Giving you the pronoun choice but defaulting it to dudes is a super weird design choice. Haven't used the rest of the app yet. ### 2/5 — Used to be excellent *2023-10-31, version 1.9* Suddenly stopped working since updating to iOS 17.1? Great shame as I loved using the app before. ### 1/5 — Poor first experience after download *2023-05-18, version 1.8* I’ve downloaded the app the same day I received an invite to do so via the newsletter. I tried entering by entering the correct code, managed to get to the screen to enter my number, but there I get a random “An error has occurred” message. You only have one shot at getting a new user to sign-up. Please make this smoother. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Finally Closing Down *2026-03-26, version 1.49* Fortunately this app is closing down and no longer going to be used from April 2026. It has never appeared a priority. Happy to take the subscription money but not provide a good service, no response to multiple support requests. Apparently it requires to be entered in some super specific formatting which I don’t know. ### 1/5 — Cannot register *2024-07-08, version 1.27.1* The registration process does not work - once the verification code is entered the numeric keyboard stays open and hides the ‘confirm’ button. Low performance. ### 1/5 — It’s a trap. *2024-06-21, version 1.27.1* I came to this app to see the rest of Daniel Negreanu’s interview about Poker. This app makes you give them a whole lot of personal info before letting you use it. What’s more: you don’t find out that the podcast episode of interest is only available if you pay a fee (albeit starting with a free trial) until you finally give them that personal info. Lastly, and suspiciously, it’s I had quite a time trying to get to the “review” page on the App Store so that I could warn you about it. Vague info, non-disclosure, etc.— It seems like bad business. ### 1/5 — David Gandy *2024-05-13* I downloaded the app because on youtube it was promised that David Gandy would talk about his fitness regime exclusively on the app. So I listed to the David Gandy interview on the app again only to find out that there is nothing about it… **Developer response:** Hello George, To be able to access the exclusive David Gandy content, you can navigate and click on his episode in the app, and then, once you scroll down the page, there is a section titled "Highlights" where David Gandy shares his routine and fitness regime exclusively on the app. ### 1/5 — Become a Cash Cow for Jake and Damian *2024-03-22, version 1.21* I have loved these guys and podcast since the beginning…but I am dismayed now at how much of a cash cow this app has become. The subscription aside. I have just had to go through multiple pages of data protection work just to get to the app, with most options set to ‘share’. The guys talk at length about vulnerability and neurodivergence but how on earth are people like this supposed to understand all these in order to protect their personal data being sold by under the name of Jake and Damian. Sadly I’m becoming very disappointed in these two, after admiring them so much. They should take a long hard look at what they have become in these circumstances. Shame. Also trying to find the X to get passed the videos when they pay on the daily boost is now deliberately white to hide in the videos. Giving up on this….plenty of other pods and similar apps out there that aren’t trying to prop up the loss of income from not being on prime time tele anymore. ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2024-03-15, version 1.20* Was learning your podcasts regularly. But now with the HO app, I have to subscribe to listen to certain podcasts. I particularly like the daily booster, and it’s a very easy way to access the pod casts (I’ve listened to a few purely because of the daily booster). Even though I’ve upgraded I still sometimes get ads. Also sometimes won’t let you pause podcast so have to close down app and when I’ve finished podcast it just randomly starts another one even if I’ve listened to it before.
