### 3/5 — Pretty good

*2026-07-24, version 8.8*

Overall pretty good but would like to be able to alter or rename some of the fields
This would be helpful in the case of greating wills, inheritance list, etc

### 4/5 — Almost perfect

*2026-05-09, version 8.8*

I’ve been trying to find a solid inventory/belongings app that supports QR codes (for labels), doesn’t require a user account, a monthly subscription, or cloud storage: this app checks all but one of these and I’d be more than happy to pay the quite reasonable one-time fee to unlock full use if QR scab and print support was included. Developer: please, if possible, add this feature!

### 3/5 — Still Needs Work

*2026-05-08, version 8.8*

Still needs tweaks in uploading and pictures duplicating wasting time to delete extra pictures of the same items

### 4/5 — Containers structure

*2025-11-21*

Please, add folded container structure. Locations without containers and subcontainers are less useful.

### 3/5 — not bad

*2025-10-11, version 8.8*

needs to have the ability to use when offline. can’t access anything unless you have connectivity

### 5/5 — Well worth it

*2025-10-10, version 8.8*

Been using this for years now, across two properties, and its flexibility is a big winner. Wife loves it also which is always a win. Came in very handy with insurance company after we had a home invasion a year ago with lots of random items stolen and/or damaged. Everything was at our finger tips. Would probably like a bit of AI added and barcode reading (I have a largish library but only add as an overall single item, which if insurance is involved, wouldn’t be acceptable).

### 5/5 — Everybody should have it.

*2025-10-05, version 8.8*

Love this application so much. Use it for everything in the house. My favourite app. Keep the good work. 👍

### 5/5 — Great App except….

*2025-09-16, version 8.8*

I wish there was a version that ran on a Mac OS

### 3/5 — Meh

*2025-07-12, version 8.7*

Not detailed enough. I asked the developer about subcategories and he responded with something about not wanting people to record every paperclip they own. Maybe I expected too much for the $5.99 price tag. I just want to be able to record items that are in boxes in various storage places rather that searching the entire room for an item I use once a year.

### 5/5 — Very nicely done.

*2025-07-10, version 8.7*

I’ve been looking for something not so expensive, where the data is not stored on vendors website, and meets my needs. I found it with Home Contents app. The data appears to be stored on your phone and can be exported to your personal iCloud space. The ability to scan in pics on the fly, single or multiple, makes it easy to use. Reporting and exporting is also a plus. Thanks

### 5/5 — Love this app!

*2025-06-30, version 8.7*

Let’s face it, creating a home inventory is a lot of effort, but this app makes it so much easier. Open a drawer, snap a photo, list the contents and value. Open a cabinet, snap, list. Lather, rinse, repeat. Once the initial inventory is complete, it’s a snap to keep it updated. Oh, and did I mention how I can now find every single thing in my house? Every. Single. Thing! Best app ever!

### 4/5 — Fantastic

*2025-06-15, version 8.7*

Honestly my only qualm with this app is that it doesn’t have an android or desktop equivalent. Other than that this app of perfect in my opinion. I love the one time fee instead of having to subscribe as someone on the low income side.

### 5/5 — The Best by Far

*2025-06-11, version 8.7*

This app is so easy to use and records details so clearly. Photos, scanning codes are brilliant. Ideal for iPhone and iPad.Thoroughly recommend.

### 5/5 — Useful inventory tool

*2025-06-09, version 8.7*

I’ve been using this for inventory management and it’s been sensational. I can use it at my off site location via mobile. Reports are great to print out so I can do a physical inventory stocktake. The developer is very responsive.

### 5/5 — Excellent Home Inventory application

*2025-05-22, version 8.7*

Excellent Home Inventory application…
I’ve been through a few home inventory applications in the past years but this one is these best so far… My home insurance rep really likes is also.

### 5/5 — This is the app you’re looking for

*2025-04-20, version 8.7*

The price is right, the features are there, I like it. Took my 2 years of on and off looking to find it though.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2025-04-19, version 8.7*

I have used this app for some time. This is just the right app to track your home contents. You can find what you are looking for easily and avoid buying what you already have. Highly recommended!

### 5/5 — So great.

*2025-04-12, version 8.7*

I’ve used this app daily for years to catalogue my vintage jewellery collection. Highly recommend it. I can easily find any piece with photos, notes, cost, worth, maker etc and I can set up the categories and cross reference any way I like. So helpful to any collectors, not just household inventory.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2025-04-11, version 8.7*

I just recently started using this app and it’s very user friendly and efficient! I would like to put barcodes on items, anyone recommend a certain type or brand?

### 5/5 — Home contents app

*2025-04-04, version 8.7*

This app has been amazing!! Idk how I would have got through the inventory I had to do for my insurance company after our house fire that resulted in what the call a “total loss”. Th only thing it didn’t have that I needed to provide the insurance company with was the approximate age of each item. If it had a space for each item to list its age that would have been great. I personally just used one of the other spots my insurance company didn’t ask for then let them know that’s how I did it. But overall I love this app!! Not to mention it’s literally the only one of its kind in the Apple App Store. I was a little worried at first it being the only one. As soon as I opened my fears were gone!! I recommended this app to anyone that has to do an inventory for their insurance company !!! Thank you for making this app!!

