### 4/5 — Text to Speech

*2026-01-24, version 1.3.26*

The text to speech is not functioning properly. I have to reset my phone every time to get it to work.

### 3/5 — Broken on iPhone 17

*2025-11-09, version 1.3.24*

It just crashes. Latest version too.
Update: I deleted and reloaded the app. It’s working now but all my bookmarks and everything are lost. This is from buying a new phone and so the developers should test this out. Basically restore your phone apps when you buy a phone. Somehow the transfer is not compatible. Deleting and restoring is not acceptable.

### 3/5 — ios 26 + iPhone 17 Pro un-usability

*2025-10-11, version 1.3.23*

Unable to access any verse or chapter outline, effectively making app unusable. Quite literally, app crashes after selecting a book, chapter, and verse to read. Tried every fix in the book, there’s an issue.

### 3/5 — Broken on iPhone 17

*2025-09-20, version 1.3.20*

It just crashes. Latest version too.

### 5/5 — Kindle Morning Revival links to the Recovery Version app no longer work

*2025-06-21*

One of the most beneficial features of the recovery version app is that you could split your iPad screen and have Kindle running the morning revival on one side and the recovery version app on the other half of the screen. You could go through the outline and tap on the verses in the outline and they would open in the recovery version app. With the latest update those links open some webpage with just the recovery version text. Why remove the feature that had been working perfectly all this time And was extremely beneficial in studying the word?

The links are working now, thank you!👏👏👏

**Developer response:** Please update the app to the latest version (1.3.19) and try deep links again.

### 2/5 — Deep links gone

*2025-06-18, version 1.3.18*

It was a huge help to have the recovery version and footnotes and all the cross references available via kindle app on my iPhone but now all we get is a text only website - and the deep links setting is nowhere to be found - what happened? This was a huge help

### 4/5 — Read aloud stopped working

*2025-06-17, version 1.3.18*

The read-aloud function stopped working for me from the most recent update. I am also up to date on my iOS software. I used to be able to play up to 30 chapters at a time. Now it stops after even a few verses.

### 5/5 — Love it

*2025-06-10, version 1.3.18*

Best Bible translation and app. Just wondering if there is a way to control the reading speed of the audio (particularly to slow it down a tad)?

### 3/5 — The App is Glitchy

*2025-05-15, version 1.3.17*

I love this version of the Bible but the app has glitched on me a lot. It no longer lets me highlight and the dates were never right to begin with. It once deleted all my highlights.

### 5/5 — Experiential footnotes

*2025-04-23, version 1.3.17*

The light contained in the footnotes convicts me of the darkness in my heart and leads me to repentance.

### 5/5 — Danke!

*2025-02-28*

Unglaublich, wie die Fußnoten mich von Vers zu Vers leiten und alle erklären können!

### 5/5 — Excellent study Bible with rich footnote

*2025-01-18, version 1.3.17*

Experiential footnote for spirituality nourishment. High recommended for Christians!

### 5/5 — Nose que paso seme cambio a inglés

*2025-01-14, version 1.3.17*

Nose que paso se cambio a inglés

### 5/5 — Very Helpful

*2024-10-14*

I particularly like the profiles feature as it helps keep track of different schedules I’m reading.

One feature toggle that is missing is showing/hiding the outline points throughout the chapter, similar to how it works with superscripts and annotations. The outline points can be distracting when reading verses in continuity.

### 5/5 — Wonderful Way to Get the Light in the Word

*2024-07-24*

I love this translation for its faithfulness to the original languages and its clarity in English. I’ve had a printed copy of the NT since the early 90s and the whole Bible since 2003. I regularly use this electronic version because it’s so easy to use, it’s bug free, and it’s well supported. Also, this version has so many aids to get into the Word. There is an outline of every book. There are cross references to other verses. And the highlight to me is the extensive footnotes that explicate the truths of the Bible. The footnotes reflect an emphasis on how God’s life, received through the divine birth of every believer, is available to us as believers so that Christ can do in us what we cannot do and to be in us what we cannot be. The Word is so living to me. Can’t recommend enough.

### 5/5 — Synchronisation between two devices?

*2024-07-04*

Hi,

Is it possible to synchronise the annoted bible between two devices (such as laptop and phone)?

If not, could this be added in the future update?

Grace to you,

Léon

### 3/5 — Awesome version, poor App

*2024-06-04, version 1.3.11*

I love this Bible version! Hands down the best version for enjoying and truly understanding God’s Word. That being said, the App has its issues. Number one problem is lack of customer support. No way to contact developers with questions or issues. No phone number exists, and an email offered by the publishing company comes back as invalid. Second problem is it doesn’t seem to transfer purchase to new phones. I bought it on an iPhone and have since switched to an Android; no way to transfer the purchase. I know another user who transferred the purchase from an old iPhone to a new one seemingly fine, but now it constantly crashes. This has potential, but is currently not worth the money for what you get.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not working

*2024-11-08, version 1.3.11*

This crashes if I switch books in the Bible every time. Please fix this bug. My phone runs on iOS 18.1. Please update.

### 1/5 — Glitchy and kicks me out

*2024-02-05, version 1.3.2*

I really wish this app would work and the developers would fix it. Very disappointing.

### 1/5 — Not what you think it is

*2023-07-03, version 1.2.41*

This is “a” bible, BUT, created with MORE commentary, a very large percentage, than bible, by Witness Lee.

### 1/5 — Problems

*2023-03-01, version 1.1.102*

Recently purchased this App.
Problems encountered:

1) unable to select a fraction of a whole verse, e.g in order to highlight different parts of the same verse with different colours.

