Just don’t activate it unless you want your plan period to start running. Maybe this is only an issue when you are already in an “activatable” foreign country, but the documentation is not clear, so better to stay on the safe side. Contrary to some other providers, you can just activate the eSIM on arrival without needing WiFi there EDIT: I have to remove one star because on my 4G phone in UK, I can only get LTE ### 2/5 — eSIM number *2026-06-16* I downloaded the app and it prompted me to install eSIM on my phone before I could purchase a data plan and the installation was successful but wasn’t allocated a number how do I go about it please **Developer response:** Hi Freshrex1! Then it says Failed to verify authentication token. Unlike other mainstream eSIM platform, No web platform that must install their app for purchase and install. In my experience, only the Chinese Apps like Aliplay, Taobao, etc have this practice as in web platform, customers have many mature approaches to protect their privacy. In their web, only content is to request you to install their apps to proceed, all information on their web and apps is insufficient. If I don’t have the redemption code, I am sure that I will never try it. Furthermore, the once I landed, iPhone warned me that I had troubles in mobile services that needs connect Apple support. I connected to internet by using the wifi provided by airport. Upon running the analysis, Apple suggested me to remove the eSIM and restart the iPhone. I removed it and bought another mainstream eSIM that I used to use while my traveling then all fixed. I suggested that do not waste time to try because of free redemption code. Referral code never worked ### 1/5 — Simply does not work *2025-11-02, version 2.0.6* App processed my payment but gave no message. No plan appeared. Help desk advised to delete app and download again. Tried again with another card with same outcome. Help desk gave me a code but the checkout button didn’t work. Then when I tried to reapply the code it said it had been used too many times. So 2 payments. 2 plans in the system. No sim. Engineers are apparently looking at the problem.
