## What is Hollywood Player?

Your Agency. Their Legacy.

Welcome to Hollywood Player - the deepest talent management simulation on mobile. Build your agency from nothing, sign promising actors, and guide their careers through the glamour, chaos, and ruthless politics of the entertainment industry.

Every decision matters. Every scandal has consequences. Every star rises or falls by your hand.

THE LIFE OF AN AGENT

Your clients aren't just stats - they're people with dreams, flaws, and complicated lives. An actor driven by artistic integrity will resent being pushed into commercials. A volatile talent might deliver a career-defining performance - or implode on set. A rising star's secret relationship could become tomorrow's tabloid headline.

You'll manage their careers, but you'll also manage their humanity.

BUILD CAREERS ACROSS ENTERTAINMENT

FILM - From micro-budget indies to tentpole blockbusters
TELEVISION - Broadcast dramas, prestige streaming, limited series
THEATRE - Local stages to Broadway and the West End
COMMERCIALS - Quick money, but at what cost to credibility?

Match actors to roles based on their unique abilities - physicality, emotional range, voice, charisma, improvisation, psychology, and screen presence. The right role elevates a career. The wrong one can end it.

SURVIVE THE SPOTLIGHT

Fame is a double-edged sword. As your clients rise, so does the scrutiny.

Manage the fallout from tabloid exposes, relationship drama, tell-all memoirs from bitter exes, substance issues, mental health crises, legal troubles, blackmail attempts, and career-ending scandals.

Choose your response carefully. Deny, confirm, deflect, or get ahead of the story. Hire PR firms, lawyers, or crisis managers. Some fires can be contained. Others must burn out.

PROTECT THEIR WELLBEING

Push too hard and your clients will break. Monitor exhaustion, stress, and scrutiny. Schedule breaks. Build support networks. A burnt-out actor delivers poor performances. A happy, healthy client builds a legacy.

CHASE GLORY

Awards season brings opportunity and heartbreak. Navigate the Lumiere Awards (Film), Broadcast Circle Awards (Television), and Marquee Awards (Theatre). Celebrate victories. Console losses. Watch careers transform with a single win - or crumble under a Worst Performance nomination.

### 3/5 — Over Priced.

*2026-05-16*

For the price you expect more. Good foundation just needs more..gets boring quite quickly.

**Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Really glad the foundation is resonating — there's a lot more depth to uncover as your agency grows, but your feedback on content pacing is noted and we're already working on new features that will give you more to pursue long term.

The game is a premium release with no ads and no in-app purchases, so everything you see is everything you paid for — and there's more on the way. Hope you'll stick around for the updates.

### 5/5 — Favorite game, some bugs

*2026-05-09*

Absolutely love this game, very reminiscent of Cattle Call on Steam (which no longer works).

Some bugs I’ve found though: it is possible for an actor to be cast in multiple roles for the same movie (had this happen multiple times).

When clicking negotiate, even to accept the offered money for a role, the offer is sometimes WAY less than it started with. For example, the offer email will say $40,000 but when you click negotiate to accept it, it might now say $7,000. Not all the time, but often enough to notice.

The game is based off of a 52-week year, but when you look at a player’s calendar, it lists four weeks per month. Which equals 48, so four of the weeks are missing from an actor’s calendar.

Roster limit seems to be 15 but I was able to sign way more than that without issue (other than their weekly cost).

As far as things I’d love to add — info about a project in an actor’s filmography (genre? Big budget? Broadway versus community theater?) these things are listed when you first submit for the project, but are long forgotten by the time the project comes out.

Also, an ability to see if an actor should be going for 1 star projects or 5 star.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for this — genuinely one of the most useful reviews we've received and we're really glad you're enjoying it.

On the bugs — all four are on our radar. The duplicate casting issue is already being monitored, the negotiation offer discrepancy is a known issue we're fixing, the 48 vs 52 week calendar is a great catch we hadn't spotted ourselves, and the roster cap enforcement is something we're actively deciding on.

