### 1/5 — Worked occasionally, now crashes

*2022-10-16, version 1.6.3*

I’ve been using the app for a month or two. The last couple times I have tried it, it sees the charger and then the app quits. I tried restarting the phone, reinstalling the app, etc. What a mess. Clearly not compatible with iOS 16. Even when it was working, it is clunky and slow.

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2022-05-15, version 1.6.3*

Simply a horrible app.

### 1/5 — This app used to work until the recent update

*2022-04-16, version 1.6.3*

Now it just locks up as soon as I open it and doesn’t recognize my x2 black edition anymore…

### 1/5 — App broken after last update

*2021-01-21, version 1.6.2*

The app opens to a blank page after the recent update. It wasn’t the slickest app before but atleast it worked and got the job done. Now it doesn’t work at all. Can the devs please fix?

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2019-03-19, version 1.6.1*

This app connects with the charger after opening and closing about 10 times. Why can’t you pair Bluetooth in the Bluetooth settings so it’s always linked??? This app is low grade

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Useless

*2026-07-14, version 1.7.9*

App crashes. It would be nice it see battery stats maybe IR but the app crashes on the latest IOS. Lazy developers.

### 1/5 — CRASHES UPDATE

*2025-04-14, version 1.7.9*

CRASHES WHEN I CLICK ON MY CHARGER AND KEEP CRASHING UPDATE FIX THAT ASAP

### 1/5 — Constant crashes

*2025-03-22, version 1.7.9*

App crashes every time I try to connect to my RDX2 800

### 1/5 — Dangerous

*2024-10-15, version 1.7.9*

When using with my RDX4 it causes the charger to over discharge, or overcharge my lihv batteries. It was set to stop at 4.35 per cell and I caught it at 4.40+. When using the charger without the Bluetooth app, it seems to work properly. Using with the app for some reason makes the charger do weird things. If you use the app at all, when charging is done, you can’t use the charger buttons on the actual charger to start another charge. You either have to use the app and hope it doesn’t glitch the charger further during another charge, or power cycle it. Yes, charger has the latest firmware.

### 1/5 — Buttons missing

*2024-04-27, version 1.7.1*

Why is the scan to go button suddenly gone?

### 1/5 — Update to previous post

*2022-12-05, version 1.6.4*

“It use to be a great device and app, when it worked! Now you just get it asking for a PASSWORD which was never requested or set-up in the past.”

UPDATE: Try this, it worked for me.
1) Turn on your RDX2 PRO.
2) Open the app and connect to the charger. It will request a password and the keyboard for entering one blocks you from being able to get into Settings in the app.
3) Now, turn off the charger while leaving the app open. The keyboard will disappear allowing you to go to Settings. Tap on Change Password. Now enter a 4 digit number PIN. Confirm that again and hit OK.
4) Close the app.
5) Turn on your charger
6) Open the app and connect to the charger.
7) Now when it asks for a password enter the 4 digit PIN. The app should fully open allowing you to use it’s full features.
I hope this works for you.
It shouldn’t be this difficult, it use to work seamlessly.

### 1/5 — Crashes on apple

*2022-10-26, version 1.6.3*

Worked great a month ago… now closes as soon as it loads up. I bought your charger for this feature? I don’t see any replies to any of the other complaints…

### 1/5 — Junk

*2022-10-23, version 1.6.3*

Junk app doesn’t work after new update

### 1/5 — Broken with iOS 16

*2022-10-21, version 1.6.3*

### 1/5 — Crashes immediately on startup

*2022-10-20, version 1.6.3*

This worked for us first several days I had it. Then it started crashing every time I opened it. It opens for a couple seconds then shuts down. iPhone 11 Pro. I tried reinstalling several times and also restarted my phone, but no luck. Please fix.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Intuitive and easy to use

*2024-02-16, version 1.6.43*

Absolute plug an play app for the charger. Using it on RX4 without problems.

Easy to program settings, profiles and use them quickly on any port. Notifications seem to be working as well

### 4/5 — Quite useful

*2018-07-28, version 1.6.1*

I’d mainly like to see updates to make it fit the iPhone X display better. It also doesn’t work with my iPhone 4 but I guess that’s because of Bluetooth 2.1.

### 3/5 — Scan Button Gone

*2024-05-02, version 1.7.1*

Worked well for me in the past on my RDX2 Pro. It still connects to the radio and all the other functions are working except it does not give the ability to scan the barcode to charge. Very disappointing.
Update: I spoke to Hitec support and they told me scan to go has been removed. I hope they bring it back because I used that feature a lot.

### 3/5 — Scan Button Gone

*2024-04-29*

Worked well for me in the past on my RDX2 Pro. It still connects to the radio and all the other functions are working except it does not give the ability to scan the barcode to charge. Very disappointing.

### 3/5 — App crashes

*2022-10-22, version 1.6.3*

App crashes after last IOS 15.7 update. Worked flawless until now. Please do an update

### 2/5 — 50/50

*2026-05-09, version 1.7.9*

Fantastic chargers but sadly app is very unstable crashes 9/10 times

### 2/5 — Stopped working

*2026-03-05, version 1.7.9*

Was great while it worked. But recently I’ve been unable to find or connect to the charger on my iPhone. I’m running iOS 26.3 and the app version is 1.7.9. Please fix!

### 2/5 — Password

*2021-02-05, version 1.6.2*

Updated the app. Now it’s asking for a password? Can’t remember it and I can select forgot password....

### 2/5 — Here is Work Around For Bugs in this App

*2017-05-05, version 1.5*

So Hitec X4 is sold in US as Hitec but is sold around much of the rest of the world as SkyRC Q200 which is the exact same EXCEPT that SkyRC "SKYCHARGER" (yes, one word) app works perfectly, including printing and scanning QR codes. So do yourself a favor and skip this app and get "SkyCharger".

Old Review
Excited to use feature of newly purchased x4 ac pro where you set charging specifications, print QR Code generated by app, tape QR Code to battery and then scan QR code with iPhone to provide charger with charging settings in effort to reduce chances of kid putting in wrong settings and damaging battery or burning down house. Unfortunately does not work despite downloading repeatedly on different phones (6s and 7). When comes time to scan generated / printed QR Code, app errors out saying "request timed out". Hitec technical support is useless. Says first time they've heard of it. Apparently they don't read their own app reviews here or on internet. Will update if fixed. Other features work ok.

### 2/5 — Needs development but has potential

*2016-11-01, version 1.5*

Remote charging for this charger is a great feature and has a lot of potential! The qr scanner will also be great when it is fully implemented.

Currently all qr scans time out so even though a program is created and the batteries are labeled you are unable to scan your batteries to charge them. The scanner is also not included in the andriod app frustrating other users but I am assuming this will be implemented once it is working in iOS.

There is so much potential for data logging and tracking for each battery scanned. If the app could create a log with mah charged, volts before and after charge, number of charges ect users would be able to spot faulty batteries before there is an issue.

Overall a good start but the functionality isn't all there and the technology isn't being fully utilized. I am hoping that this will improve in the future!
