Good thought here but the tech needs to function. Not enough plants and I don’t feel comfortable with the pairings. What a disappointment. ### 1/5 — Disappointed! *2024-08-25* I am deeply disappointed with my experience using this app. While I initially viewed the $7.99 price tag as a reasonable investment, the service provided has been far from acceptable. The app consistently fails to perform basic functions, such as uploading pictures and creating designs. I encountered frequent freezes and improper loading, rendering the app virtually unusable. It is crucial for app developers to provide a clear and accurate representation of what users are paying for. Instead, I feel misled and frustrated, as the app did not meet even the most fundamental expectations. I am left feeling as though I was deceived and robbed, which is both upsetting and unfair. Given my experience, I do not recommend this app to anyone. It appears that the company is more interested in taking your money without delivering a functional product. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this app entirely. ### 1/5 — Just Crashes *2024-08-19, version 1.2* It looks great from the description, but I haven't been able to get it to load. It crashes each time I try to load it. How lame is that? ### 1/5 — I just got ripped off *2024-08-05* I can’t design anything. I am stuck on either a ‘take a photo’ or a message that their is insufficient data about my location. No warning that there is sufficient information before purchasing (necessary so you can start a project). I just want to design a landscape for my property. Support is down and I can’t reach the developer. **Developer response:** Our latest update has many improvements, including a more helpful and intuitive interface that makes it easy to get started designing right away. Wish it worked. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Sadly, not what I was hoping for. *2025-07-05* I’ve been looking for an app to help lay out some basic beds in my yard. Thought this might work. I downloaded it thinking I could print a garden plan based on the plants I placed in the AR design. Unfortunately the app does not produce a garden plan. It only gives you plans for the pre designed gardens already in the app. Disappointing. ### 1/5 — App won’t even load on startup. *2025-05-07* App won’t load. It starts up, changes orientation to landscape, then has a background with a white daisy. No progress from there after 10 minutes. Multiple attempts to close the app and reload. No progress. Same issue. Tried to get assistance on the product support page. Filled out all requested info, detailed my problem… it won’t submit. “There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.” No thanks. I’m done. ### 1/5 — Can’t get past postal code entered it several times and I can’t pass the first screen garbage *2025-05-06, version 1.8.1* All in the title ### 1/5 — Don’t… *2025-04-24* …unless you’re an experienced landscape designer who is already very experienced in using design tools, this app is pretty much useless. There’s minimal in app support, and no online support. There’s multiple HomeOutside apps, but they do not interface. You can’t import a photo into the app to design around, and all you get is the planner app is a bunch of blobs of color to move around. As I say, all this may not be problematic for experienced designers, but this app is certainly not for a newcomer. ### 1/5 — Avoid *2025-04-07, version 1.7* You have to purchase to download the app but then to use it you have to subscribe. Scam ### 1/5 — App stuck *2025-02-19, version 1.7* App is buggy and stuck on 3 pages - will not let me design anything at all. Noplace to download an existing photo, etc. Looks cool, but doesn’t seem to work ### 1/5 — Non-AR Option *2025-02-03, version 1.7* This app would be very useful for professionals if it let you create 3D designs without having to physically be at the location or walk around with your iPad. ### 1/5 — I can’t believe I paid for this *2025-01-29* There don’t appear to be a way to upload a photo of my yard to design from there. Meaning that I would have to stand outside in the snow and negative temperatures to start designing my yard using this app. Oof. Half-baked idea. Way too expensive. Even more opportunities to explore landscaping ideas. I’ve been wanting to update my landscape, but I don’t have a lot of talent or knowledge of what plants to choose. This app makes it incredibly easy to visualize different options with tips/suggestions. I am new to gardening so learning which plants work in different areas is really helpful. I love that it offers me the ability to buy my selections with free delivery too, instead of having to make a big list and search for the selections. It makes choosing less stressful and more fun.
