### 4/5 — Needs liquid glass!

*2025-10-13*

Near perfect app, bought the pro version immediately. Only “complaint” is while iOS and iPad has Liquid Glass design, MacOS still uses old sidebar. Please give MacOS consistent sidebar!

### 4/5 — Used for years

*2024-10-22, version 3.5.1*

Fantastic app for my everyday needs, however, I’ve just noticed that the widgets have stopped working for my quick logs. It won’t recognise it on the app when I use a quick log on the widget. Hoping this can get fixed.

### 4/5 — Great app!

*2024-07-29, version 3.4.3*

Which works perfectly with the HiCoffee app.

One feature which I miss is that the required water intake is dynamic an uses information from activities and weather.

### 4/5 — works great

*2024-07-27*

Although it requires some improvement, it works well for free.

### 4/5 — So far this is awesome

*2024-02-05, version 3.3.9*

This app specializes in liquids and tracks what you drink very well. I paid for the full version because I believed it’s worth it. One thing I hope comes to this app is a bar code scanner for drinks to automatically be categorized into its proper position on the drink pyramid including the ounces of the beverage and its proposed contents like sugars and vitamins , caffeine etc…The system works very well on apps like MyFitnessPal and Yuka as I track everything I eat and drink anymore. . My only gripe is the catalog is not easy to navigate having so many beverages on the market plus the ingredients or contents I don’t think I’d ever input all that data myself for so many options out there so hopefully it’s in the works and would make this a 10 star app. Best of it’s class in the liquid tracking space.

### 5/5 — Just a great all round app

*2023-07-14, version 3.2.6*

Apple Watch complications are a joy, as is the app…and it keeps you hydrated 5/5! Also their HiCoffee app is FAB!

### 5/5 — High-Quality

*2023-07-10*

Liking this app so much! Just purchased the permanent version based on the quality of the interface and the feature set. (Also purchased HiCoffee.) Widgets, complications, Siri Shortcuts, syncing — all top-notch.

Not sure, though, that I will be using the app regularly: I am a big fan of having my daily goal for hydration change based upon my location (temperature), current activity level, and actual weight and age. Since these are all factors that the app could have access to, I would love to see HiWater take them into account and set my goal accordingly.

### 5/5 — Easy to use. Timely nudges.

*2023-06-21*

I am now more conscious about staying hydrated and preventing dehydration.

### 5/5 — Simple and intuitive app

*2023-05-25, version 3.2.4*

I was looking for a way to track water intake. One that would sync to the Health app and in turn with the likes of Myfitness pal. This does all that and makes it easy to do so. The Apple Watch integration makes it easy to see and long when needed.

It would be nice if it was able to use the workout data from the health app to update the daily goal. Maybe in a future update. 🤞🏻

### 5/5 — HI Water

*2023-05-16, version 3.2.4*

Hi this app is a amazing to help people to drink a lot of water every day also evening as well-from the round the world .

### 4/5 — 美中不足

*2023-05-14*

唯一没中不足的地方在于，每次自定义添加饮品的时候，能够自动进行分类就完美了。

### 5/5 — Apple Watch

*2023-05-11, version 3.2.4*

Great! but Watch complications don’t work properly

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Widgets

*2024-03-04, version 3.3.10*

Widgets are broken again

### 1/5 — No more access

*2023-11-22*

I can no longer use or download the app after the newest update

### 1/5 — Why do I need to pay again?

*2023-03-06, version 3.2.3*

I already buyed this app in the past. Why do I need to pay again to use the full version?

### 1/5 — Health Kit integration

*2023-03-02, version 3.2.3*

To be perfect, the app should have integration with the health kit and cancel the need to become pro to have access to features. I have deleted the app after this.

### 2/5 — Custom quick logs

*2024-11-26*

Still waiting to customize the names of the quick logs (name) and German language

### 2/5 — Why change the control scheme

*2024-11-19, version 3.5.2*

Im so used to the gestures in wich I selected the water units by now but why change it now? The new version takes double the time. Please give at least the option to use the old one (sideways selection of serving sizes in the quick add Menue instead of holding it down). Good app in other aspects

### 2/5 — Paywall

*2023-10-11, version 3.3.2*

I wonder, what is the benefit here, when you have to pay for aľost everything, that is free elsewhere, even for syncing with Apple Health.

