### 5/5 — Great app for hills

*2023-04-16, version 7.5*

I’ve been using this app for years, it’s been amazing and a great way to see which hill I’ve climbing or not climbed.

### 5/5 — Love this

*2023-01-08, version 7.4.2*

Been using this for years.

### 5/5 — Outstanding!

*2022-07-19, version 7.4.1*

Up to date lists, easy to use, great functionality. Anyone interested in hills should get this.

### 5/5 — Food for the obsession

*2022-06-10, version 7.4.1*

Brilliant app. Allows for non discriminatory bagging!

### 5/5 — Perfect for tracking my progress

*2022-04-25*

Absolutely love this app. An essential part of my digital walking gear. I love looking at all those pins on the map - trying to turn the red ones to green. A vital tool for planning and recording my adventures. Highly recommended!!!

### 5/5 — Extremely useful!

*2022-03-21, version 7.3*

I use this constantly to log all my peaks. It’s really good.

I’d like to see additions of improved stats in the future. Eg. Lists/count of unique peaks per time period.

### 5/5 — Hill lists

*2021-09-08*

Graham Harley has done a great job on this app providing every detail needed. I’m still finding out and learning something new as I did today.
If you are looking for a comprehensive list and log for everything in one place then this is the app for you.
Don’t take my word for it jump in and appreciate the level of detail that Graham has provided.
For me it ticks all the boxes and more.

### 5/5 — Keen developer , app gets updated

*2021-07-31*

Good app and developer is constantly updating unlike other apps that end up being binned due to non compatibility with new iOS.

Have been using this for a number of years now and would recommend. Good to see the breakdown in months years etc and nice touch with the animation for hill accents which can be slowed down.

Thanks again

### 5/5 — Top quality app

*2021-03-06*

I’m using the app to track my progress through The Wainwrights. It does all that I need and a lot more. The developer has clearly put a lot of thought into the app - the various backup options are are good example - and it’s great there’s a proper web site for any guidance you might need.
I wish more apps were built to this standard.

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2020-10-16*

I previously had a free app for keeping track of Munro completion and for such a basic requirement it was very poor. I stretched to spending £1.99 on this app and have never looked back!

It has taken the minimum requirement of keeping track of Munro completion and added a whole host of great features. You can see a whole manner of graphs showing completion by year and month. There are automatic links into the MWIS forecasts and Walkhighlands routes. It’s easy to transfer data between different devices and you can export it all into excel for further analysis! Fantastic app!

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2020-06-26*

This app has a lot to answer for; I first came across it years ago when I was given the Relatives Hills book, I thought it would be a handy progress recording method. But beware, it has turned me into a list ticker and it could do the same to you. The depths of information contained within the lists and maps slowly and inexorably draws you in until you are snared.
One list, two lists, ha! this is just the start, before long, like me, you will become a multi list ticker, trawling the lists to see which hills feature in more than one, thus enabling two ticks instead of just one.
The lists can be sorted in several ways, and filtered to show all, climbed and to do, as can the maps.
This app has changed my life, and I can’t thank the writers enough.

**Developer response:** There is a map view specifically to show all your unclimbed hills in multiple tracked lists. Top right of the lists tab. :-)

### 5/5 — Excellent app

*2020-02-29, version 6.5*

Regularly updated, and the only app of its kind you will need.
A big thank you to the developer for such devotion to your customers.

### 5/5 — Fabulous app

*2019-11-21, version 6.4*

Fabulous app. Made planning, recording and reviewing so much easier. Wish I’d found it earlier.
I recommend it all the time. A must for all baggers.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2019-07-18, version 6.3.2*

Used this app for a while now and I find it easy to use and a great way of recording ascents, dates, times, notes etc....

### 5/5 — Top app

*2019-03-24, version 6.3.1*

It just does what you need, for planning and logging hill walks. The maps, and links with Walkhighlands are particularly good

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Lost hills

*2023-05-16, version 7.5*

This app was so useful when completing the Wainwrights but for Sime reason it has wiped everything clean! No records/ dates etc to look back on- so disappointing

Following on from developer response- sadly did not have auto back up on. However I have never deleted the app so don’t know why I lost all data! All my dates and notes gone!

### 1/5 — Over priced

*2018-09-05, version 6.2*

It’s a list of hills/mountains and there location. That’s it
It has a link to websites to get information about the mountains but I was under the impression all the information would be in the app......so, it’s a little disappointing.

Definitely not worth £1.99

### 2/5 — Nuttals

*2017-08-13, version 5.2*

Very disappointed that welsh and english nuttalls and hewitts have now been lumped together. Been working through the welsh nuttalls over the past few years. With so many lists on the app i don't see why wales can't have a few more country specific lists as opposed to being lumped in general uk ones. Change back please!

### 3/5 — Getting more disappointed with this app.

*2025-06-15*

I used to think this was brilliant and it probably still is if you use it just to track your progress through multiple lists for the first time.
It works well until you start logging multiple ascents on lots and lots of hills. It seems to lose track of some of those even though they show up as a logged ascent. Not sure what is going on but some of those logs are not accounted correctly.
Also I don’t like he is way it tries to count multiple rounds. Everybody I know does this by starting again after completing the first round but the only way to do this in this app is to delete the previous ascents thereby losing the records.

