## What is HistroQuest?

LEARN HISTORY THROUGH GAMIFIED GUESS-QUESTS

History becomes more memorable when you do more than simply read about it. HistroQuest transforms historical events into gamified stories in which your own predictions become part of the learning experience.

Instead of immediately telling you what happened, every chapter places you inside a historical situation. You learn about the people, conflicts, and circumstances—and then reach a decisive moment:

What would you have done?

Which strategy might have worked?

What do you think happened next?

Make your prediction before the true course of history is revealed. You might choose the same path as a famous ruler or commander—or discover that history unfolded very differently from what you expected.

HOW A GUESS-QUEST WORKS

1. ENTER THE STORY
Follow an illustrated historical narrative and explore the people, ambitions, conflicts, and decisions that shaped an event.

2. REACH A DECISIVE MOMENT
The story pauses before an important decision or surprising development. Now it is your turn to think.

3. MAKE YOUR GUESS
Choose the answer that seems most plausible to you. There are no penalties and no pressure—only your own reasoning and curiosity.

4. DISCOVER WHAT REALLY HAPPENED
After making your choice, the historical outcome is revealed and explained. You learn not only what happened, but also why it happened and what consequences followed.

5. BUILD LASTING CONNECTIONS
Every decision connects people, places, causes, and consequences. Instead of memorizing isolated dates, you gradually develop a deeper understanding of the story behind history.

LEARNING THROUGH CURIOSITY

The Guess-Quest system is inspired by Errorful Learning: attempting an answer before seeing the solution can encourage your brain to engage more deeply with new information.

Even a wrong guess can become valuable. It creates curiosity, makes the reveal more meaningful, and helps the correct information stand out. You are not punished for making mistakes—because in HistroQuest, guessing is part of learning.

It is like a history quiz, but better. Rather than answering disconnected questions after reading a text, you make decisions while the story is still unfolding. Every guess turns passive reading into an active experience.

EXPLORE HISTORICAL ARCHIVES AND FRAGMENTS

Discover extensive historical archives as well as shorter fragments about extraordinary people and events.

Current and upcoming stories include:

• Napoleon Bonaparte and the decisions behind his rise
• The First World War and the events that transformed Europe
• Vlad the Impaler—the historical ruler behind the Dracula legend
• Ching Shih, who became one of history’s most powerful pirate leaders
• Wojtek, the bear who served alongside Polish soldiers during the Second World War
• The Great Race of Mercy and the dangerous journey that helped save an isolated town
• The Cold War—from the division of Europe to a world shaped by nuclear rivalry
• Additional rulers, conflicts, legends, and forgotten stories from across history

New historical content will continue to expand the world of HistroQuest.

Whether your prediction is right or wrong, every choice takes you deeper into the past.

Guess. Learn. Remember.