On the filmography — you're absolutely right that the data exists at submission and should persist more richly. Richer project entries with genre, budget tier and more are coming in a future update.

Every actor also has a heat star rating that corresponds directly to project star ratings — a 3-star actor should be targeting 3-star projects. As their momentum grows so does their ceiling. Hope that helps in the meantime.

Thank you again for taking the time. This is exactly the kind of feedback that makes the game better.

### 2/5 — The game is not bad

*2026-04-27*

It’s not bad just need to update a lot more add more features the money system is working but the system seems a little harsh update that more and add more things to do

**Developer response:** Thank you for the feedback. More features are already in the pipeline and we're actively working on updates that will give you more to do between advances.

On the money system — noted. The intention is that lean periods early in your agency's life should feel pressured, but we hear you that it can tip into feeling unfair rather than challenging. We'll be looking at that balance in an upcoming update.

Hope you'll give it another shot when the updates land.

### 5/5 — Great, with even more potential

*2026-04-12*

Okay. This is my favorite “Hollywood” game out there. I love that there are awards for film, theatre, and tv. I love the system you have for figuring out what your actors are good at. I love how you can browse open auditions and submit your actors for it (and how easy it is). I like the cold vs. hot system you have. This is all stuff that’s working in my opinion.

Here’s stuff I would LOVE to see added.
1. A Variety Magazine list of “Top 10 New Actors”. It would be a cool milestone to get your actors on this list, which would be released every year.
2. Creating milestones for your actors to reach. For example, an actress who stars in like, 3 horror films that gross 100 million each gets dubbed a “Scream Queen.”
3. Make starting on SNL another milestone, the way you have with appearing on a Late Night Show.
4. Can there be something that your agency can spend money on other than therapy for your actors? Right now there’s no real penalty to going deep in debt, or benefit to having millions in the bank. Can you expand your agency? Can that be a way to break into the Elite tier? Can there be other agencies that you compete against?
5. That brings me to my ultimate ask, can there be a wider world that you create? For example, when your actor is nominated for an award, can we see the other nominees? And can those nominees be people in that world that star in projects, and maybe we can poach them from other agencies? And can there be news stories from Variety or Deadline that talk about these actors? This is obviously the hardest thing to do, but no other game does it, and it would do wonders for the replay ability of this game.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for this review — it genuinely made our day. Knowing the award system, skill discovery, audition flow and heat mechanics are all landing the way we intended means a lot.

Your feature ideas are fantastic and we want you to know they haven't fallen on deaf ears. Actor milestone titles, a Variety-style annual list of emerging talent, and richer non-promotional TV bookings including a prestigious live sketch show equivalent are all already in our development pipeline.

The bigger vision — competing agencies, a living actor world, an industry news feed — is exactly where we want to take the game long term. It's ambitious and we want to do it properly, so it will come in stages rather than all at once. But it's coming.

Thank you for taking the time to write this. It's the kind of feedback that shapes where the game goes next.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.67 — 2026-07-29

What's New in Hollywood Player
The Living World Update: Part 1 is here, and this release squashes a big batch of bugs across your agency's biggest deals and contracts. Everything's running smoother than ever — and this is just the beginning, with more of the Living World still to come.
Fixed in this update:
TV renewals now stick. Accept a renewal for the next season and it stays firmly on your actor's schedule instead of vanishing once their break ends. Season 2 is going ahead.
End-of-season pay is correct. Renewal negotiations now actually matter — your actor is paid the per-episode rate and episode count you agreed at the table, not a flat default.
Write-outs work as intended. Temporary and permanent write-out requests behave correctly through the renewal flow.
Multi-picture deals now reach the stars who deserve them. Elite talent will finally be approached for multi-picture deals as their heat climbs.
Deal pictures get booked. Accept a picture under a multi-picture deal and it lands on your actor's calendar — one picture at a time, with no more weekly flood of offers.
Direct offers get booked too. Accept a studio's direct project offer and the film is properly scheduled to shoot.
Direct offers show the money up front. The fee for the role now appears right in the offer email, so you know what you're signing for.
Fair paydays. Direct offer fees are now in line with an actor's standing, so payouts and your commission make sense.
Smarter deal jeopardy. Heat maintenance on multi-picture deals is now judged against the level your actor signed at, so deals no longer collapse the moment they're inked.
More of the Living World is on the way. Thanks for playing — and keep the feedback coming!

