● Identify Peaks
Identify more than a million mountains, hills, buttes, spires, and more from all over the world, with a detailed profile for each of them! Our app shows you altitude, topographic prominence, mountain range, national parks or reserves, as well as photos and additional Wikipedia articles.

● Plan Hiking Routes
A vast network of worldwide hiking trails and walking pathways included in PeakVisor’s 3D Maps will help you compose a hiking route which includes evaluating the distance you can expect to hike as well as a route’s elevation profile and estimated time for completion.

● Skiing
In winter mountain sports, PeakVisor’s topographic 3D Maps allow a visual understanding of the terrain and provide detailed information about mountain lifts, ski resort trails, and backcountry ski touring routes. Application interessante autant pour la randonnée, que le ski de rando/alpinisme. Je l’utilise depuis quelque temps et trouve un seul gros problème : 
Le dénivelé annoncer sur la plupart des tracé et complètement faux… 
Petit exemple : pointe des cerces depuis parking du refuge de Laval 1571m de d+ annoncé alors qu’en réalité seulement 1090 de d+… Testé et approuver ! 
C’est quand même dommage pour un éditeur d’être aussi peu précis… 
Je recommande tous de même, mais pour les personnes qui ont déjà un peut d’expérience.

**Developer response:** Merci de votre fidélité à PeakVisor ! Vous avez mentionné le bug sur lequel nous luttons depuis des années. Il se produit lors de la mesure du dénivelé sur une pente raide, où quelques mètres de différence suffisent pour créer un écart d'altitude important. Lors d'une belle randonnée, cet écart peut être considérable, comme vous l'avez constaté. La bonne nouvelle, c'est que ce bug est enfin corrigé et sera disponible avec la prochaine mise à jour de l'application, la version 5.108 (normalement demain).

Puisque nous avons évoqué les randonnées à ski, je voulais vous annoncer que de belles surprises vous attendent cet hiver (avec, on l'espère, de la neige en abondance, mais ce n'est pas notre rôle). Nous souhaitions savoir si vous jugez important de disposer de cartes topographiques nationales en France (comme c'est le cas en Suisse, par exemple). Elles sont payantes, et nous cherchons à déterminer si nos utilisateurs en ont besoin. Nous vous serions très reconnaissants de bien vouloir nous contacter via le menu « Contacter le développeur » de l'application.

Sehr nützliche App, die ich seit Jahren auf jeder Bergtour zur Orientierung und zum Tracken nutze. Dabei ist sie sehr präzise und zieht wenig Akku im Flugmodus. Es macht Spaß sich später die gegangen Wege direkt in der Karte ansehen zu können. Neulich hatte ich bezüglich der Familienfreigabe Kontakt mit dem Support. Super freundlich, hilfsbereit, geduldig und lösungsorientiert. Absolut top. Vielen herzlichen Dank an die Entwickler und den Support!!!

• Drone photos import at the right scale. A 2× zoom shot no longer lands with the terrain at half size, and photos whose metadata only records the physical lens are no longer stretched to an impossible field of view.
• Smoother zooming, with momentum kept where it used to be trimmed.

• Search by coordinates. Paste a latitude and longitude and PeakVisor takes you to that exact point and marks it, so you can always pin down a precise spot on the map, not just a named place.
• Offline maps that actually finish. Downloads no longer stall or fail partway, and where they used to crawl they are now dramatically quicker.
• Take as many maps as you need. The Offline Maps panel is rebuilt around free space: see what each region costs, watch the megabytes as it downloads, and clear out what you're done with.
• Better peak labels on imported photos, so they no longer land on people. Photos taken outside PeakVisor now line up with the terrain properly too.
• Denali and Mauna Kea in official topographic detail. The National map option now covers Alaska and Hawaii, and works offline like everywhere else.
• Fixes throughout. A subscription that can't be purchased now explains why instead of leaving a dead button, saving a planned route completes your setup step, and the subscription screen reads correctly in Japanese, Korean, Polish, Slovak and Chinese.

• Austria in proper topographic detail. The whole country now uses the official 1:50,000 series — contours, glaciers, rock detail, huts and marked trails. South Tyrol joins as our first Italian coverage, and Swiss maps reach further across the border.
• Photo and fly-over video export are free. Save and share what you make, whether or not you subscribe.
• Search that gets out of your way. Recent places are readable again, filter chips sit right above the keyboard, and tapping through to the full peak page works as it should.
• Fixes throughout. Dates follow your language's own order and clock, Apple Health reconnects after restoring a device, "See in 3D" works from destination screens, coordinate searches mark the exact spot, and the menu reminds you when no maps are saved for offline use.
