### 3/5 — Good not Great

*2015-11-12, version 2.0.5*

Was looking for an app that would help me explain things on the fly to my teammates as well as an app to document some system stuff.

There are some things I like about this app:
-The ability to customize my labels is a nice feature that most of these apps do not have.
-The ease of navigation to the different segments of the ice is well designed and easy to use.

Some negatives would be:
- Line creation is pretty basic. Fine for making an on the fly diagram but insufficient for documenting any systems.
- Maybe I'm wrong but it seems like the "erase feature" clears the entire drawing instead of allowing me to erase individual segments as needed. This seems too odd to be true; I'll dig a little deeper and see if I'm doing something wrong. However; if it is indeed lacking this feature it would be something I would hope can be added later.

Bottom line is that this is a decent app that is missing some features that would separate it from the pack but ultimately is sufficient for "on the fly" drawings.

### 3/5 — one more line

*2010-12-05, version 1.6*

-throw in the ringette lines too

### 3/5 — Needs features

*2010-09-04, version 0*

iPad version doesn't have a way to put away the settings dialog. It is always present and you lose a third of your real-estate.

To make this useful, there needs to be animation recording. For practice time this eliminates the need to remember the drills and this can be used as practice planning tool as well. All ills can be selected before and grouped into "practice #1", etc..

### 3/5 — Good Biard

*2009-12-22, version 0*

Needs two things -

Rotate letters on players for 1/2 ice landscape view.

Need higher contrast colors to tell teams apart easier.

### 3/5 — Needs more features

*2009-06-14, version 0*

To be useful for coaching it needs animation and a list of set plays that should be pre loaded. Also needs to include a practice or drills mode for training, complete with preset defense, passing and shooting drills with full animation. A logical addition when then be to add a puck sound as the play or drill commits. Would also like to be able to substitute postion letter with a number so I can show my team their specific role while in the locker room or on the bench. Add these features and you will see more downloads.

### 4/5 — Update needed

*2009-05-10, version 0*

There should be an update where you can toggle a trail on the players so you can show where they are going and puck passes ect. Other than that good app.

### 4/5 — Cool App!

*2009-04-28, version 0*

Great app! Very cool for coaches of all levels!

Please consider adding animation. That will help distinguish this from blackboards and clipboards.

Well worth the $0.99! Looking forward to updates!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Coach

*2011-12-04, version 1.7*

I can't erase any of the lines after they're drawn. Great otherwise, but it's unusable to me because I can't get rid of them.

### 1/5 — White boards

*2011-10-15, version 1.7*

Scrap ap not worth it and it's only .99

### 1/5 — Not worth the money

*2011-10-15, version 1.7*

The ice background image is low quality and the drawing line colour is ugly. Players/ice are not to proper scale. This is far from a valuable coaching tool. I don't recommend this app at all.

### 1/5 — Last 2 versions have not worked

*2010-07-27, version 0*

The last time this app worked was two versions ago. I used to use this regularly but now can not. As of now, all this does is try to boot. Fix the app and I will rate higher

### 1/5 — Crash

*2010-07-23, version 0*

It's crashing on my iPhone too (3GS updated to iOS4). It worked before.

### 1/5 — Fix

*2009-05-16, version 0*

Also, the players are too big for full ice mode. I tried to set up a blue line face off and the guys were so big they take up too much space to fit properly. And you should be able to zoom by pinching.

Also, trying to get a hold of a player is commonly misinterpreted as a double tap(opening the menu). Make it a triple tap or something distinct.

And when half ice is selected, assume people are going to tilt the screen, and rotate the letters. Nobody looks at ice from the side.

### 2/5 — ?

*2011-02-15, version 1.6*

Dislike

### 2/5 — Hh

*2010-10-31, version 0*

I go to save a drill and there no button to save or go back? It is stuck. I have the iPhone 4.

### 2/5 — Huge potential

*2010-03-04, version 0*

Make a practice option so that all players can be one colour and directional arrows can be used. This can allow a coach to draw up and save practice drills. That is more of what I was looking for.

### 2/5 — white board

*2010-01-27, version 0*

would be better if you had the app showed the puck travel (perhaps a different colour). If your could show movement ie. the player doing a curl and getting the puck I would pay alot more than $.99

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2011-03-15, version 1.6*

Does exactly what its supposed to do. Very customizable.
I wouldn't replace my grease board with it due to it's size on the iPhone but in a pinch or quick on ice drill description it's absolutely perfect for it. If I had an iPad I would assume that it would replace my grease board. It saves plays and no pens to keep track of.

### 5/5 — Best in class

*2010-08-08, version 0*

Hockey WhiteBoard is the best app in its class. Each team can have a custom color and players can have custom identifications - such as initials or uniform number; don't underestimate the importance of that, especially with younger players ("OK kids, we're red and they're blue." "But, coach, we're black and they're white." ...).

Moving a player can provide a trailing line and you can draw directly on the board, independent of player movement.

On top of that, the app offers the option to change the number of skaters on the rink (extra attacker, penalty kill, etc.) and the view of the ring (full/half).

It is beautiful on the iPad and still very functional on the iPhone/iPod touch.

Finally, the creator was very responsive to email when I contacted him.

### 5/5 — Finally works

*2010-07-28, version 0*

It looks like the latest version fixed the crashing issue. The app works as advertised. Great

### 5/5 — Awsome

*2009-03-31, version 0*

Great app forcplayers and coaches of all ages

### 4/5 — Great app

*2012-03-11, version 1.7*

How do u not like this???? You can do everything!!u can save and draw stuff and everything. Just 2 things: eraser and the ability to make the little dots ( players) to follow the plays/ drills you write.
