### 3/5 — Good but buggy

*2026-05-13, version 2.10*

Please please please fix the bug that makes the time rewind by 3 hours eveytime you open the app. It’s incredibly annoying and makes the app unusable for quick checks which is inherently the point.

### 3/5 — Great but... no longer updates quickly so is less reliable

*2026-02-06, version 2.10*

Overall I have found this app very helpful and fairly accurate. However, currently the app is slow to update and gives the radar that's already happened instead of the current radar or forecast. It used to (usually) be better so please could this be fixed if possible?

### 4/5 — Great but...

*2025-09-14, version 2.10*

### 4/5 — One bug to fix…

*2025-09-13, version 2.10*

The app is awesome — my go to place to check whether it’ll rain in the next hour or two. However, the time slider at the bottom is too low; it’s hard to use without triggering the iOS app switch. It needs to be higher or at the top.

### 4/5 — Great app

*2025-03-02, version 2.10*

Very useful app but it did have a strange outage for several days recently ?

### 5/5 — Rain check

*2024-05-17, version 2.10*

Good short term predictions

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2024-04-13, version 2.10*

If you are a groundsman this is a must, great app, wouldn’t be without it

### 5/5 — Essential

*2024-04-11, version 2.10*

The best short range weather app by far.
Doesn’t predict (guess) the next 3 hours weather, it actually shows you the radar and the path of rain etc.
I’ve used it for 10 yrs, wouldn’t be without it!

### 5/5 — Excellent rainfall radar, very accurate!

*2024-04-04, version 2.10*

I’ve been using this app for several years now and have to say that it’s one of my most go to apps on my phone and iPad. It’s so accurate that I time my dog walks with it, being able to tell exactly when to be back for before rain will start. Superb!

### 3/5 — Not As Accurate As Led To Believe

*2024-03-28, version 2.10*

I am rather disappointed in the live forecasts. When I first made the purchase all worked very well with live forecast updates being spot on, now several months down the line, the forecast has not been accurate, in fact at times nowhere near. Being told it’s raining and it’s bone dry. The live rain radar has not been accurately predicted.

### 3/5 — Usable but can be slow

*2024-03-02, version 2.10*

Still find using this app slow. Takes a minute or two to update radar every time it seems

### 5/5 — Essential for dog owners

*2024-02-23, version 2.10*

I don’t leave home without checking it ahead of planned dog walks. Will I be left a sodden mess being the main consideration .

### 4/5 — Had the app for years

*2024-02-18, version 2.10*

Seems to be fairly accurate so look at it regularly. Only downside is it seems to take for ages to update when the app is opened.

### 4/5 — Been my radar app for years but tweaks needed!

*2023-11-12, version 2.9*

I have recommended this app to many people and it’s been my “go to” weather radar for years when there was little else on iOS but I think now a few others are becoming more common including the inbuilt weather app radar so the app developer shouldn’t rest on their laurels.

For me there are a few irritations which I am sure are fixable:

Firstly, it often takes so long to “back load” the weather up to now before if then starts moving forward which on a slow connection can be soooo irritating. Why can’t you get “now image” (as you do now) and forward load first before back loading or only back load if people then scroll back. Surely majority of people always want the radar for the next hour or so and not what’s been? The amount of time I’ve wasted watching the catch up bar get to now and move forward in time (which is what most people want!) is ridiculous! There must be an improvement you can make here.

Secondly, the forward bar (whilst waiting for the dreaded back loading!) will jump back to the oldest image when you tap right and hit the end stop. No no no, why do you want it to wrap around automatically? Add a setting so when it hits the end stop that’s where it stops and users can then wait for the forward images to drop in whilst whacking right. Again if you’re banging right why on earth would you want to go back in time!

Thirdly, the “start” button is too close to the right button, again people will be whacking g right as we all care about what the weather will be in the future (right?!) and it’s too easy to hit that horrible play button which I’ve got zero interest in. Again either move it left a bit or add setting to remove the darn thing. I do t want a continuous moving image of the weather I want to scroll forwards and see what it will be.

Fix those things which have irritated me for years and it’s five stars.

### 5/5 — Works well for 1-2 hour predictions

*2023-10-29, version 2.9*

Brilliant App for short term predictions. Amazingly accurate. If you’re about to embark on a long dog walk, it’s the difference between smelly soggy dog or dry (but muddy) dog, just by checking and adjusting your timings
Wouldn’t be without it, I can walk with confidence on a wet day
Also…. Bit of a gimmick I know, but love the lightening feature which plays a sound when there’s a lightening strike nearby.
Brilliant, well done

### 5/5 — Worth having

*2023-10-05, version 2.9*

Recommended to me by a friend. Always check app in morning before taking the dog for a walk and regularly during the day depending on other plans

### 5/5 — Great accurate app

*2023-09-06, version 2.9*

I have used this app for a few years now and rely on it for its accuracy. It is spot on all the time. I plan my trips out using it, even a quick pop to the shops. It has saved me and my washing from a soaking many times. I would recommend it.

