## What is Hitokoe?

A small brick phone inside your phone.

Hitokoe is a drawn little phone with five keys: four arrows and ひ. The glass takes no touch — you move the light, press ひ, and hold ◀ to go back.

SIX GAMES
Snake, Slide, Sides, Dial, Mines and Pixel. Beat your best and the run is taped, to watch again in the Album.

PLAY FOR COINS, THEN BUY THE REST OF THE PHONE
Finish a game for 10 coins (once a day for each game), beat your best for 20, and read what Hitokoe posts on the Board. Coins can't be bought. The Bank writes down every coin and keeps your savings, which grow a little each day you come back. Its Shop sells the Camera, the Pager, the Walkie-talkie and a tin can, and charms and stickers to dress the phone.

ONLY THE PEOPLE YOU'VE MET
Add someone by showing your code for their Camera to scan. No names, no profiles: everyone is a five-digit number and a face, stitched by hand or by chance. Standing side by side, connect with the tin can and page each other: letters made of little pictures, sealed so only the two of you can read them.

ALSO ON THE PHONE
• Camera — photos and video, with a cat if you like.
• Walkie-talkie — hold to record, let go to pause, keep the tape.
• Album — everything you keep, and every personal best.
• Board — what Hitokoe posts, the same for everyone.
• Sponsor — buy the maker a glass of soy milk or a bowl of bún bò, and wear a ひ on your face. Nothing else comes with it.
• English and Vietnamese.

WHAT STAYS ON YOUR PHONE
No account, no analytics, no tracking. A small server of ours only carries what two phones send each other — the card you swap when you add someone, and letters — sealed so we can't read either. Back up to a file whenever you like.

ひとこえ, "one voice".

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.2.0 — 2026-11-02

Hitokoe is now a small phone inside your phone.

• Six games you play one move at a time: Snake, Slide, Sides, Dial, Mines and Pixel.
• Charms that swing from your phone, stickers for its body, odd finds in Dial's safe and phở for Snake.
• Coins for playing, a Bank that keeps them, and a Shop that sells the Camera, the Pager, the Walkie-talkie and a tin can. If you had Hitokoe before, the Camera is already yours.
• Add someone with one scan of a code. Everyone goes by a number now.
• Side by side, connect with the tin can and page each other with letters made of little pictures, sealed end to end.
• Sponsor Hitokoe in Settings, and wear a ひ on your face.
• Vietnamese.

Your notebook comes with you: everyone you added is in Contacts, and the moments you kept are in the Album. Choose your avatar when you open it. Shaking phones, study sessions and text cards have made way for the tin can: to meet side by side, both of you press Connect.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-08-31

Meet 2.0 — connecting, rebuilt:

• Meet someone new through one QR door — they knock, you say hello back, both present
• Shake phones together to connect — no buttons
• Cards now send inside the app from the first minute
• Study sessions: hold the mic to whisper — a tiny walkie-talkie in your ear
• Meetings end only when both of you agree
• A new opening tour, redrawn comic pages, and steadier connections throughout

### 1.0 — 2026-07-20
