It didn’t give a confirmation page or anything. Next thing I know there’s a taxi driver pulling up to me. I get in not knowing I could cancel and then it was thirty dollars on a five minute ride down the drain. I can’t believe it. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2025-05-24, version 5.0.13* Tried to add multiple cards, didn’t accept any so we couldn’t use this app to get around - disappointing ### 1/5 — Driver picked up wrong person *2025-05-05, version 5.0.11* Driver picked up the wrong person at the airport and once the trip is started there is no way to contact the driver or cancel the trip. I don’t think the culture is set up for ride sharing. ### 1/5 — Can’t sign in! *2025-01-10, version 5.0.9* I upgraded my phone and the app wants me to register even though I’m an existing customer. It gets stuck with “this email is already registered “ but it doesn’t give me a sign in option! ### 1/5 — Said 3 min wait then no cars available after multiple attempts *2024-10-13, version 5.0.8* Cannot rely on this app for travel ### 1/5 — Not reliable *2024-10-09, version 5.0.8* Scheduled a ride several hours in advance for a dinner reservation and they cancelled 15 minutes before the agreed time to pick us up. I will never be using this app again. The ASAP reservations don’t work either. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2024-10-09, version 5.0.8* I’ve had no less than 5 drivers cancel on me in the last hour. I’m now late for my dinner reservation and deleting the app. Don’t even try! ### 1/5 — Didn’t work *2024-06-12, version 5.0.3* We visited Bermuda for a long weekend. Several days we tried to use the app to get a ride. Every time this message popped up “Sorry, All our drivers are currently busy. We are unable to offer you services right now. Please try again sometime later.” It was better to hail a cab off the road or get a dispatch number from a cab to call for pickup. ### 2/5 — Unreliable *2024-05-30, version 5.0.2* I was able to get a ride maybe three out of 10 tries. I had drivers accept my ride and then cancel because it was only a short distance. That driver then hung up on me when I called him. I would not rely on this for airport rides or dinner rides. It really only worked when booking a high fare ride that was not time sensitive. ### 2/5 — Not the best App *2024-05-20, version 5.0.1* I’m overseas and trying to reserve a ride for when I arrive in Bermuda. However, this app won’t allow me to do so. Fail. Epic fail. When I’m in Bermuda, I rarely have enough cellular signal to use an app like this to book a car. If I’m unable to book a car in advance, when I’m on WiFi, then this app is pretty much useless. ### 2/5 — When it works it’s great *2023-11-15, version 4.3.3* When it works it’s great. Unfortunately more misses than hits. Not many drivers available. Very frustrating ### 1/5 — BUGGY *2023-09-25, version 4.3* 2 problems After i confirm booking it says hitch is not available in my country and shows my location as somewhere near Cape Verde 🇨🇻- every time - so I need to confirm 3 or 4 times till it realizes I’m in bermuda . When I first bout it shows my location perfectly only when I hit confirm does it send me Africa 😩 When I hit confirm it asks me to pay for last ride without showing me a pay button . I hit pay via wallet and still no pay button- how do I pay ? . 3 rd time you do this it says user debt adjusted and allows you to book a new ride ### 1/5 — Unreliable *2023-07-05, version 3.7* Bermuda really needs Uber or Lyft. There is not enough taxi drivers. I'll have to request a ride with Hitch six or seven times before a driver will except it. And the taxi cabs kind of just hang out where all the tourists are so if you got off the beaten path you can never get a ride. Very unreliable app. The app is not very stable. And I'll have connection issues where it'll drop the ride or cancel it automatically. ### 1/5 — One of the worst apps *2023-06-17, version 3.7* Such a poor app. They overcharge me often. Once they charged me over $100 for what it should have been just $20. The help button doesn’t work and you have to send an email from their corporate site. Today I was trying to get a taxi for 45 minutes and had no luck. Then the app started showing an error message “you have insufficient balance”and doesn’t let me even request a taxi. There’s no number to call…this is one of the worst apps I’ve ever seen in my life. ### 1/5 — No ride *2023-06-02, version 3.7* Charges $30. Driver never picked us up. As a tourist, my home is not relevant to trips but I could not edit this. The whole app is awkward and I see no way to w it when I get to Bermuda. