The radio is a good touch but I have just a few recommendations: the music nob in the settings doesn’t turn down the music on the radio, I like hearing the updates the radio host gives but the music isn’t for me. I’m not an indie music fan. Also the looting so far is pretty meh. All I’ve gotten from stopping at 9 or so spots that aren’t the objective are just health boosts and movement boosts, zero weapons. I understand you want to keep it challenging to an extent but the fact I go out of my way to dock at a side place just to find a newspaper and boom is pretty lame. I enjoy the battle sequences but I feel I could enjoy them more if there were some better weapons, for instance I kill multiple guys with guns yet I can’t pick them up or nothing? I get you guys tried to do a lot of environmental battle stuff but it’s just not at cool or satisfying. Otherwise the story pace and everything is great and once I finish the game I might come back and change my review but for now, solid 4 star experience. Not bad but it hasn’t blown me outta the water (no pun intended). ### 3/5 — Fun looking game annoying bugs *2026-01-13, version 1.7* I encountered audio issues on every fresh open of the game. Almost to the point of thinking the game was silent. It feels like there is a lot of potential for it to be great but yall really need to do some serious QA before releasing updates. Also very on the nose, being an anti-capitalism story sponsored by Netflix but ig we all gotta eat 😑 ### 2/5 — i want to love this game *2025-03-30, version 1.7* the graphics and story are decent but if the dialogue is read-only why is there no option to turn off auto-play? like i’ll be in the middle of reading dialogue and itll go to the next text box, especially in the beginning with the large bodies of text. ### 4/5 — COOL VISUALS AND GAMEPLAY but… *2024-10-16, version 1.6* I really enjoyed playing this game. I’m already at the part where Nikos and friends got inside Alphaville but suddenly it froze, whenever I try to close the app to restart it, it still goes back to the part where it froze… so I can’t continue the game anymore. I’m afraid that if I delete the game and re-install it all my data will be erased and I’ll have to start over :/ But overall, I love this game! Excellent soundtrack and simple yet evocative visuals. I was compelled to continue playing with the expectation that simple gameplay would evolve in complexity. However the gameplay doesn’t seem to develop any sophistication past the first hour. I was particularly disappointed that the boat wasn’t able to be upgraded. It’s speed seems to be artificially slow in order to pad out the game. The story was cute, but not enough to placate my need for more interesting gameplay. The concept has so much potential, but ultimately falls short of its initial promise. It’s not long, which I think is fine. The writing is great, with plenty of literary and pop culture references that made me chuckle, even if some went over my head. The radio station with original soundtrack was also excellent. The graphics aren’t super high-res but are decent. The turn-based battles are basically puzzles - the key is to find the right tactics, and although with a few exceptions they aren’t that hard I enjoyed them trying to win them in the fewest turns. I was pleasantly surprised that unlike all the other Netflix games I’ve played I found no bugs, and the game was stable - it didn’t crash on me once. Some other reviewers have complained about bugs, so maybe they’ve all been fixed or maybe I was lucky! ### 3/5 — Love everything about this game except for the bugs *2023-10-07, version 1.4* It’s becoming a recurring theme with Netflix offered mobile games. I enjoy everything about this game, but I reached a bug that doesn’t allow me to progress in the game. I would love to be able to finish this game and have it fixed. ### 5/5 — YOU HAVE TO PLAY THIS *2023-08-05, version 1.03* Where can I start, it’s free if you have Netflix and it’s like playing a role play game that you see gamers on YouTube playing. The art is phenomenal and the soundtrack is absolute fire. The interface and design are unique and meticulous in its own way. The story is a whole bunch of feels, emotional, sad, suspenseful and breathtaking. You literally don’t have to be a gamer and it’s not difficult. The story is eye opening and bingeworthy that I spent the whole night playing it, I had doubts at first like some other Netflix games that I just deleted but I’m truly grateful I gave this one shot; Netflix and the creators did an amazing job. 10/10 if I could 🫶 ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Impassable Tutorial *2025-11-29, version 1.7* Unable to get past the first combat tutorial. All I can do is move or taunt, and die every time. No way to run away; and the save file starts in combat again. :( The app support button in the App Store just opens the Netflix app. The game seemed interesting but I guess it wasn’t meant to be. ### 1/5 — Simply Incompetent *2025-07-04* I expected a story, with something like a survival story that would be different every time, instead i got a character that can’t choose which direction their boat is supposed to go, bad graphics, bad voice acting, and bad camera controls, a map that gives a vague location and no track of where you are, compass being useless because not directly linked to the map ### 1/5 — Guy sets himself on fire *2024-04-30, version 1.5* I have a shield, but can’t get near him, he sets himself on fire and I lose the battle. After the fifth time without a single clue what to do, I deleted the game. Highly recommended! *2026-04-24, version 1.7* I thoroughly enjoyed making my way through the apocalyptic water world with our small band of survivors, and enjoyed the engaging mini-battles along the way. The story arc is great, as is the artwork and the strategy element of the battles is perfectly balanced. Each battle is really a puzzle that can be solved using a selection of abilities and boosts in the correct order, and what makes that great is that because you have unlimited options to restart each battle if you lose , or even if you think you’re going to lose…. This allows you to try a different combination of moves to get you further, until you finally hit on the right combination to unlock the solution and win. It really makes you have to think your way through each battle, but without the stressful rush of other games. The strategic battles have more of a chess like speed to them, whilst moving between them is a peaceful and quite relaxing treasure hunt. Bravo to everyone involved with this, from the artists to the writers to the programmers…Big kudos 🙌🏻 ### 5/5 — Favorite game ever *2026-02-04* First time I write a review on a game.
