## What is Home Inventory?

Everything you own, documented in an afternoon. Photos, serial numbers, receipts, and what it would cost to replace it all — organized by room, totaled automatically, ready to hand to your insurance company as a clean PDF.

HomeInventory exists for one bad day: the fire, the flood, the break-in. When an adjuster asks what you lost, people without documentation settle for a fraction of what they were owed. People with photos and serial numbers get paid. Building that proof takes one afternoon with this app, and it might be the highest-value afternoon of your year.

WHAT IT DOES

• Walk through each room and add items with photos, brand, model, and serial number
• Attach receipts to anything you own
• Watch your total replacement value build, room by room, on the main screen
• Generate an insurance-ready PDF in one tap: every item with its photo, serial number, and value, grouped by room with subtotals
• Import an existing list from a CSV or spreadsheet in a few minutes
• Export everything back out anytime. Your inventory stays yours.
• Search by name or serial number instantly
• Full dark mode

YOUR RECORDS OUTLIVE YOUR PHONE

Everything lives on this device and moves to your next iPhone with your regular backup. The whole inventory exports to a plain CSV file whenever you want, so a copy can sit in your own files next to the policy documents. No account. No cloud. One purchase, and it keeps working.

PRIVATE BY ARCHITECTURE, NOT BY PROMISE

HomeInventory makes zero network requests. Photos come in through Apple's system picker, so the app never even asks for access to your photo library. The App Store privacy label says "Data Not Collected" because there is literally nothing to collect.

Document it once. Sleep better every night after.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4 — 2026-08-19

Two fixes to the numbers this app exists to produce.

An item value pasted or typed as a negative used to subtract from your totals. The form now refuses it, and any older row that holds one is left out of the total, the list line and the insurance report alike — so the document adds up to its own lines.

And if you'd already unlocked unlimited items, adding one right after opening the app could show the purchase screen again. It now waits for the App Store to confirm what you own.

### 1.3 — 2026-08-13

More than one place to keep things.

Turn on Multiple properties in Settings and an item can say which property it's in — a second home, a rental, a parent's house you're cataloguing for them. The list filters to one, the totals follow, and the insurance PDF says which address it covers.

It's off unless you ask for it. If everything you own is in one place, nothing about the app changes.

### 1.2 — 2026-08-10

Home Inventory is now a native iPad app, laid out for every orientation instead of running in iPhone compatibility mode.

Small reliability fix in the purchase flow, and the unlock screen now recognises early supporters correctly instead of offering them a purchase they already have.

### 1.1 — 2026-07-23

This update introduces Home Inventory Unlimited, an optional one-time purchase that unlocks unlimited items.

The free tier includes up to 25 items with every feature: rooms, photos, receipts, serial numbers, CSV import/export, and insurance reports.

Early adopters: if you installed the app before this update, you keep unlimited access. Thank you for being here from the start.

### 1.0 — 2026-07-15

No release notes.