### 3/5 — It’s really a shame because it would be the app I’d use every day.

*2025-03-10, version 3.6.1*

In my opinion it’s is the best on the market. However, it lacks a crucial feature: syncing data with Apple Healt, this made me stop using it and switch to other app.
Additionally, I would also suggest offering a limited-time premium trial, such as one week, with access to all premium features. It’s really a shame because it would be the app I’d use every day.

### 3/5 — Great hydration app BUT...

*2024-10-31*

As many have said, this is one of the best designed hydration apps out there. But adding a drink on the watch does not update the iPhone widget until you open iPhone app. And vice versa - updating iPhone app does not update watch widget until you open app on the watch. Reported this to developer but no response.

### 3/5 — Doesn't work with my Apple Watch

*2024-05-03, version 3.4*

The app works very good on my iPhone but on my watch I can't install any faces or complications.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Simple and perfect

*2026-08-06*

Simple, just what i need

### 5/5 — Dark icon

*2025-09-30*

Hope we can get a dark icon like other Mac OS 26 icons

### 5/5 — Super App zum Tracken

*2025-05-30, version 3.6.1*

### 5/5 — A Must-Have Hydration Companion – HiWater Delivers!

*2025-05-05, version 3.6.1*

HiWater has completely transformed the way I stay hydrated throughout the day. This sleek, beautifully designed app does so much more than just remind you to drink water—it creates a personalized, data-driven hydration experience that actually works.

The interface is intuitive and visually appealing, making it a joy to use. I love how it seamlessly integrates with Apple Health, and the smart reminders feel timely and encouraging without being intrusive.

If you’re looking for an app to help you build healthy hydration habits and stick to them, look no further. HiWater is hands-down the best water tracker on iOS. Highly recommended!

### 5/5 — It could be even better with more beverages to choose

*2024-09-30*

More than Decent. It could be even better with more beverages to choose.

### 5/5 — The Only Real Hydration Tracker

*2024-08-25*

Man, what a great app. I’ve done a lot (days, at least) of research into how to track my hydration, and I’ve downloaded probably a dozen apps. They all suffer from the same shortfall: they only track progress toward a daily goal, which resets at midnight.

Hydration is about more than just how much you drink in a day! Just because you hit your daily goal at 3 pm, that doesn’t mean you’ll be hydrated at 9 pm.

HiWater is the ONLY app that treats hydration as a continuous process. It gives you a reliable and straightforward estimate of your hydration right now, in addition to the daily intake goal. It gives you reminders as you approach dehydration, not just at random times throughout the day (though it can do that too).

Between that feature and their widgets, easy interface, and cross-syncing with their equally awesome caffeine tracking app, I couldn’t be happier with their product.

This is one of the best applications I have ever used, and hands-down the best hydration tracker. I cannot give the team enough props.

### 5/5 — HiWater

*2024-06-06*

This app helps keep me hydrated, which in return helps with my bipolar along with the pills I would like to suggest a feature though. I would like to see you a UPC camera feature to help with personal database

### 5/5 — Great app

*2024-01-07, version 3.3.7*

I love this very much after years of searching for a right water drinking app. I don’t really need pro features as I no longer need to be reminded the time to drink and i don’t drink much else other than water, tea, coffee. But I am considering to support dev to buy pro.

### 5/5 — High-Quality

*2023-07-24*

Liking this app so much! Just purchased the permanent version based on the quality of the interface and the feature set. (Also purchased HiCoffee.) Widgets, complications, Siri Shortcuts, syncing — all top-notch. Not sure, though, that I will be using the app regularly: I am a big fan of having my daily goal for hydration change based upon my location (temperature), current activity level, and actual weight and age. Since these are all factors that the app could have access to, I would love to see HiWater take them into account and set my daily goal accordingly.

### 5/5 — Accountable

*2023-07-16*

keeps me accountable with my water intake every day. I have it on my phone and my work desk.
