I don’t want to turn the IPad every time I want to log in! And definitely not enough info when reading it up and down instead like on a big computer screen going left to right. The app really stinks. And just a suggestion, I would love a button or screen to just see how I did previously. How my portfolio “totally’ did yesterday, previous 2 or 3 days, previous month, all at the touch of one button. Did I make $1,000, did I lose $1,000, etc. ### 1/5 — Finally got an app...and it doesn’t work *2020-12-16, version 5.7* I waited years for Hilltop Securities to offer an app, like every other financial organization already had. Then one day they released this and I was excited. But when I tried to log in with my credentials, it said invalid. I called support. They said they’d look into it but I never heard from them again. Fast forward several months and I still can’t log in. Worthless. ### 1/5 — Never Worked *2020-10-07, version 5.6* Not only did the app not work, it killed my access to my access to the web site on my computer. The only reason it is rated one star is because Apple would not allow a zero-star review. ### 1/5 — Frustrating *2020-10-06, version 5.6* This app is just awful. Logging in is a hassle, no Touch ID or Face Recognition instead of a password. It doesn’t show daily account changes in money. It’s the worst financial app possible. Lots of times when I check in it shows our accounts as “0”. ### 1/5 — Won’t allow login *2020-06-08, version 5.3* I’ve entered my username, PW, and OTP and it spins for a moment, then does nothing. Can’t get logged in. ### 1/5 — The worst! *2020-06-06, version 5.3* For some reason the Apple Keychain doesn’t automatically offer to enter my password for this app When I click on the key icon to retrieve the password, it’s not under “MOmentum” or “Hilltop”, it’s under “fisglobal” (????). PLUS- every time I log in it ALSO texts a PIN number that I have to manually enter. WISHLIST: Face ID One star for at least remembering my user name when I open the app. One final little thing: I’m not a crazy stocks guy. I have simple needs. Is it too much to ask to show me the TOTAL of my stock worth available cash? ### 1/5 — Don't bother downloading app *2020-06-05, version 5.3* Wait, perhaps we may be notified when the mobile app works. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Embarrassing when compared to other Hilltop Holdings apps *2026-05-01, version 8.1.2* How is it that this app breaks about once per quarter? I am regularly unable to log in and have to wait for some back end fix for it to work again, since the app itself rarely gets updated. Compare this to their PlainsCapital apps, you know this company is capable of building a functional piece of software, but for some reason they just won’t for their HilltopSecurities customers ### 1/5 — Very unreliable ! *2026-03-17, version 8.1.2* Most times it doesn’t log-on. If you use VPN (and you should) you get an error right away. Getting it to load is insanely unreliable! Sometimes it does nothing and other times it just spins and spins and never loads. If you Clink on the “Trouble Singing in?” Help Link you get this error. ‘The service provider that you are attempting to access is not configured with IdP’. Meaning: Linking to their help system isn’t even configured correctly. Occasionally and surprisingly it works - but nothing on my phone’s end changed. It’s such a Bad Application ! ### 1/5 — Shameful *2025-12-01, version 8.1.2* It seems to accept login credentials but then just spins for a bit and nothing. Nothing absolutely nothing. FIX IT HILLTOP. Not sure what they did, but now I can’t log in through the app. Username and password are correct because I can log into the website, but when trying to log into the app, it just goes nowhere. Biometrics don’t work, entering username and password by hand doesn’t work, using iPhone Password stoppage doesn’t work. Please fix this app. ### 1/5 — Cannot Log in *2023-11-16, version 7.0.1* Was able to login to this application with an iPhone 8 plus. Upgraded to an iPhone 11 Pro Max and it will not let me in or let my wife in on her iPhone 8 plus. We can login via safari web browser. An application is a shortcut of the web browser so same user ID and login should be able to get you in. Useless…. ## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Huge improvement but still requires work. *2024-12-13, version 8.0.1* Big improvement from older versions. Most of the 1 star reviews are from login issues. They have corrected that with biometric login on my iPhone. The previous MFA a few years ago was a nightmare. They also need to improve the password reset/change process to include your celllphone number. One thing they can improve is to separate the actual cash available in margin type account from the Buying power. As of now, you cannot figure out how much free cash balance to withdraw from margin without contacting your broker/adxisor. They could also add a tab or link for the e-documents like confirms and statements instead of logging in from a browser. Please continue the updates. Online portal is working. ### 3/5 — So so *2020-06-02, version 5.3* When you sign on, if your iPhone is in dark mode you cannot see your logon. You have to have the iPhone in light mode to see the logon, password, etc. Pretty unacceptable in my book!!
