## What is Historic Hamilton Tours?

From relatively inauspicious beginnings as a minor militia settlement in 1864, Hamilton has gone on to become New Zealand’s largest inland city. With this collection of self-guided walking tours, explore Hamilton’s historic sites and gain an insight into the lives of some of the people who contributed to the city’s rapid development. The tours feature historic photographs, maps and early advertising material from Hamilton City Libraries’ heritage collections.

Please note that any external links will require a 3G/4G connection or a free WiFi connection. Free WiFi is limited at the south end of Hamilton's central city and in Hamilton East.
