### 4/5 — Good App

*2022-02-17, version 5.21*

Wish there was a few more categories (soup).
You can delete by going to list and swipe left.
So far I’m loving it.

### 4/5 — Overall, very good

*2021-03-28, version 5.21*

This is a great app that does what I need it to do. There is a bit of a learning curve, but I have figured out how to use most of the features. I have recorded inventory in multiple places, created my own categories and items (although it would be nice to have an icon set for user-created categories), and Use Sets feature is extremely helpful. quite robust, and for the most part, I love it!

The only problem I have had is that recently (past few months), I can’t always assign an expiration date to items in the Use Sets feature. The date wheel comes up, but the Done button is missing, so the date is not recorded. I can go into a different food, and it works. Then go back to the one that wasn’t working, and it still doesn’t work. I have re-started the app, and sometimes it fixes itself, but not always. I even rebooted my iPad, and it still didn’t always work. I don’t dare to delete and reinstall the app, as I don’t really trust the backup, and I have so much stored in the app it would take time I don’t have to re-enter everything. I try to work around this but it’s annoying when it doesn’t work the way it should.

### 4/5 — Great App with one suggested change

*2020-12-17, version 5.21*

This app is awesome! The only thing I wish it did better was sharing between devices with different iCloud accounts. Like between husband and wife.

### 5/5 — Great app for prep inventory and an open developer

*2020-08-16, version 5.21*

This app is great to scan the UPCs of the items in your prep storage. Easy to use and you can scan and add several hundred items in a few hours. I made a few suggestions to the developer and he was very open to listening to the ideas. A perfect way to making a great app even better. Worth the price.

### 4/5 — Sync doesn’t work.😡

*2020-08-11, version 5.21*

Starting to wonder if apps are designed to annoy.

### 5/5 — Love it so far

*2020-07-21, version 5.21*

I’m enjoying this little preppers database for tracking my food pantry. I want them to integrate with recipes using ingredients in the database.

### 5/5 — Fantastic app

*2020-06-22, version 5.21*

This app is fantastic!! Perfect way to track my food storage.

### 3/5 — Seems great but still frustrated

*2020-05-13, version 5.21*

I really like the Interface and ease of this app, but I can’t I have a small pantry in my kitchen and overflow in the basement and a deep freeze. I can’t seem to have multiple locations for the same item. It would be better served if we could put each entry into its own location. Additionally some Updated reports would be awesome.

**Developer response:** Yes, you can use multiple locations on an item by tapping the Use Sets row when editing the item. This allows you to track quantities by Location and Expiration date.

### 5/5 — This is amazing!

*2020-05-11, version 5.21*

I’m really enjoying this App. It was time consuming to get all my stuff in it. So worth it! When it lists the coming expectation dates, I know what to use first. That in itself is a real money saver. I discovered I have way too many of one thing, and not enough of another. I quickly add those lacking to my shopping list. Another money saver. I love the ability of seeing what % I’m prepared. I could go on and on. I definitely recommend this to anyone.

### 5/5 — Amazing App

*2020-04-24, version 5.21*

I totally love this app. It is exactly what I needed to get my food storage in order.

### 4/5 — Super helpful; not exactly intuitive

*2020-04-13, version 5.21*

This is helpful for tracking quantities and expiration dates. The challenge is that you often have to pick usage rates and package sizes that are more complicated than just saying that my goal is 5 pounds (or whatever). Still very helpful. Recommended.

### 5/5 — Home food storage app works

*2020-04-02, version 5.21*

Home Food Storage app is a great find. I have not had luck on photo input of UPC. My internet my be the problem. I am looking forward to getting this all set up.

### 4/5 — Great concept UI needs some refinement

*2020-03-29, version 5.21*

This app is exactly what I was looking for which is to keep track of the items in my freezer and their expirations dates. The interface is a bit clunky with how you enter items and it’s very confusing on how to edit food groups and types. I found the default entries that it comes with to be too much. When you want to simply enter ground beef you have to scroll through screens to get to beef on the list. There’s no option to search and it does not have any intelligent typing or recently used functionality to make the entry easier. I think the overall concept is great though and this has the potential to be a great app with some more enhancements to the user interface.

### 5/5 — Thought I was going to have to create my own app..

*2020-03-27, version 5.21*

Awesome app. Love the barcode scanning feature. Helps with expiring products and you can quickly look and see what you got. Help to keep food from spoiling because you can do meal prep based on first expiring products. When grocery shopping you can look on the app to see if you have it at home and how much of it. Awesome app thanks

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Will not sync

*2020-11-21, version 5.21*

I have an iPad and iPhone. It will not sync between devices. This doesn’t help for when my husband is doing the stock or needing to check inventory. It’s very annoying. We wanted to be able to check. Both use same iCloud so in theory it should work based on the app and what it says. But it doesn’t. It you need it for one device. It works fine.

### 1/5 — Difficult and not what expected

*2018-04-18, version 5.20*

Not at all what I thought I was. Hard to list items. Scanning them you still need to input information. Not a good app to keep a list of food items on hand. Sorry I spent my 1.99.

