Hindi is an Indo-Iranian language spoken primarily in Northern India. It is one of the two official languages of the Government of India, along with the English language. It is one of the 22 scheduled languages of India. Over 322 million people speak the Hindi language.  Hindi is mutually intelligible with Urdu, the official language of Pakistan.

The writing system is called the Brahmic scripts. It was derived from the Greek alphabet.

This app gives you a taste of Hindi!