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Overpriced and overcharged you *2026-08-11, version 5.0.29* Highway robbery, the premier of Bermuda owns the app and blocks out competition and charges ungodly amounts for transportation. If the app says it will cost between like $50-$56 it will always be the upper number no matter what. They also tried charging me $81 for a $44 ride and only did something about it when I threatened to dispute the charge twice, and the refund still made the ride cost $47 not $44. Scammers. ### 1/5 — Awful app *2026-05-31, version 5.0.27* Often gives incorrect locations, times and prices. Charges for cancellation fees even when a driver drives past you into town, and it is over 20 minutes late. Awful app and experience. ### 1/5 — Application is not stable *2026-05-22, version 5.0.26* I have iPhone 15 Pro Max. I used the application once and after that I’m not able to launch the application any longer. Tried reinstalling it multiple times as well as restarting the phone several times as well. I got no support from their team to load it up. ### 1/5 — Waste of time *2025-07-13, version 5.0.14* Worst app ever! Missed my flight because no taxis would come. The app gave various errors including “insufficient balance” even though it had my credit card, “all drivers busy” which continued for 1.5 hours…I tried booking a ride the day before but it wouldn’t complete. Taxi service in Bermuda is an absolute joke. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2025-06-25, version 5.0.14* Tried to use this multiple times throughout our stay in Bermuda. We were able to get ONE ride throughout our five day trip. One! The app would say drivers were available ând we would plan around it but then when you confirmed the request they had no drivers available. Terrible. ### 1/5 — Caution against relying on *2025-06-18, version 5.0.14* Thankfully i was along a bus route because no drivers were available during hour of trying. Waited an hour for the bus to come. Used this multiple times a day for a week and the rides were spot on and I never waited. Not to mention all the drivers were the nicest and very pleasant. Get it TOGETHER!!!! ### 5/5 — Don’t be foolish - Download this app!! 💯 *2019-09-03, version 3.2.0* The app works similarly to Uber, Lyft, and other ride sharing apps. Is it perfect? No. However, it does exactly what it needs to do—and makes your trip A HECK of a lot easier!! Especially because it saved us from having to constantly go to an ATM machine... which would have been annoying. But thankfully, Hitch handled all of our payments (including tip) through the app! So we never had to carry around much cash. (For reference, IF YOU DO NOT use Hitch, you‘ll have to be reliant on somebody else calling a taxi—which leaves you in the dark about how far your driver is... So, let’s say your driver cancels, (WITHOUT the app) you’ll have no idea what’s going on! You’ll just be standing around in the heat, waiting—not knowing you need to call a new one. 🤷🏼‍♀️😪 ALSO, most regular cabs don’t accept credit cards... meaning, you would have to carry a significant amount of cash on you at all times (not safe) and repeatedly make pits stops along your drive to get more cash from an ATM. That’s just an unnecessary hassle, in my opinion, and all those ATM fees add up. Moral of the story: make your life easier and download Hitch! It’s free and totally worth it!!! 💯😍 ~~~ Side note to the developers: My only complaint is that sometimes I won’t get notified that my driver has arrived until *after* I fully close out and refresh the app... This seems like a minor issue, but if you could fix this, I think the app would be perfect. It’s a little annoying to quit out, so the app can update. Thank you for creating such a useful tool to alleviate stress on vacation. Friendly driver, quick service. The restaurant said it would take 30-45 mins if we called for a taxi. I've never waited more than 5 minutes using this app and it's great that it shows where your driver is and what his name etc is. Great to not have to carry cash or wait for change either. However the app is pretty slow to update with driver’s location, so you have to really be aware of when the driver may arrive. It asks for a card to be added in the app. Otherwise seems ok. If no longer integrates with Wallet , I suggest removing that tag. ### 3/5 — Useful but needs improvement *2024-06-29, version 5.0.3* Needs the following improvements: using iPhone SE with iOS 17.5.1 1. The ability to schedule a ride for later. 2. The map zooms out to global view, and if you zoom back in after several swipes, it zooms back out when the map updates. Makes the map essentially useless. 3.