### 2.66 — 2026-06-07

Two bug fixes and a quality of life improvement in this update.

**Sequel & Renewal Logic Fixed**
Film sequels and TV renewals were incorrectly based on an individual actor's performance rating rather than the project's box office and critical results. A $500M blockbuster will now correctly generate a sequel regardless of how any single actor performed in it. A flop won't get one no matter how good your client was. Theatre extensions are now driven by critical reception. This was reported by a player and we're grateful for the catch.

**Scheduling Transparency**
Contract and direct offer emails now include a full schedule breakdown — pre-production, rehearsals, and filming — so you know the total calendar commitment before entering negotiations. No more signing a deal only to discover it conflicts with an existing commitment.

**Media Relations Fixed**
Promotional appearances now correctly update your relationships with media outlets as intended.

### 2.65 — 2026-05-30

A small but important fix in this update.

Promotional appearances were not correctly updating your relationships with media outlets. Completing a press tour should build goodwill with the outlets involved — and declining requests should cool those relationships. This is now working as intended.

If you've noticed your media relations staying flat despite active promotional campaigns, this update should fix that.

### 2.64 — 2026-05-23

This is the biggest update since launch.

**Media Appearances**
Your clients can now be invited to a full range of media appearances outside of their promotional commitments — and the pool changes as their career grows.

Emerging talent at 3.5 stars may be invited onto Celebrity Ballroom, Stars on Ice, Into The Wild, The Round Table, or a Celebrity Roast. As they climb, the offers get more prestigious — the Late Night Circuit with three distinct hosts, Celebrity Fortress, a Documentary Profile, and eventually The Olivia Winn Show and a Magazine Cover Story. At the very top, Saturday Night's Alright awaits — once per career, and genuinely career-defining.

Each appearance carries real consequences. Schedule blocks, appearance fees, and outcome logic tied to your client's actual attributes — physicality matters on the dancing shows, intelligence on the debate circuit, charisma and improvisation at a roast. High ego and low self-awareness can turn any appearance into a controversy. The Round Table carries a specific risk — one that can trigger a full scandal.

Music video invitations now arrive based on your client's star level, with the band's cultural weight multiplying any outcome in either direction.

**Career Milestones**
Actors can now earn permanent career titles based on patterns in their performance history. Three acclaimed horror leads earns a Scream Queen or Scream King. Three consecutive box office failures earns Box Office Poison. Eleven milestone types in total — some to engineer toward, some to avoid. Each is noted permanently on the actor's profile and in their biography.

**Profile Improvements**
Biographies now read like a real career story — opening with how the actor was discovered, noting award wins, career milestones, magazine recognition, and memorable media appearances as they accumulate over time.

More updates are in development. As always, reviews and feedback shape what comes next.

### 2.63 — 2026-05-20

A significant update this week, with new features inspired directly by your reviews and feedback.

Five industry magazines now publish annual lists recognising your clients. The Callsheet spotlights emerging talent every January, Pinnacle names the most bankable stars in March, Glitter reveals its Sexiest Actor Alive in June, The Gold Standard lists Hollywood's highest earners in September, and Spotlight Weekly crowns the most influential actors in November. If your client makes a list you'll hear about it — and it will follow them permanently on their profile.

Actor profiles now have a richer filmography. Tap any entry to expand it and see the genre, production tier, box office performance, earnings, and the actor's strongest and weakest attributes from that performance.

Several bugs have also been fixed in this update, including negotiation offers now correctly matching the figure shown in the original email, actor calendars now displaying all 52 weeks of the game year, and an issue where an actor could be cast in more than one role on the same production.

Thank you for the continued feedback — it shapes every update.