### 2/5 — Concept, but very outdated and hard to use app

*2021-10-26, version 5.21*

I love what this app is supposed to do, But it is very hard to use. Instead of being able to select an overall goal (ie 1yr of food storage) you have to breakdown per category to get to whatever you want your total to be. Plus my iPad and iPhone NEVER show the same info even though they are linked to the same Apple ID account. When I try to manually sync them, they never connect to each other. It just endlessly searches.

### 2/5 — Long term disappointment

*2020-12-04, version 5.21*

I’ve used this app for years but it’s disappointing that there is no feature to do a periodic inventory. Also appears the developer has abandoned the app as the last update was a year ago.

### 2/5 — App Won’t Combine Info From Different Devices

*2020-05-02, version 5.21*

Getting set up there is a lot to inventory so I enlisted the help of my daughter. She did one section and I did a different section. When I synced the two phones through the sync link in the app it overwrote the phone receiving, not combined them, so I lost a lot of work completed... That was very frustrating to find out after the fact. Why is there family sharing if the information can’t be combined?

**Developer response:** We are sorry that you didn’t understand the need to setup the sync between devices before you started entering item information on separate devices.
As you would have seen from the messages shown during the sync process, the receiving device does not keep any data. (https://foodstorageapp.com/how-to-use/online-sync-and-backup/)

### 2/5 — Disappointing

*2020-03-30, version 5.21*

Can’t print off iPad. No instructions. No way to reorganize categories or sort. Definitely not worth cost of app.

### 2/5 — Very frustrated

*2020-03-24, version 5.21*

I struggle with finding items when I want to update or view balances. There should be away to search.

I can’t find how to delete an item that I no longer want to track.

Groups and types that I have added sometimes don’t appear in the lists at all.

Worst of all, I don’t think the backup is working. I would like to uninstall and reinstall to see if that would update things, but without being able to confirm the backup, I don’t dare.

Like I said, very frustrating!

### 2/5 — Disappointing app

*2020-03-22, version 5.21*

The sync did not work well so it was difficult to keep my and my wife’s apps up to date with each other. The UI also leaves much to be desired. Not sure if there are better options, but I’d rather have used nothing than pay for this app.

### 2/5 — Missing vital functions

*2020-02-21, version 5.21*

This is a great start but is missing functionality. User cannot remove or rotate stock.i keep the same food stores in different locations and boxes this app is a waste because it wants the same products in 1 location. Not useable or user friendly for me.

### 3/5 — Good start

*2021-01-12, version 5.21*

Please update so that when we have a larger font setting on the app the app displays properly

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Good application

*2022-10-15, version 5.21*

I like that it tracks your goal as well as current storage. Provides a list of what is needed to meet goal for shopping purposes.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2022-03-30, version 5.21*

I’ve been looking for a food storage app for some time. Found this one and love it! It’s quite easy to use, well organized, and quite useful!

### 5/5 — Love the app, wish it worked elsewhere.

*2021-11-10, version 5.21*

I love the app, for the most part it is easy to use. I just wish it worked on other platforms. I’m a PC guy and would love it if it worked in windows. Our phones are google, it would sure be nice if it worked on them. My wife’s tablet is a Kindle Fire, she would love to be able ro access it. I have the only iPad, the only device in the household that it will work on and don’t plan to replace it when it goes. I hate the idea of entering everything in here only to lose it down the road.

I have tried other apps and I’m not as happy with them. This one seems to fit the bill. If only it worker on other platforms.

One problem I am having is figuring out how to delete an item that I accidentally added in two categories. I can list it as zero, but how do I delete it?

### 5/5 — Lazy proof

*2021-09-19, version 5.21*

I don’t do hard and complicated that’s why this app is perfect for me. It is a super easy way to track what I have and where I hid it😀. Love the UPC scanner and the ease of inputting the expiration and location etc. Thank You!! Kinda fun actually I just run around looking for more things to scan 😂

### 5/5 — Glad to be back:)

*2021-03-21, version 5.21*

I have been using this app for quite some time. I love keeping track of what I have in my food stock. When the app didn’t stay active I was lost and so sad. I tried other apps but it just wasn’t the same. I was thrilled when the app finally got updated. Thanks for staying active.

### 5/5 — Great Tool

*2020-12-29, version 5.21*

This has helped out family so much. Made us realize that we needed more food and water and that we lacked a variety. There are a couple things that could be improved. For example it would be nice if I could add items to the shipping list that I don’t already own. Overall it’s a great tool.

### 5/5 — Being prepared

*2020-10-25, version 5.21*

I love knowing, what I have, what I need.
Where it is.

### 5/5 — Yes, this is what you’re looking for!

*2020-10-14, version 5.21*

This app is perfection! It tells me how much I need, and makes it easy to not only store but USE our storage. Keeps track of expiration dates to help with rotation. The scanning is what really makes it realistic - super fast and easy. Thank you!!!!

### 5/5 — Don’t buy this APP!

*2020-10-11, version 5.21*

The only reason I bought it was to scan products for my inventory. It will not pull up any information of even the most basic items and you will have to add all info manually. You are basically giving someone a spread sheet of your inventory and where to find it. Does not keep track of personal info, they don’t care who you are, it’s what you have and where you keep it!

**Developer response:** Thanks for the positive review!
As stated in our privacy policy, we do not have access to any of your information, AT ALL!

### 5/5 — Love that I can add and subtract items to keep a rolling inventory!!

*2020-09-07, version 5.21*

I’m really enjoying all the features on this app.
