## What is Hingy?

Give opening and closing your iPhone Duo a sound of their own, while Hingy is visible and active.

FULL SCREEN ON IPHONE DUO
Hingy adapts to the outer display and fills the unfolded inner display. Choose and preview your sounds in either view, while Hingy is visible and active.

CHOOSE BOTH SIDES
Pick a different effect for opening and closing, or switch either one off. Explore 43 sounds: 17 original procedural presets and 26 CC0 recordings, including six farts, everyday sounds and Kenney clicks and impacts. Try Crystal, Music Box, Click, Water Drop, Bubble, Laser, and more. Search the library and preview any effect without changing your saved selection.

MAKE IT YOURS
Import your own short, unprotected audio clips from Files. Clips must be playable by the app, no longer than 5 seconds, and no larger than 8 MiB (8,388,608 bytes). Adjust the effect volume to suit you.

KNOW WHEN IT WORKS
Physical fold detection requires a supported iPhone Duo, a compatible iOS version, and Hingy visible and active. It does not run as a system-wide sound service, listen while another app is open, or trigger while the phone is locked or the app is suspended. It does not change iOS lock sounds, notifications, ringtones, or call behavior.

USE SHORTCUTS
Get Opening Sound and Get Closing Sound pass your selected audio to Shortcuts. Add Play Sound next to play the file without opening Hingy. Available automation triggers and locked execution depend on your installed iOS version and shortcut settings. Hingy does not itself monitor folds while suspended.

TRY THE SOUNDS
Manual previews let you explore every effect on iPhone and iPad without a hinge.

QUIET WHEN YOU CHOOSE
Automatic fold effects respect Silent Mode. Manual previews play even in Silent Mode. All playback respects system and effect volume. Playback follows your selected audio output, including headphones, and mixes with other audio.

LOCAL BY DESIGN
No account, advertising, analytics SDK, or microphone recording. Settings and copied imports are stored in the app's private storage. Device backups and any information you choose to send through external support services are governed by those services.

Use only audio you have permission to use. Hingy is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple.