### 5/5 — Home and dry

*2023-08-22, version 2.9*

Spot on

But there are bug and then it stopped working

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Basic and badly designed

*2026-01-30, version 2.10*

Extremely basic and the slider is in the wrong place/doesn’t work correctly, as it’s very easy to swipe out of the app

### 1/5 — Poor App Updates

*2023-06-17, version 2.8*

DO NOT PAY FOR THE MET DESK APP.

Only updated after an entire year!

No updates for their Snow Radar App, which now doesn’t work.

Met Office show radar map, exactly the same as Met Desk, but it’s far more accurate and reliable. Met Office also has notification for weather and pollen etc, unlike Met Desk, which is now rubbish - AVOID.

### 1/5 — Really bad

*2023-05-05, version 2.7*

I won’t recommended this app. You can’t zoom in and the quality is really poor.

### 1/5 — No longer seems to work

*2023-02-02, version 2.7*

This app and Snow Radar no longer appear to work. Shame as they were both very good.

UI is old, circa iOS way way back, but at least useful. Seemingly no more :(

### 1/5 — No so good now

*2022-10-22, version 2.7*

Used to be great, could look forward from current time 4 hours or so in 15 min increments and carry on for 72 hours. Now, today, 22 October at 2050 it tells me what happened at 1850 and goes up to 0600 tomorrow! No emails answered as to why. Usual case of something great that somehow gets b#ggered about with!

### 1/5 — Useless

*2022-08-21, version 2.7*

No longer reliable, radar is really inaccurate and Thunderstorm notifications no longer work, please sort this out

### 1/5 — Has stopped working on iPad

*2022-05-15, version 2.7*

Sadly, this once superb app has stopped displaying the rain radar on the iPad. I have tried deleting and reinstalling it with no effect. (Still works on iPhone)

### 1/5 — Crashes!...Crashes!...Crashes!

*2018-03-28*

Used to be good when app was first created, but this last year it crashes all the time!...i am using an older ios, but it was never a problem before!...if you have the latest apple device, then its good, older device then its terrible!...its a shame as i was one of the first customers of Home & Dry!...i now use "Will it rain today" on safari web browser, which works well...The developers should take into account older ios software when updating!...After all it does say this app works with 9.0 ios & newer versions!

### 2/5 — Slider too close to home bar

*2024-09-29, version 2.10*

The time slider is too close to the iOS home bar so when trying to advance the time you end up dragging to the next app instead. Very annoying.

### 2/5 — No Laundry Drying Index

*2022-08-25, version 2.7*

Bought this app on the back of publicity about the Metdesk Laundry Drying Index. Thought the £2.49 would soon be offset by the savings on the tumble dryer. However the laundry drying index or notifications about drying days are missing. Disappointed.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — My go to for satellite

*2026-01-24, version 2.10*

Really good UI and information on satellite - immediately accessible weather information, which I need almost daily.
(I use to used MetOffice, but their latest update doesn’t present any forecast info well)

### 5/5 — Home and Dry

*2025-11-16, version 2.10*

In terms of forecasting rain, this is the best and my ‘go to’.

### 5/5 — Saves from a soaking

*2025-10-22, version 2.10*

It’s amazing how accurate this app is at showing imminent rain showers. It’s save us from getting a soaking on many occasions. My colleagues use it to time when they leave the office to get lunch.

### 5/5 — Home & Dry

*2025-07-31, version 2.10*

Home & Dry is Great for checking. Weather conditions to plan outings and Gardening over a couple of days. Weather Programs are to hurried and don’t give you time to take it all in whereas Home & Dry can be watched, paused and played several times as required to get a better idea of timings!
My Go To App For Weather Forecast Timings 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Thank You! ❤️

### 5/5 — Brilliant app for UK weather

*2025-07-06, version 2.10*

So good, predicts rain, snow and also shows where the lightning strikes are!

### 5/5 — Weather app

*2024-11-17, version 2.10*

Home and dry is the best weather app ever its so accurate and a pleasure to use love it

### 5/5 — Great app for Geocaching!

*2024-09-29, version 2.10*

For a change, this is an app that’s pretty accurate.
Doesn’t matter if your riding, walking or planning a wash day.

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2024-09-06, version 2.10*

a brilliant app for UK weather
it’s so accurate it’s possible to time a walk to the shoos in between showers.
as a cinematographer it allows me to accurately predict weather to an accuracy of 10 minutes when shooting exteriors
My only complaint is that there is no coverage of European weather .

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2024-07-15, version 2.10*

Has never let me down and always spot on accuracy. This is a must for anyone

### 5/5 — Invaluable app

*2024-05-21, version 2.10*

One of the most and consistently accurate weather apps I’ve ever used. Essential for proper planning outside activities and excursions.