P. S. I haven’t EVER wrote a review for a app!! I love this and recommend this so much I had to comment!!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Inflexible data

*2025-01-19, version 8.6*

I started to use this app but abandoned it because the input is so restricted. Might be better to use Excel !
The form format is fixed so it’s not possible to include any location detail without adding this as a note which is inconvenient. i.e. there may be many items in a lounge, and mot useful to use just “Lounge” as the location ….
That’s ok for big stuff like a chair or TV. But not good enough for small items such as a calculator, a special book or tool. As a weaver, I have very many items that need some exact location … Box 1 …. Top Draw, etc
So just Lounge or hobby rm is not enough and the lack of a sub-location or flexibility to add such renders this app completely useless to me. In it’s current form I am not able to recommend this app for anything more than as a simple list or items. That are to be found somewhere in a large (ish) area

### 1/5 — stupid issue

*2025-01-16, version 8.6*

forces you to use the currency associated with your iphone language and doesn’t let you change this - despite showing you “currency” in the settings, it just tells you to change your iphone language/region.

so stupid and would be such a simple fix. no i do not want to change my iphone language from my home language just so i can show my home contents in your app in USD (as i live in the US.)

### 1/5 — This produce is a God Send

*2024-12-12, version 8.6*

Once I had a brilliant product that acted as a relatively unsophisticated database but it was so useful that it could handle all sorts of simple database requirements. Of course, Apple dumped it and left no real replacement. This APP, primarily intended for taking stock of items in a home with some minor tweaking can turn itself to all sorts of useful purposes. Buy it and I am sure that you will enjoy using it.

The problem is that it is not a shared database platform meaning entries made on my iPad aren’t appearing on my iPhone. It’s a one or another phenomenon. Disappointing because any database worth its salt would synchronise between commonly used IT gadgets. My 2/5 rating remains because of this.

### 1/5 — Not for multiple users

*2024-07-05, version 8.4*

It does not work with a spouse or family as it only syncs with 1 Apple ID. Allow it to sync with other devices for family members or use a different sync service that allows this basic functionality.

### 1/5 — Great concept, easy to use, fatal flaw

*2024-02-28, version 8.2*

I welcomed this app and bragged about it to my husband while boxing up our home. The categories, the ease of photography and boxes, and inventory. It was great. Flash forward a few years, we discovered our storage was broken into. At least I had it inventoried, right? No. I had assumed that Home Contents operated like ScannerPro and uploaded and backed up and was accessible across devices, nope. All that work and even worse my documentation is gone. It was stored on one device and when I upgraded my phone, all was lost. I would have been happy if the photos were in my Apple Photos, but sadly for me, they are not. Given the importance of this for police reports and insurance, I have to give this the lowest rating. If Home Contents makes this more like Scanner Pro were if the app was removed from a device or the change of phone and the app reloaded and my documents were there, I would give this a five star rating.

### 1/5 — Scam!

*2024-01-22, version 8.2*

This company charged my credit card without any authorization from me! Fraud big time!

### 1/5 — Great concept |hard to use.

*2023-01-28, version 8.2*

Should be easier, finally figured out how to sync, but won’t do it. After an hour fiddling with it, I give up. Glad I didn’t purchase first and only added one item. If itv were easier to sync between devices, I’d try again.

### 1/5 — Constantly crashes on my iPhone 12 Pro Max

*2022-10-04, version 8.1*

The app is useless because it keeps crashing when I switch between apps, which is essential as I need to gather data from mail and safari. When I go back to the app it crashes and all the progress with data entry is lost. Don’t waste your money!

### 1/5 — Won’t save items if sync enabled

*2020-12-26, version 7.8*

I’ve added several items with photos and descriptions, put them in a category and location, and they simply disappear after a few minutes. This app used to work correctly when I downloaded it two years ago.

The workaround seems to be that you can disable all sync functions between iCloud or other devices running the app. Since I’ve done that, it stopped wiping out my new changes.

However, syncing is a core function, not a nitpick about a missing feature. I’m glad it happened before I got too far into this project. I’m already looking for a new inventory app, and you should too.

### 1/5 — Version update is nothing but limit feature of the app

*2015-11-03, version 3.10*

Uninstalled!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — I absolutely love this!

*2026-08-12, version 9.0*

Cannot tell you how much I love this app. I use it to catalog car parts and my model car collection. Game changer! Please don’t change it or make it paid.

### 5/5 — Best App Home content inventory

*2026-06-11, version 8.8*

Easy to learn and make the inventory for senior like me.

### 5/5 — Love it - just one downside

*2026-05-21, version 8.8*

I love the app - it’s a game changer. Only thing I wish was different is that there was a desktop version or website you could login through.

When you have a lot to upload, it sucks having to do it from your phone.

But that’s not a big deal, just a personal preference so I would 100% still give it 5 stars!

### 5/5 — Beyond Awesome

*2026-04-18, version 8.8*

I’m slowly moving all of my important applications away from the iMac to iOS. One of the stumbling blocks has been a good inventory app. Well; after much searching, I’ve found it right here. Give the limited free version a try and I’m certain that you will agree.
Update 5 November 2018:
Having completely updated my inventory using this app, I can safely say that I doubt there's a better home inventory app for iOS.
Highly recommended.
Update 19 February 2021:
Nothing much to say other than this app continues to shine. Whenever I revisit it to update my inventory; it continues to amaze me how simple it is to use. This is a must have app.

### 5/5 — Best I’ve Found

*2026-04-14, version 8.8*

I’ve tried a few apps but this one remains the only one I use It’s easy and reliable for my simple needs

### 5/5 — Works as advertised

*2026-01-24, version 8.8*

Great product

### 5/5 — Terracotta

*2026-01-14, version 8.8*

Excellent all round app for home inventory. Simple to use but very useful!

### 5/5 — Very useful app

*2025-12-05, version 8.8*

Great app that I’ve used for years now to track my home contents. Highly recommend it.

### 5/5 — Simple and powerful

*2025-12-04, version 8.8*

I really like this app. I struggle with object permanence so to have my belongings catalogued in one user-friendly, robust, and convenient app is a godsend. I upgraded to premium immediately not just to remove the ads but bc
it only seemed fair to pay the developer for something that I use so much.

### 5/5 — Formidable

*2025-11-16*
