Either the app is broken, or the camera is broken. They keep making these updates and it breaks it every time they do an update. I can have all three lights on the dash cam. Bought 9 devices. Emailed about 4-5 times. Every email has a deadline, from june to dec. they missed every deadline of their own choosing. Still nothing. Its passed the point of disputing the charge. I just got robbed. This is a scam company ### 1/5 — Scam *2024-12-15, version 8.2.20* I ordered and paid for a device in February. Still haven’t received it, nor have I gotten a refund. Absolutely a scam. ### 1/5 — Waste of $ *2024-10-20* Waited a year for my device to show up. Came with the worst quality mount of any device I’ve ever owned. Had to buy a third-party mount just to get it to stay on the windshield. It’s huge, it’s ugly and the performance is sub-par. Only maps about half (if even) of my drives. I drive with it everyday and even though I have a perfect mount rating it’s only earning $1.20 per week. This was a $300+device. Total waste of time, energy and money. The Reddit community is full of vitriol and completely toxic. Hivemapper even had the nerve to try to sell me another preorder item before I even got my original order. 100% scam, cash-grab. Had I invested my $ straight into Bitcoin 1.5 years ago I’d be in the black but instead I’m still in the red with a brick on my windshield. Selling it on eBay to recoup my losses. Adios Hivemapper! ### 1/5 — Massive Issues with EVERY Update *2024-06-28, version 7.6.7* I am a founding member of Hivemapper using the original device. I waited a year to get my device and once I did every time there was an update the device would fail. I’ve been looking at a beautiful brick in my windshield for over a month. Using email or discord as your only options for Support is a joke. The mini firmware and software updates that continue to have problem after problem makes this an unworthy investment. ### 1/5 — No rewards and no support *2024-06-05, version 7.4.4 (2166)* When it works it’s great but been having issues getting any rewards for about a month. Tried emailing them but they say due to large volumes they can’t help and send you a most common issues help, which didn’t solve anything ### 1/5 — Died after a month *2024-04-19, version 7.1.3* Used for a month, after the latest firmware, it died. Please reach out to our support team at hi@hivemapper.com and we will be happy to help. ### 1/5 — App hasn’t worked in almost a week *2023-07-09* I’ve had this app and dash cam for about two weeks now. The first week everything was kind of working but the UI was still pretty glitchy. Now I can’t even get my wallet to connect to the app therefore it isn’t allowing me to upload map data. At this point I’m unsure if I’ll even recoup the startup cost of the camera. Reading back on these issues, it appears that this has been a consistent problem for this platform. **Developer response:** Hey Tyler - sorry you are facing some issues. There are important fixes rolling out this week to improve the stability of the app and dashcam firmware. Thanks for your patience as we continue to make improvements. ### 1/5 — Ordered my mapper 17 days ago! Nothing yet *2023-06-16, version 6.0.42* I am beyond frustrated! Apart from having to wait two days for an email response from customer service every time I have a question ,the tracking information that they gave me shows that the item has not even left the factory! I have been handed off to several different customer service reps with one even showing with a screenshot that my order was on a two day delivery. I don’t understand why I have to wait 1 to 2 days after each question I have for a simple response? I have resorted to finally writing a negative review in hopes that someone will finally reach out to me and take care of the situation.
