I wish the app was more like the website. *2026-04-16* I love Hodgdon reload data. There’s a ton of useful info. I wish they tabulated the load data so it can easily be found using a basic search function. Favorites would be great for a quick reference. Also, I’d like to see min and max loads for any given cartridge combo so I can confidently develop loadouts that work best for my firearm. Currently, I have to flip through pages and zoom in to read what they have. If I leave the app for too long, the book refreshes and I have to start my search all over again. I hope to see some simple improvements to make this more user friendly! ### 2/5 — Just buy the paper book *2024-10-28* Thought this app would be the manual in app form (easy navigation to caliber, bullet weight, etc) but it’s just a PDF version of the book with no search options. However, the app has effectively no user interface and horrible usability. The data you buy is literally just a PDF download of their book, and the app’s pdf reader lacks basic functionality. In other words, if I want to look up 30-06 data, I have to scroll to the index on page 6, pinch-to-zoom to see which page 30-06 is on, the scroll through to page 131, then pinch-to-zoom in order to read the text on the page. There technically is a search bar, but searching a cartridge just brings up every page in the book that has your search text on it (which means the majority of search results find the articles in the first 70 pages of book, and it doesn’t direct you to the data for the cartridge you’re trying to look up). Skip the app. Bookmark hodgdon’s website and use that to find their load data. ### 1/5 — Just wierd *2021-12-18, version 3.0* This app just makes no sense to me. I’ve emailed app support numerous times and no reply. I know it’s $13. But still it’s really the fact I lost access on a weekend I need it. Hogdon doesn’t actually have any affiliation with this app it’s ran by a third party. I have no idea how because I cannot find the option on your app. I got stuck in your 2024 preview and had to close the app by swiping up and deleting it from the menu. I think I will just buy your paper manual. At least I can figure out how to use that without needing some special form of telepathy to do so. Oh, and I am not going through the effort of sending an email as your app recommends. The selections really help focus on all the variables. Bringing load starting points and final choice with bullet and powder selections to the front while being able to plunk around with what-ifs as quickly as a touch of the finger. Easy to navigate and access any cartridge in the manual. Apparently there has been an ownership change and I couldn’t be more disgusted, angry and annoyed. I had to re- download from the App Store, locked out of my own property and it doesn’t even work again! If I could rate it negative I would. Darn you guys! ### 5/5 — Everyone else is stupid *2018-11-02, version 2.0* This is an app that offers Hodgdon’s annual reloading magazine. You can buy 1 year and never have to buy another one, ever. Or you can buy several years, totally up to you. They update powders every year, just like EVERY OTHER LOAD MANUAL OUT THERE. But instead of putting out a $60 manual every 5 years or so, they put out a $9 manual every year. And there are always very good articles about new powders, cartridges, guns, suppressors, etc. If you want JUST data, go to their website. If you want a reloading magazine, buy one or two or all, whatever you want. I own several years, but only buy a new one when there is a new powder I want to learn about. Everyone giving 1 star reviews are idiots. The app is fine. The app is what it says it is and it works. All the idiots giving 1 star review aren’t reviewing the product, they just want someone to give them something free that someone spent hundreds of hours putting together. To the one guy that said they already bought Hodgdon’s products, so they should give them the data for free...LOOK AT THE FRONT OF THE BOTTLE YOU F@&KING TOOL! Nothing shadey about it. If you want the manual, YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR IT!! What a concept. Why would you believe they were going to give you FREE here what you have to pay for in print? Not their fault you didn't read the full description before you downloaded. You were just PO'd that you thought you were going to get something for free and didn't pay attention!! My only complaint with this app is that it will not orientate to landscape mode. you can only view in portrait mode.