**Developer response:** I am not aware of any issues with counting ascents. Please get in touch via my support page so I can investigate what you are seeing.
Re: multiple rounds, I don't support "golfing" only "banking". Round 2 is climbing all hills in the list at least twice, round 3 is all hills at least three times ... etc.

### 4/5 — Good but how to export ascent list?

*2026-07-06, version 7.8*

This is a useful app, been using it for years. But I can’t find a way to export my ascent list in plain text (eg .csv). The backup format is binary and uses inscrutable codes for the hills.

### 4/5 — Could be better :(

*2024-08-01*

I wish there was a way of just ticking the hills/mountains that you’ve already climbed, and that the “date climbed” would be an optional feature. Likewise, if you can add multiple dates climbed.

This app isn’t the most obvious in the structure/layout.

**Developer response:** You can import without dates by using a CSV file, see the user guide for details. I don't support importing with multiple dates but will look into it. Thanks!

### 4/5 — Essential App for hill walkers

*2020-09-28*

I have been using this app for years now and it is great. Wouldn’t be without it. All my hill walks are logged using it. I noticed someone else say they found navigation around it tricky and I would agree, and the recent updates have not really clarified this. I would say I always find what I want and get to where I want but it could be easier. For example a simple toggle while viewing say Munros for hills done, hills not done would be great. Also (and I’ve suggested this before and surprised others would not find this useful) it would be just fantastic if I could add who was on the walk (me obviously but mainly who accompanied) so you can easily search for walks you were on with certain individuals. You can put it in a spreadsheet and add this but this rather defeats the purpose. But as I say great app and please keep up the good work!

**Developer response:** There is a completed/todo toggle on the filter/sort screen which is accessed through the menu icon (top left). You can quickly access this by swiping in from the left.

You can record who you were with in the notes. I will look at making that searchable. UPDATE: now supported in v6.8.

### 4/5 — Well Done!

*2009-08-06, version 0*

This is a very useful app as I walk throughout the UK - thanks. I echo the request to log the date a hill is completed but perhaps also another step to allow some personal comments too (only viewable by the user)? In map view it would be handy if other hill names were available when you touch their pin. Also maybe a central database could be useful where comments could be added ('avoid area as it is very marshy', 'some technical ability required', best approach routes etc). I am nitpicking now and am grateful for the app in it's current form - thanks.

### 5/5 — Glen [Smog] Smith

*2026-02-01, version 7.8*

Great App for logging ascents & keeping record of logs.

For some reason, though, I’m unable to delete my ‘Others’ list, in the edit hill lists section… I can edit the list, but not delete it.

### 5/5 — Fantastic for tracking wainwrights

*2026-01-26*

I’ve used this for recording my wainwrights and it’s been so easy to use and easy to record the details of the each walk. Very user friendly. I’ve just 8 wainwrights left to go!

## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great planning app

*2025-06-08*

Have been using this app for the last several years and still my default cross reference app with planning the Wainwrights : the satellite imagery is excellent to track desire lines and check if OS paths do still exist and in use .👍

### 5/5 — Nuttals Update

*2025-03-12*

Absolutely love this app and love by it for all my hike tracking. However wondered what the official updated total of nuttalls are? I’ve been researching and online gives totals of 253,254,257. Im completing them soon so wondered if you can confirm this is up to date and correct at 254? Thank you!

**Developer response:** The app is up-to-date with the latest Database of British and Irish hills - currently 254. The number fluctuates as hills are remeasured!

### 5/5 — My favourite app!

*2024-12-24, version 7.7.2*

Easily my most favourite iOS app. Does exactly what you would expect it to.

### 5/5 — Great app but would like to see other peoples lists

*2024-10-08*

Generally a great app and probably best available for seeing different hill groups in UK and Ireland.
My only criticism is that it would be good if the developers could allow you to connect with other people and see what hills or mountains they have done. This would also help when doing walks with my wife or friends to make sure we’re not duplicating too many ticked hills.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2024-08-29, version 7.6*

For ticking off hills/mountains

### 5/5 — M Evans

*2024-06-01, version 7.6*

This app is brilliant, i hope we never loose it. I use it all the time and its my main record for everything

### 5/5 — Hills Lists

*2024-04-20*

This is a brilliant app. I’ve been a keen walker for over 40 years, relying on scores of books and maps. The amount of data in this app is phenomenal, with the ability to sort and configure to suit your personal requirements, support high level planning and to record your achievements if you so wish. The user guide is also excellent.

### 5/5 — Best and only app needed for hill bagging

*2023-11-15*

I don’t often leave reviews, but this app has absolutely blown me away. Hill bagging has increasingly become a passion of mine and this app is the perfect resource to that endeavour. It even has all the HuMPs and TuMPs!

Best £1.99 I’ve ever spent. Thank you to the developer(s).
