## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 3/5 — Worked great on iPhone SE, problems on 15 pro

*2024-07-10*

I used this app on the AZT with my iPhone SE, and found zero bugs. However I had to replace that phone with a 15 pro. I’m tbruhiking the CT and having some issues. The location showed for each entry in the list is the location for the first day, but is correct within the entry itself. And sometimes even though I have an entry fully filled out, it won’t save until I check and uncheck a box (like slept in a bed. )

### 3/5 — Love it- but looking for something that will let me add pictures

*2024-04-27*

If only it would let me add pics- would be willing to pay if it had that feature- switching to relive due to this- great product, but missing key feature

**Developer response:** Hey there, you can now attach pictures to your logbook entries. Thank you for the feedback!

### 3/5 — Would be 5 stars if I could export data

*2022-10-25*

I’d pay $5 to export my journal from my thru hike. Until then, I’m concerned that I’ll somehow lose all of my data without any way to recover it.

### 3/5 — Glitch

*2022-03-22*

Nice app, but have had repeated problems saving daily data after data and comment entry (Save button grayed out).

**Developer response:** When creating a new Logbook entry there are 3 required fields: (1) the Date, (2) the start mile mark, and (3) the end mile mark. Those three fields are critical for how the rest of the app functions- and therefore must contain a value. The rest of the fields (such as start and end location, ascent/descent, and the journal field) are optional, and you’re allowed to save an entry without populating anything in those fields.

If you’re creating an entry before you hit the trail, just put zeros in for the start and end mile marks, and select today’s date (or whatever date you wish) and you can save your entry.

Shoot me an email at hikersLogbook@gmail.com if you’d like to discuss further!

### 3/5 — Great idea

*2022-02-28*

Was excited when I heard about the app since I’m in the middle of my thru-hike of the Florida National Scenic Trail. But became disappointed when I was limited in my trail choices to the triple crown plus Long Trail. Hopefully at least all eleven National Scenic trails are listed as the apps is updated. So 5stars for app idea; 1star for unable to enter my trail. 😎👣

**Developer response:** V1.1 added several trails including the Florida Trail. Thanks for the feedback!

### 4/5 — I needed this

*2023-09-19*

Was looking for an App to log my hikes without having to enter every piece of info. Something with a template. This was it. Thank you

### 4/5 — Great!

*2023-08-14*

Love the app but the most recent update to V1.5 still hasn’t fixed the crashing in the Forecast tab on my device. Otherwise, it’s an amazing tool.

### 4/5 — Almost Perfect…

*2022-03-10*

I love this app for the space to track my miles and keep my journal for every day, but am really bummed there is no way to add pictures. Is that something you are considering adding or may be adding in the next few weeks? I would love to
Use this app for my thru on the PCT starting April 26!

**Developer response:** Yes, I definitely would like to add this feature!

### 4/5 — A Wonderful App!

*2022-03-03*

I love this so far. I haven’t even started my thru-hike yet, but put in a test entry from home yesterday. I can’t wait to track my stats and have an effective, easy-to-use app to document my life on trail.
The only qualm I have is that it shows “Georgia” under my completed entry in the log even though I am under the NOBO Pacific Crest Trail option (I would have liked to see Campo, or even more generally, Section A or SoCal). This may be due to something I missed or overlooked, but it was not easy for me to find any way to change that. Otherwise this is such a neat app, be sure to give it a shot!

**Developer response:** V1.1 has addressed this bug. Thank you for bringing it to my attention!

### 5/5 — Really great app

*2024-06-02*

I wish the stats were more detailed. Like total showers, cat holes digged etc. But the forecasting is amazing.

## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great way to journal and keep track of stats

*2024-03-01*

I haven’t used this on a thru hike yet but I transferred over my journals from one of my past thruhikes and it was awesome. Really fun to see the stats.

My big request to the developer- add a “resupplied” tick box. Right now there’s slept in bed and took a shower which are great but I don’t always do those things when I go into town. It would be nice to see how often you’re resupplying.

### 5/5 — Feature Needed

*2024-01-23*

Considering that the list of hiker-stats (zeroes, slackpacks, stay-types, etc,) that the app has incorporated, I am surprised that ‘weather/temperture’ isn’t included.

This does seem to be a lost gem in the hiker world. Good work, well done.

### 5/5 — Essential part of my pack 🏔️

*2023-02-01*

No-frills, ad-free trail log app that got used multiple times a day on the Pacific Crest Trail. Kept track of daily notes, mileage, elevation, projected finish date and notes. I have a terrible memory, and I’m too impatient of a hiker to sit and type out paragraphs, so dictating notes to myself while walking or making dinner was an essential way to write and reflect on the day — and an easy way to refer back to specific days on trail. One feature I’d love to see is an export function into a single organized text file for further writing or editing.

**Developer response:** Hey, thanks for the kind words! I have an export to PDF feature that will be coming soon.

### 5/5 — Great logbook

*2022-04-26*

This app is simple as can be and has all things you need to track / log your hike. It doesn't do anything you don't need it to do. Definitely my favorite.

### 5/5 — Looks like it will work

*2022-03-09*

Thanks for putting this out. I’m starting the PCT in mid-March. This solution is a huge improvement from journaling in my notes app, then copying it and texting it to my wife.

It would be great if I could share my daily journal entries with my wife and daughter back home.

**Developer response:** Will try to find a solution for this. If you’d like to talk about your idea for how that’d work send an email to hikerslogbook@gmail.com

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2022-03-04*

Such an easy way to track/journal for my thruhikes!

### 5/5 — Ultralight and Ultratite

*2022-03-03*

Catered to thru-hikers and beats carrying a paper journal. Love that I’ll always have my trail journal on me, and I’m excited to see what the developer adds for export and data analytics capability.

### 5/5 — Exactly what I was looking for

*2022-03-03*

Starting my first thru hike in 2022, this app looks like it will be perfect to journal with, I’ve been looking for something for a while and this has all the features I’ve been hoping to find while being super simple and useable. I also think a button to copy the log details page to the clipboard would be super helpful!

**Developer response:** Will keep this in mind, thanks for the review!
