It’s got some great starter words, before you can switch to harder words. But there is one thing that I don’t really like. I tried reinstalling but nothing works. I emailed the developers but had no response. I was able to download the app later to my ipad (not preferred), and now I’m disappointed with the limited range of the vocabulary. It contains too many English words. True, Hindi does contain these words, but should hello, hi, goodnight, and Hindi be considered new words for an English speaker? I was disappointed that the large vocab advertised is largely just English words with a Hindi accent. I found better vocab lists on youtube that were more useful. Overall, this app is overpriced and really not good. ### 1/5 — NOT HINDI, IT’S URDU *2018-12-02, version 5.7.1* Trying to learn Hindi for my boyfriend. I told him “Thank you” but he informed me that it’s actually Urdu I was speaking ### 1/5 — Passing Urdu and Arabic origin words for Hindi *2018-09-29, version 5.5.0* Wanted to teach Hindi to my young daughter and gave it a try. Was disappointed to see even basic translation was incorrect. For eg, the word for “thank you” in Hindi is “dhanyawaad” and not “shukriya” an Urdu word as given in the app. Likewise, the word for goodbye is not “alvida” in Hindi. It is a Urdu word of Arabic origin. While I don’t have anything against Urdu or Arabic origin words (they are commonly used in India thanks to pop culture) it is a separate language.