2) unable to notate a verse which has been highlighted

Please help,

Li

### 1/5 — App bug

*2022-08-02, version 1.1.60*

Since I’ve got the version 1.1.60, it doesn’t work properly. It gets stuck on “adding user data” and the app can’t be used at all.

### 1/5 — Stuck on adding user data

*2022-07-15, version 1.1.60*

Version 1.1.60 on iPhone 7 will not go past splash screen press and hold does nothing.

### 1/5 — Loading issue with 1.0.66

*2021-10-07, version 1.0.72*

I have iPad mini 3, IOS 12.5.5. After installing update 1.0.66, when loading I see the splash screen and then kick back out to home.

I have already tried hard-restart my iPad and reinstalled the app. But same problem. Please fix.

To day I still can’t open it.please as soon as fix thanks. I just updated but that same as.

### 1/5 — Price difference

*2021-08-01*

The price in the Indian apple store is much expensive than the US store (24.18 vs 19.99)and the Google play store. It does make a big difference for Indian buyers. Appreciate if the price could be standardized. Looking forward to a change in the pricing.

### 1/5 — Filled w bugs and glitches

*2021-05-27, version 0.0.99*

Chart in Matthew 1 should be in footnotes not in verse page

### 2/5 — The audio feature almost never works!

*2026-03-04, version 1.3.27*

I love the Bible translation and the footnotes. However, the app itself is only tolerable because, for more than a month now, the audio feature almost never works. To get it to play, I have to delete and reinstall the app each time. Please fix this. Such excellent text deserves reliable features to match.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Bug - can’t see footnote

*2026-06-29, version 1.3.28*

Good app. But I can’t see the entire footnote on Romans 8:2 on the word ‘law’. It would be great if there was some way to export data and highlighting etc. attached to verses (as a kind of a backup) too so if I lost my phone I wouldn’t lose certain things.

I don’t know if there is a better TTS and I’m guessing no API is used, but I guess keep an eye out on that.

### 5/5 — Excellent study Bible

*2026-05-28, version 1.3.28*

The Recovery Version of the Bible is an excellent version to receive life and light.

### 5/5 — Excellent Study Bible

*2026-05-20*

This is by far the best study bible I’ve come across. It’s full of meaningful footnotes that have helped me understand the meaning of each verse and how it relates to my relationship with Jesus Christ. Two additional things I especially like - the first is how much effort was put into capturing the intention of the original greek language. As a student of New Testament greek, that was a refreshing change for me to see. The second is the exposition of the book of Revelation. While it certainly speaks of prophesy, it stays centered on Jesus Christ. The footnotes on the New Jerusalem in Revelation are also phenomenal.

### 5/5 — Voice over

*2026-01-05, version 1.3.25*

Lord permitting, it would be good to consider adding a better text to voice update so that it is easier to listen to. The current voices are very hard to listen to, they are too robotic and hard on the ears. Otherwise it is really good. Thank you

### 5/5 — Love it but technical problems

*2025-09-29, version 1.3.20*

Love this Bible and works wonderfully on my phone however on my iPad, whenever I tap on a book, then tap on the chapter I want to read it force closes. I hope this gets resolved soon since it is my preferred app

### 5/5 — Glitch with the app

*2025-08-31, version 1.3.20*

I’m having trouble selecting different books from the Bible. The app automatically shuts off after changing from book of John

### 5/5 — So Good

*2025-08-23, version 1.3.20*

This version is the best study Bible I could find. The footnotes provide not only deep insight into the verses but also ways to subjectively experience them. The outline presents the main thought of the context, leading to a fuller understanding of the truth. It is like a treasure box filled with gold nuggets—shining spiritual revelations.

### 5/5 — An Excellent Bible App with Room for UI/UX Refinement

*2025-07-23*

Thank you for this wonderful app! It’s been extremely useful and helps me stay consistent in reading and receiving the Word daily. I appreciate the effort put into both content and design. After regular use, I’d like to share some suggestions to further enhance the user experience:

1. Verse Interaction
	•	Current: Tapping a verse simply shows or hides UI components, while long pressing brings up the tool UI—but the placement varies with each press, resulting in an awkward and unpredictable experience.
	•	Suggestion: When a verse is tapped, consider underlining it and opening an unobtrusive bottom sheet modal. This could present highlight tools, save, copy, share, and “more info” actions in a consistent spot. Also, rather than toggling UI components on click, it feels more intuitive if these controls appear when the user scrolls up.

2. Left/Right Swiping
	•	Current: Swiping left or right either does nothing or navigates to bookmarks/books (depending on the context).
	•	Suggestion: A more natural behavior would be to navigate to the previous or next chapter when swiping left or right. Please consider adding this as a user option.

3. Book Name / Chapter Number (Top Bar)
	•	Current: Tapping the book name or chapter number at the top brings up TTS (Text-to-Speech) options.
	•	Suggestion: In most cases, users expect these areas to offer fast navigation (e.g., quickly selecting a book or jumping to a chapter). Please consider moving speech/TTS options to the audio icon, and allowing taps on the book name or chapter number to bring up quick navigation menus.

These changes would make an already great app much more intuitive and enjoyable. Thank you for your hard work and dedication!

### 5/5 — Bibel

*2025-07-04*

Ich liebe diese Bibel!

### 5/5 — Excellent App, Bug Fix Requested

*2025-06-29, version 1.3.19*

On the iPhone app, latest release (1.3.19), there is a bug. As you scroll, the verse your finger lands on highlights gray as if selected. This makes scrolling through feel choppy.
