However, I later discovered that the developers removed the application from the store. Consequently, the app is no longer receiving any updates in the future. They released the same app without any improvements, but at a higher subscription plan. They intentionally avoid updating the main application to continuously collect money from users. Therefore, I strongly advise against purchasing anything from this developer. It’s highly likely that they will remove the app again and reintroduce it with an even higher price. I was happy to pay for the app and even spent additional money on content because I thought I was investing in a product I could keep using. Now, the Gold Edition has been removed and replaced with a subscription model that costs $80 a year. I get that developers need to make money, but this price is just too high for me. An annual subscription for a home design app is simply too much, especially when many of us originally picked the Gold Edition because it was not subscription-based. What makes this especially frustrating is that I wasn’t expecting everything to be free. I would have happily paid for a reasonably priced upgrade, bought optional furniture or decor packs, or even purchased a new version as a one-time deal. Instead, the only option now is an expensive recurring subscription. It feels like loyal customers who supported the original app have been left behind. Those of us who paid for the Gold Edition and put extra money into the app deserved a more customer-friendly upgrade path than being asked to pay $80 annually. I genuinely loved this app, which is why writing this review is so disappointing. I still think it’s a great piece of software, but I can’t back a pricing model that turns what was once an affordable, one-time purchase into an ongoing yearly expense. I loved this app for so long, I didn’t have a subscription and it was still fun. I played this all the time. But one day this little diamond went up. And it wouldn’t let me use anything except the first thing on every category. It was soooooo frustrating and I am super mad now. I have sent several requests through support and haven’t received an answer. Now I can’t even start a new project unless I upgrade. This is wrong. It is simple and easy to use. It is very different to any other home design app I have used. I have tonnes of projects on the account I use. You can draw rooms for your houses and walls as well as land area so you can have different colours for your garden. There are three views, visit mode is my favourite, and construction mode and 2D view. I’ve got a few other home design apps and none of them are as good as Home Design 3D. You can change the time of day which is not on many of the other home design apps that I’ve got. It is good and I use it almost everyday. I like making silly projects.
